Promotion and relegation

Raith Rovers finished a comfortable second in the Championship and pushed Dundee United for the title until late in the season, so they deserve a crack in the Premiership playoff tie against Ross County.  Raith have a greater fan base than County, so if they get their act together, should in theory offer more to the top flight.  They are also not located at the farthest reaches of the land…..

While County could he heading into the Championship, the biggest team in the Highlands, Inverness, drop out of the division after losing their playoff against Hamilton Accies.

Just a year ago, Inverness kept their hopes alive in the Scottish Cup Final against Celtic until the final few minutes.  In September they sacked Billy Dodds and appointed Duncan Ferguson, but the former Rangers strikers contrived to see the club relegated to the third their for the first time in quarter of a century.   Ferguson declined to offer his resignation.

*Mrs TT has since told me that its been revealed that she had an Irish Catholic grandfather who NEVER married until the 3rd wean was born hmmmm

Contrast that travesty with David Tennant’s prog…..Who? (Aye -him)……………….

Apparently he had a forebear *cough* in the Belfast ludge….Davie was shown round the bowels of said Gothic monstrosity and then presented with the tradshunal neckwear or “kollarette” worn by his ancestor and THE LOOK Dave gave it, spoke volumes for his revulsion for the sectarian organisation and all that cheap gaudy remnant represented – his modd and demeanor were markedy different when chatting with another relly who’d marched in the Civil Rights protests……………..

*aye forget about that and he seemed more at ease with him than the ludge dwellers

  3. Usual soundbites from politicians. Who cleans up the mess from Transmt or any other large gathering. Never a mention of that when it gives them a chance to stick the boot in. Glasgow Council, the Police and other agencies knew in advance about this gathering and did not, as I understand it, rush to stop it.

Mason mentions fan zones, no doubt unaware or choosing to ignore we’ve only been trying to get one and improve the fan experience around the stadium footprint for years.

That said the moronic element of our support does show us up from time to time.

  4. A little aside:

When I predicted a 1-0 victory for Ross County vs thems, Superbru told me this was an unusual scoreline/prediction yet on Saturday when I predicted a 9-0 in favour of Hertz vs thems it didn’t blink an eye.

Football clubs should be docked points or suffer partial stadium closures to prevent disorder during celebrations, according to a Glasgow MSP.

John Mason, Shettleston SNP MSP, called for football clubs to take responsibility for their fans’ behaviour following tens of thousands of Celtic fans gathering at Glasgow Cross on Saturday.

    —-

    genuinely incredible.

i wonder how many points he wants us docked – it wouldnt be 9 by any chance would it?

    what a total fk-wit.

why on earth should a club suffer points deduction for stuff that happened a few miles from the stadium.

and many of those who were there werent even at the game and so wont be season ticket.holders and so have no tangible connection to the club.

beggers belief that idiots like him can get away with saying shite like that without any real comeback

I Emailed John Mason at the time to ask ” WHY” those Orange Walks were allowed to pollute our streets in Glasgow, playing and singing blood songs while hindering the General Public, and Business Owners from going about their Daily Business etc, etc ?

Mason offered to meet with me over a Pint of Beer in The Shipbank Pub on The Saltmarket to ” Discuss” matters….I NEVER did take him up on his ” Offer” !

I also clicked on ” PAYMENT DETAILS”….but it came up as an ” ERROR” ?

IF you come to The SHIPBANK on Friday 31st May, I could give you my ENTRY FEE in Cash, and maybe you could arrange my Payment. I intend to pay the £20.00 entry Fee, Plus a wee bit extra for Charity of your choice ?

Also, although I have made Payments to ” WALK WITH SHAY” in the Past, I always have to Phone my Bank to arrange ” BANK TRANSFERS”, because I do NOT have a CARD READER, so I always have problems when I try to a Bank Transfer ONLINE, that is why I end up PHONING my Bank….. However, thats NOT a Big Problem.

Please let me know about Payment etc once you have sorted matters with CRC, or IF you will accept the Cash next week in the Pub ?

I read on one of their sites that one of their other keepers – McLaughlin? – contract is up this season and he is probably cover for that. Could be wishful thinking from them.

Been there many a time. There was a renewal of the memorial wall there for the centenary commemorations. My wife’s great uncle Pat Glynn is commemorated there, Commander of the South Roscommon Brigade. He was killed in Ballinlough after taking over the RIC Barracks there. The memorial always reminds me of the old Soviet style statues all over Eastern Europe. It was put up I think in 1966 , 50 years after the Easter Rising.
