Prevailing attitude of hunger

1428

Judging by these quotes, John Guidetti may just be the most excited footballer on the planet right now:

“I’m just going to work my socks off…. do my absolute very best…. give 100%.

“The one thing I hate more than anything is losing. I can’t stand it.

“For 90 minutes I am always giving everything.

“You can always expect 100% from your players and I’m going to give that [note the repetition of this assertion].

“I promise I’ll do my very best to do even a little bit of what [Henrik] did.

“Football without fans is nothing, it’s not worth it for me.”

There is a common theme across a few players who joined this summer, they have something to prove.  Guidetti, Mubarak and Tonev each had a difficult time last season, for varying reasons.  They need to hit the mark, whether it’s through form (Tonev), fitness (Guidetti) or simply being able to play in an environment which is remotely normal (Mubarak).

Scepovic is different.  He arrives with the wind at his back, but the prevailing attitude at Lennoxtown should be one of hunger. I suspect this contrasts starkly with last year’s arrivals.

  2. What’s the chances Ahmed does a deal with Sevco before Tuesday for a much reduced amount?

That way he at least gets something, his lawyers get paid and Sevco get a bit more breathing space, a chance to live to lie another day.

If the arrestment proceeds and tips them into administration the arrested funds don’t go to Ahmad, they just go into the pot to be dividied up among all the creditors, some of whom will be preferred.

There’s also the possibility the administrator will continue to defend the claim, it seems optimistic, if not entirely spurious, and Ahmad could end up with nothing, a huge legal bill and even an award of damages against him for the arrestment.

This of course assumes we accept events at face value, and it’s not all part of some larger Machiavellian plot.

Would that be the case? surely if the assets or funds are safeguarded, regardless of it potentially tipping them into admin his money would be secure?

I’ve been through a similar process before where funds from a third party were secured or frozen by the third parties bank and secured, (A third party debt order) I understand they were an individual but does it change that much if the securing of any funds or assets pushed a company into administration or liquidation? As the funds have been secured?

The arrestment just means the funds have to be there. They aren’t allocated to Ahmad in the event of an insolvency event. They just go into the pot, otherwise other creditors would be prejudiced.

  7. ernie lynch

    Thanks for that,

Well then he’s no further down the road in receiving his money, do you think they’ll offer him shares? What assets could obtain? that would cover his money?

If its accurate there is 1.2 million in the bank then taking more than half of that will put them as a going concern in serious jeopardy with all the other bills they will have to pay.

  8. Don’t know why the Huns are bothering. Did Ahmed not say if he won he’d give the the rangers the money back?

    ‘Ernie,

If hes fought for the £500K plus court costs I cant see him taking a reduced amount.’

    ###

But if they go into administration he won’t get the full amount. He’ll get whatever dividend in the pound the other unsecured, non preference creditors get.

And he runs the risk the administrator will defend the court action.

If he loses the court action Ahmad gets nothing, has to pay the other sides court costs and could have damages awarded against him for lodging the arrestment.

There’s sound commercial reasons for him to take a reduced settlement now.

That of course assumes that we accept things at face value, which with this mob might be the wrong approach.

If the spfl rules are indeed 15 points deductions for a football club having a first administration event, and 25 points for a second administration event, then there is going to be the farcical situation where
