Prevailing attitude of hunger

1428

Judging by these quotes, John Guidetti may just be the most excited footballer on the planet right now:

“I’m just going to work my socks off…. do my absolute very best…. give 100%.

“The one thing I hate more than anything is losing. I can’t stand it.

“For 90 minutes I am always giving everything.

“You can always expect 100% from your players and I’m going to give that [note the repetition of this assertion].

“I promise I’ll do my very best to do even a little bit of what [Henrik] did.

“Football without fans is nothing, it’s not worth it for me.”

There is a common theme across a few players who joined this summer, they have something to prove.  Guidetti, Mubarak and Tonev each had a difficult time last season, for varying reasons.  They need to hit the mark, whether it’s through form (Tonev), fitness (Guidetti) or simply being able to play in an environment which is remotely normal (Mubarak).

Scepovic is different.  He arrives with the wind at his back, but the prevailing attitude at Lennoxtown should be one of hunger. I suspect this contrasts starkly with last year’s arrivals.

    No.

The assumption should be that there’s no benefit to be gained from creating more states than already exist.

The Scottish version of Additional Member system is not the perfect solution.

One advantage though it does have over FPTP for the voter is that it offers every voter a choice of more than 2 parties. Where I live in East renfrewshire I will be able to choose from 2 parties Labour or Tory at the next general election. No other party will stump up a deposit to lose it under FPTP system.

    British nationalism – good.

    Scottish nationalism – bad.

  5. Alasdair MacLean – No, it isn’t. The problems we all face now are global. I believe that fundamentally we should be looking to come together more to face and resolve our problems together rather than further divide ourselves. Particularly if the mode of division is a stupid man made construct like imaginary lines on a map.

We all need to start looking beyond that sort of prehistoric nonsense if we want to evolve as a species and a global community.

I’ve been in Brno a few times and to be honest I prefer Brno to Prague, nobody trying to dip your pocket every 10 minutes. Last time I was in Brno I stayed in the hotel Pegas with its wee brewery in the cellar. What’s not to like? :-)

Better idea would be to have Ruth Davidson, Johann Lamont and Nicola Sturgeon fight it out naked in a remote highland bog free on BBC2. The winner decides if Scotland should be independent and the loser has to have a threesome with Annabel Goldie and Alex Salmond. This should be shown after 9pm.

All the No voters I speak to have a very obvious affection for independence but a considered pragmatism as to the cost.

    Snake Plissken:

I don’t know if you’ve been reading my posts on why I would vote no, I have nothing to lose or gain whichever way the vote goes, other than my hopes and worse, if my fears were to be made manifest. However, my main reason for coming down on the no side is because I just don’t think we can afford it and our future generations will pay the price, dearly, for our folly if we were to vote yes at this time.

I believe this referendum is taking place only by proxy of mistakes made by other political parties and the consequential backlash of protest voters and abstainers apathy allowing the SNP to take the Scottish parliment. I don’t believe their opportunism is really the most stable platform that the majority of the population would like to build a nation on and I don’t believe they’ll get the mandate to persue it. If they don’t get the majority what harm have they done Scotland. A lot, a lot in oh! so many ways.

What a rediculous notion to drop corporation tax below that of England and to boast about the intent. Does anybody in their right mind think Scotland would win an economic war with England. For the minister to boast the threat of defaulting on the national independent debt live on TV, what credence did that garner in the international financial world? That muppet made our country look like a harbour for theives.

So we need a Utopian single world government with no thought for more localised requirements and needs. If UK had offerred DEVO Max and more federal governance within the UK the question of Independence would not be with us. Removing DEVO max because they thought Independence support would never rally together to the point it has now before coming forward with their silly wee pledges now out of fear is just laughable. If DEVO Max had been offered i think 80% of the country would have opted for that. As it stands only Independence can provide a fairer form of governance for Scotland. UK does not consider Scotland or even the North of England worthy of a second thought in their elitist criminal policy making decisions as it stands.

That’s the product on the park sorted for the next number of months then. Hopefully it brings the punters out for the games coming up.

I would like to know if there are any plans to improve the matchday experience at Parkhead. The Celtic Way obviously is a positive step, but much more could be done. I have a few mates who attend Man City games, they say pre and post match is first class.

We need to explore every avenue to get as many supporters attending games as possible. Top team on the park and top facilities in and around the park.

Anybody any ideas/suggestions from other staduims/sports they have attended?
