“If I hadn’t seen such riches, I could live with being poor.” When Celtic Park hosted the Commonwealth games in 2014, we played Champions League qualifiers at Murrayfield. It was an eye-opener. Entrance and egress, catering and shops, space and the feeling of safety and comfort were a level above what I was used to in the at the back row of the North Stand at Celtic Park (since moved).
Last month, I engaged the club on the need to improve the spectator experience, spend some money, be more like Murrayfield. I received an off the cuff but still detailed response on the millions spent each year to maintain and improve the stadium.
Property maintenance is a continuous job, especially in Scotland for buildings erected in the second half of the 20th century. If you cut corners, you have a bigger job and a higher price to pay down the road.
Newco are caught in a property renovation bind that could be straight out of an episode of Grand Designs. “Billy, a tax accountant from Glasgow, is building an eight-bedroom hovering home and has decided to project manage himself. Billy remembers ordering the steel girders, but the Chinese supplier is no longer answering the phone.” We are right to mock Billy.
You, me and James have seen such riches. We want to sit down in a stadium fit for the middle of the 21st century. What else are we going to do with all those millions?

There is also video evidence of. a post match sing along featuring a certain tax dodging BBC pundit along with others happily singing a sectarian song.
A nasty, vindictive blog today. Will try again tomorrow.
As said previously, I’m in Bowness-On-Windermere for a week and had my Scotland top on, and had a few beers. I was delighted at how many English wished me good luck today!

I think I can make a fair claim to being James Forrest’s biggest fan on here. I was praising him before it was ever fashionable to do so.
However, calls for James to replace Tony Ralston in tonight’s line up are mistaken in my view.
James cannot play as a wing back and is not a great bet for lasting 90 minutes as a starter in a demanding position. He is not tall and is not a good tackler. If James is to play, it will be either as an impact sub, when we need a goal, or as a support to the main striker- the job done by Ryan Christie and John McGann in the last 2 games.
Because of injuries we are stuck with back up options at RB- Ralston & McCrorie- neither are great bets against a Musiala level player.
I think Tony will get the nod because of Ross McCrorie’s greater limitations and because he finished strongly despite his mistake.
If Stevie Clarke were to drop him, I would suggest another strong running tackler in the squad to replace him, even though he has never played the position as far as I know. That player is Stuart Armstrong- taller than James- better engine for the running demands and a decent tackler. He can cross a ball and do cut-backs if needed. The other decent option would have been Kieran Tierney, unfortunately.
I expect a fairly similar line up with McGinn keeping his place and Superstar wee Billy replacing him in midfield. I expect Scott McKenna will get Tierney’s place alongside Handley & Hendry.
In all honesty, the Hungarians have shown up better than us so far and are slight favourites but, with 2 defeats behind, if we can survive the early storm and get the opener ourselves, I can see them becoming less controlled and desperate. The old fascist PM Orban has put a lot of money and identity into Hungarian football- they will be desperate to repay him and their people. They also have a couple of players more skilful than our best.
But, we have the burden of history as a motivator and this particular Scotland squad, much moe limited than any other Scotland team in a tournament finals, will make history tonight but, as with all previous games, it will not be an easy watch or an easy win. Steve Clarke, if it is he, has a major rebuild on his hands when this tourney is over. Time to get some younger players in this squad.
john mcginns hungarian cousins,
that will be used against him tonight, listen for it.
quite funny also, bisgrove was a business genius a mere two weeks ago who is so good he is wanted by the super duper saudis,
and this week he is literally the escaped gaot caught with his trousers down and apron up
and a new “return to ibrox” date is going to be ………….. November.
hahahaha
if they start european group stages in any other stadium they need to use it for all their home games, no one has thought of that yet.
Still to trap for Superbru tonight are:- BelmontBrian63, Celtic Mac, Hamiltontim & Scaniel
Dundee United usually get blamed anaw, same as the Face Painter…
If you believe that all ‘R2ngers men’ are bigots, then perhaps Walter Smith was one. If, on the other hand, you believe only some ‘R2ngers men’ are bigots then perhaps Walter Smith wasn’t one. I knew Walter ‘the R2ngers man’ personally and he never struck me as being anything like a bigot, though I’m sure some of you will have ‘proof’ that he was indeed prejudiced.
what is the daily rental rate for an orange crane
would singing a song about killing catholics and delighted to be up to your knees in their blood be perceived as a tad bigoted ?

I had never heard of him but listened out of curiosity. Unbelievably good. Thanks.
Ticket exchange…..
Many folk on here have no understanding of the positive impact this could have on Overseas Supporters. It would significantly improve our chances of getting a ticket for that one match scheduled on a trip home.
Just saying….

May the great Irish spirit of its great past heroes, RISE to free old Ireland, and get behind the beautiful Irish soul of, UNA McGURK, before the EU, WEF, WHO, NATO, all zio owned and controlled scumbags, do to Ireland what they have done to other great countries like, Lybia, Palestine, etc, far too many to mention.
https://gript.ie/barrister-seeks-orders-from-high-court-delaying-eu-migration-pact-vote-until-referendum/
Ireland will be ruthlessly crushed if these zio glove puppeted planted Government scumbags mentioned above, if they are not either voted out, or preferably, dragged out by the hair and EXAMPLED to the watching world, who back in the day, studied the 1916-1922 Irish Republican guerilla war tactical approach which the great Russian and Chinese Resistance forces, watched how the Irish citizens got the British Army, Black & Tans, etc, etc,….to fck off of the island of Ireland….so then the British Army were trying to destroy the Chinese people with Opium, etc, and the Russian people were watching all of this so they too were ready and waiting to repel the 100,000+ strong British scum army as they tried and failed to invade Russia. 👀️
All of this from 100+ years ago. 👀️
PS, zio bankers are not allowed in to China and Russia to utterly destroy these countries like they are doing all over the West, look what these zio bankers did to the great country of Germany after WW1…Germany dusted itself down and then run from a Corbyn like financial base…giving good standards of living for the beautiful German people.
But…Freemason run countries like, Britain, France, and America, didn’t like the bad look that they were getting from the great success of the German people after WW1…so they sent the zio’s in to utterly destroy the German way of life…leading to WW2. 👀️👀️👀️👀️
So it would be a positive development if the Irish people stood shoulder to shoulder with the very courageous UNA McGURK. 🙏️ 🍀️
PS,The great CANAMALAR as banned from CQN by the clown MOD for merely speaking the truth ie: By saying what Nigel Farage correctly said about the EU and NATO Vermin provoking the Russian bear into defending its people. 👀
Hmmm.

So you have never noticed to stark difference between the celtic way and the rest of the envious around celtic park, ok fine, your right it’s all great, just like the team wonderful, no need to improve anything.
God forbid someone like me wants better for his club both on and off the pitch.

in my random priority list for things needing done on and off the pitch I would put nice landscaping for all the walking footprint probably not in my top 50 of spenind money on.
The Celtic end can reuse all the celtic way paving and personal bricks that will need lifted when we rebuild the main stand.
i am still wanting to know why steps need adeed to the exits for the lisbon lions stand.

Aye indeed. All greats 👍
BRRB, I loved the Neil Peart solo he was the best ever. I was a huge Rush fam from about 12 my brother took me to see them when I was 13 or 14.
He was at uni in Glasgow and I also had my first curry that night in the shish mahal. Brilliant Memories.
After that I saw them every time they played in th uk until about 96. I still listen to the old stuff. I’m currently reading the Geddy Lee autobiography.

At bigger games janefield street is bouncing, I often jump across the car part to get to Springfield Road þo avoid it.perhaps it will reduce issues on janèfield Street during high human traffic 😀
Also took friend with disability to game last year, got parking at janefield Street, trying pushing a wheelchair on gravel and you might see the benefit of improvements for others, it’s perhaps not ýour priority but if I had a disability or mobility issues it would be a major issue.
Lack of parking is also an issue, again perhaps not for you but for others with mobility issues and for residents I.e. reduce on street parking.
football clubs the length of Britain, Europe and America are making use of every financial advantage they can, celtic can or they can go backwards.
Ps kilmarnock owed the hotel Billy Bowie as part of his investment got in on it, it was and is a money maker
