Neil Lennon did us all a favour yesterday by dismissing rumours that he was targeting a striker from Vitoria Guimaraes as nonsense this early in the transfer window. The guidelines are set for your summer ahead. As well as being nonsense, though, it is also profitable news fodder; just think of the amount of advertising which has been wrapped around this story.
What does this teach us? I reckon that the least informed contributions left on the CQN comments page are about as reliable as what passes for mainstream ‘news’. There is a good possibility that even the player didn’t know Celtic’s position on him until it was reported yesterday.
Celtic will be trailing up to 30 players at any point in time, all of whom will have passed one level of scrutiny, but at least 20 of whom would never pass all levels, even if a deal was possible. When players are being scrutinised the position of the club will always be to show courteous interest in proceedings. You and I know what this really amounts to.

So no speculation then, we just have to sit quiet and wait patiently for official announcements from above, anyone complaining about that or speculating even to be laughed out of town.
Having said that, have we signed Johnny Russell yet?

Good man, you’re in charge of getting me on the train!
From what I understand-which usually ain’t much-you may have to look after PFAYR and TROONTIM in that respect too!!!!
Fortunately we will all be on the same train though I suspect we may all end up missing our stops and overnighting in the sidings.

Yes, office is attached to central station. I can dig out the tapes and meet up on Friday if that suits – there might even be a beer in it for you !?
How good is that vid of the Thai Tims. What a superb bunch of kids and a quite superb hall in Reamonn’s memory.

I have pledged to raise £125 for The Celtic Charity.
This frame of Jimmy Johnstone photographs has been donated to me to help me reach my target, and help the charity with the good work that they do.

It is up for auction. If you’d like to make a bid. Please do so.
I will be climbing Ben Nevis on June 15th with other Celtic supporters, where we will do the highest known Huddle ever.
You can also support this charity, and help me reach my pledge by donating on-line here:

Some CQN’ers have already given me donations at the Questions and answers night in Blantyre with Phil Mac Giolla Bhain, Paul Brennan and Paul McConville. As has some patrons of The Cross Keys in Wishaw.
BTW I took a couple of photos of the CQN table that night. I’d like to include them in an article that @CQNMagazine has asked that write regarding this experience. I’ll only include them if none of the people at that table would rather that I didn’t? The piece that I’ll write will include how I raised the money, as well as the walk itself.
Those who know me in person can donate in person.

Heart of a Lion arrived at 1 p.m. today. Open the package and as I saw the book tears filled the eyes. Looked at the signature and compared with the one a got from him in Estoril on 26th May 1967. Little change in the writing.
Incidentally the signature of 1967 is accompanied on a post card by those of every member of the team and the coaching staff and of course Mr Stein’s. It is a souvenir I will cherish for ever.
Thanks BRTH.
and I implore you to take a bottle of this to have as a dessert on it’s own chilled or match it with the sticky toffee pudding. It will a food moment you will not forget
