ANGE POSTECOGLOU will step up his bid to bring in fresh faces to Celtic this week.

The new Hoops boss is still waiting for his first win at Parkhead after watching his team beaten 1-0 by Championship outfit Preston nine days ago and trounced 6-2 by West Ham at the weekend.

Sandwiched in between the losses was the 1-1 draw with FC Midtjylland in the first leg of the Champions League second round qualifier with the return due in Denmark on Wednesday.

Postecoglou has already identified areas where the squad urgently needs strengthened with his priorities at right-back, central defence, a holding midfielder and another winger to add to 19-year-old Israeli right-sided raider Liel Abada.

The former Australia international manager is eyeing Royal Antwerp’s Portuguese right-sided defender Aurelio Buta with Sheffield United proving difficult to deal with in the £4million pursuit of George Baldock. And the club are also keeping tabs on Derby left-back Lee Buchanan, according to a report in the Daily Record.

Pride Park team-mate Nathan Byrne is already under consideration.

Buchanan is also wanted by Nottingham Forest and reports indicate they have already had a £1.2million offer rejected for the England Under-21 star who has a year left on his current deal.

Postecoglou, who could be without crocked Mikey Johnston for a lengthy spell, wants another wide player and 25-year-old Kristijan Lovric is on his radar with Croatian club Gorica placing a £4.2million price tag on the player who is also being monitored by Italian outfit Hellas Verona.
