PRE-MATCH DRAMA: MURRAY OUT, ARTHUR IN

MARTIN O’NEILL was forced into a late team change before kick-off against Aberdeen at Pittodrie this evening.

Dane Murray was in the teamsheet to start against the Dons as he was poised to deputise for the banned Auston Trusty for the second successive game.

However, after partnering Liam Scales in Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Ibrox, the centre-back pulled up in the pre-match routine.

FIRST CELTIC START…new Bhoy Benjamin Arthur.

When it was clear he was struggling, O’Neill did not hesitate in calling in on-loan Brentford defender Benjamin Arthur from the substitutes’ bench.

The interim gaffer has already spoken highly of the towering back-four oerator he calls “Big Ben”.

The Hoops team that line up for the start read: Sinisalo; Araujo, Arthur, Scales, Tierney; McCowan, McGregor, Hatate; Yang, Cvancara and Tounekti.

Joel Mvuka took Arthur’s place among the stand-by squad.

The champions went into the crucial encounter in the knowledge a win would see them leapfrog Danny Rohl’s Ibrox by a point and move them to within five of leaders Hearts.
