Pour some ‘Best wee country’ syrup down your throat

Whatever former Scotland manager Craig Levein tells the media about referees’ behaviour will not come as news to you.  As Dundee United boss in 2008 he faced Rangers and was so incensed by the behaviour of referee, Mike McCurry, his reaction cost him a £5k SFA fine.

This is Scotland, it is not news, it is not even noteworthy.  The reaction from sections of the media and referees since a Celtic goal on Thursday tells you all you need to know.  Let them pour some more ‘Best wee country’ syrup down your throat while they are at it.  My only flag is green and white.

  1. Meanwhile, Liverpool’s B team look like they will also finish with 18 points. Their strength in depth is quite incredible.

A spokesperson for Celtic said: “His comments are inaccurate. He is clearly unaware that we have already made comment and that we were in contact with Hearts immediately after the incident, which is being handled appropriately.

Ajax achievements this year and their run to the semi finals a few years back are monumental achievments for a non-top 5/6 league club.

    However…………………………

Netherlands has over 3 times the population we have.

2 years ago, their league generated €594m, while Scotland generated €240m.

Eeredivisie TV rights are €119m while ours are €30m.

They have access to signing S. American players, Colombia, Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil and Surinam that we do not have (we might not even get approval for all of our triple Japanes league raid because of the rules that apply here).

And , historically they are a much bigger and more successful club than us. They have 4 European Cups/Champions League wins, 1 CWC, 1 Uefa Cup, 2 Uefa Super Cups and 2 Intercontinental Cups (compared to our one EC 54 years ago). They have remained competitive and relevant in every decade whereas we had 1966-74 only.

Anyone that thinks we rank alongside Ajax because we have beaten them a couple of times is wearing double glazed green specs.

    Dear An

Thank you for taking the trouble to reply to my earlier attempt at a response. It is appreciated.

You are a frequent contributor to this site but I suspect that your primary interest is nationalism not football.

==1.Celtic only Fritzsong, assuming incorrectly again.wouldnt take you climbing.we would be dead!!

On occasion, your posts have a naive charm but your faecal obsession detracts from that.

==2.no obsession, just pointing your shite swiping was poor, baseless and referenced a post you couldn’t remember/madeup/.all I said was you were talking shite in the pic you attempted to paint of me.poormans slur.

3.’Niave charm’ and here was me going to wait 6 months to see if you accused you of being shite at painting.😊

    Genuinely, have a great day.

=Every day is an absolute bonus.i am humble and continue to learn with all things

I respect you Fritzsong, you post as yourself, tho the 3 poor attempts at salmon fishing above show that respect is not reciprocated, and that is down to your (incorrect)political view of me,not mine of yours.

Anyway 😊Yir not that good at that windy uppy thing.

Ask why they are singin? It is a good topic every generation deals with.i suppose we need to get ministers commenting on it instead of commending it like macaskill did.

  10. We would have been in contact with Hearts to offer our apologies for the missile-throwing and assuring the Edinburgh club that we were fully supporting the Police in their investigation. That is standard stuff and would be expected of any club having a problem with their home crowd where an opposing team suffer consequences

Of course this is just the latest in a long line of sh** that the club has had to endure from the so-called ‘North Curve’ area.

Those in that part of the ground have had special treatment from Celtic. The safe-standing area was gifted to the GB, their sycophants & hangers-on.

Now nothing but crap comes from there – hundreds of thousands of Euros in fines – a catalogue of misdemeanours that jeopardise our place in UEFA competition and now this.

Dean’s comments about forfeiting the game & points, are of course crap – however the prospect has been floated and will be introduced & referenced going forward.

Is it now time to clean out this area of our stadium? Those responsible think because they are constantly told that they are key to the atmosphere at Celtic Park, they can do as they please – give these people enough rope and they will eventually hang the club.

Rebs ? Like them. Carry on bhoys.

Sectarian ones – what ones we talking about? Is it the fat Orange B one? If so – singing a song that derides a blatantly sectarian organisation is fair game for me.

That game was Gary’s and I’s respective first game at Tynecastle. What a game it was and no segregation .

Danny McGrain and Kenny Dalglish were were incredible in that game. Ronnie Glavin took our winning goal really well.

Thank you for the invite to the mass at St Mary’s and lunch at Coia’s in memory of Garry. He will always be with us. Unfortunately , I couldn’t make it along to both . The tour of St Mary’s would have been special.

A Celtic State of Mind podcast did two two days with guest podcasts last Saturday and Sunday which raised over £21,000 for the upkeep and community work carried out by both St Alphonsus and St Mary’s . They are keeping their fundraising going to Friday to try and raise £25,000 for both churches.

With respect, I didn’t say we ranked alongside Ajax, and I realize the gap is a chasm. There are also a few posters on here who might think it ironic that anyone might consider me a wearer of double glazed green specs!😊

I merely pointed out the beneficial results of some ambition at Board level. If achievement exactly equated to resources, we would not be ousted regularly by the likes of Midtjylland, Ferencvaros, Cluj, etc. Bankier’s responses at the recent AGM showed that he couldn’t care less. If the Board cared one iota, we would be a lot more prepared for the first qualifying round than latterly we have been.

  15. INIQUITOUSIV on 7TH DECEMBER 2021 9:12 PM

So this week it’s Ajax. Know much about their board?

I was listening to Marcel van set Krann, Dutch football expert, talking about them today. He was saying that a lot of their success is being put down to Overmars and the work he’s done in the transfer market. And how well Haller has done despite being ridiculed when he first came, 20m for someone who had failed at West Ham.

They’ve got an excellent, Dutch, coach who came from the same league and a 20 year old superstar who they paid 15m for as an 18 year old.

Overmars is paid 250k a year and will go with Ten Haag when he leaves, probably in the Summer. Van Der Saar will stay and is paid over 2m

  16. Sevco’s possible opponents in the next Europa round are now clearer: They are Leipzig, Porto, Dortmund, Sheriff Tiraspol, or Zenit. To be decided tomorrow are Barca/Benfica, Villarreal/Atalanta or any 1 of 4 from Group G.

I come from Killie, of the fans I know they don’t like us or them. Where a Killie fan has a slight preference towards us they would be educated at St Joseph’s 😱😂

    ————

I went to school in Kilmarnock and would agree with you.

At Primary we had probably 60/40 split Celtic/Killie up to about P4 and then it was about 70/30 and at secondary (the Joe’s) probably 80/20 or 90/10. Further leakage to Celtic post school. Caused a few fall outs about glory hunting.

I used to go to Killie games with no colours, as did the Rangers boys. Big crowds for Ayr games was 50% Old Firm

Good days really as we all enjoyed footie. The violence in Killie was due to where you lived or just down to drill/glue/drugs

  18. Ajax has been done to death on here

Easy enough to ignore the obvious differences and put their European success and our lack of it due to ambition, something that’s impossible to prove or quantify.

I went to the Killie games too, well for the drink. Ayr games were mental, remember drinking my carry oot and Killie scored to make it 5:1 I think. Off goes my mates to fight them leaving me with the drink👍. Then again we came from Onthank so expected behaviour😂😂😂😂

Here’s the Ajax Board: Only 4 of them, young, dynamic, modern, efficient, ambitious, in regular dialogue with fan bases, 2 of them ex-players. Compare them with the numerous, anonymous, antediluvian, unreachable, uncommunicative stiffs and nodding dogs on ours.

Lawwell’s income exceeded any one of theirs every year.

I think we did this convo last year or i have deja vu! I went to Mt Carmel in Onthank. I was just telling my daughter this week how bad it was that we stood at the railings shouting sectarian abuse in infants. IRA stuff later on (Onthank Primary did the reverse). The gay and racist jokes too. She gives my generation credit for growing out of that
