“If I hadn’t seen such riches, I could live with being poor.” When Celtic Park hosted the Commonwealth games in 2014, we played Champions League qualifiers at Murrayfield. It was an eye-opener. Entrance and egress, catering and shops, space and the feeling of safety and comfort were a level above what I was used to in the at the back row of the North Stand at Celtic Park (since moved).
Last month, I engaged the club on the need to improve the spectator experience, spend some money, be more like Murrayfield. I received an off the cuff but still detailed response on the millions spent each year to maintain and improve the stadium.
Property maintenance is a continuous job, especially in Scotland for buildings erected in the second half of the 20th century. If you cut corners, you have a bigger job and a higher price to pay down the road.
Newco are caught in a property renovation bind that could be straight out of an episode of Grand Designs. “Billy, a tax accountant from Glasgow, is building an eight-bedroom hovering home and has decided to project manage himself. Billy remembers ordering the steel girders, but the Chinese supplier is no longer answering the phone.” We are right to mock Billy.
You, me and James have seen such riches. We want to sit down in a stadium fit for the middle of the 21st century. What else are we going to do with all those millions?

gates and fences exist today, they are what i would call the small allocation – south west corner 120,121 – 1500 allocations.
or the old rangers visit standard a third of the lisbon lions stands and the corenr = 7000,
so the new fencing and gates placements section of an outside entrance and egress for a 3,000 wedge allocations,
the steps just dont make sense.
anyways as with others, i would have preffered none of thems for ever and ever.
looking at the footprint on the google earth, i wonder f there is some thinking to bus tehm into dalriada street, park as close to the ground as possible, and stop them running riot down springfield road as they did previously, like celtic supporters being bussed in to there dreadful corner .
saint stivs
Dont remember gates at 120-121 but I’m rarely round that way. You are right about the existing gates near to where away fans enter in the SE, and also further round to the East but the latter gates are rarely used these days. No I’m wondering about additional fences, and these steps down to Dalriada Road. Not sure what is going on there, unless it’s part of a return to the Old Firm days, sounds like it.

No hun in Paradise. Ever again.

The steps don’t make sense to me.
Well that’s a relief.
Lol.
Cheers tom.
What I mean is.
There was no steps there before. Why. Would they need added now.
Has the ground sunk ? Has the exit gatebeen lifted up.
I demand to know

Well done Glasgow Warriors. URC Champions 👏👏
Getting a bit pissed off at how slow we are as a club. Pre season starts next week , yet we have not signed idah or Bernardo, typical or what.
Get the finger out ffs
Bored with all this Euro stuff….
It’s coming up to that time of the year and let’s be honest … the poor soles haven’t had much to celebrate….
So…
Why don’t we send them all here, it’s not quite Rwanda but sure the good folks of Belize would love to celebrate with them….
It’s was probably not number one on my must go to list …. but might be visiting this area soon…
not sure if it sounds a bit … erm……hun like
Orange Walk Town is the fourth largest town in Belize, with a population of about 13,400. It is the capital of the Orange Walk District. Orange Walk Town is located on the left bank of the New River, 53 miles north of Belize City and 30 miles south of Corozal Town

Nothing will happen until our new FY which started on 1st July
Good evening all from the Queens Park Cafe. A fine Saturday in old Glasgow Town. Life can’t get any better.
And only 4 weeks since this.

same issue and same complaint every year.
It is really easy to sign early- Sevco showed us how to do that – a goalie and a midfielder in already and some wonder kids on the way.
We could easily have bought Liam Kelly and Connor Barron and the wonderkids. Did you want them or did you want better?
If you wanted better- those guys have options- they are not going to come to Celtic until they and their agents have investigated and compared with lots of other clubs that want them too. They do not often choose early but sometimes they do, especially if they know that Celtic is the best offer they are going to get at this stage of their career and, especially if they are going to improve their earnings.
Otherwise, you wait and get better. Or you pay more for the b and C list players than they are worth.
None of us know the state of negotiations with Benfica and Norwich. Looks like we have a willing seller and a player willing to come in Bernardo. Maybe the deal has been done but the parties want to time the announcement. Maybe it’s hit a last minute snag.
But there is no advantage to the club in having the signing this week. There’s no-one training at Lennoxtown yet and there won’t be a full contingent of first teasers training till they’ve had their rest and holidays after International commitments are over for Scotland, Canada, USA & Japan.
There are some virtues to patience.
first teasers are first teamers

Pa Broon, the Ayrshire Rag n Bone Man, Gavin Masterton, James Crosby, and Peter Cummings……Sic a parcel o rogues if I ever did see one….
Peter Cummings from the Peoples Republic of Brucehill and a St Patrick’s FP came from humble beginnings, joining Bank of Scotland in 1973 as a tea boy, almost 20 years before it merged with Halifax to become HBOS, but he rose rapidly thought the ranks.
As head of the corporate division, he became known as the banker to the stars, with a glittering client list including retail tycoon Sir Philip Green and property entrepreneur Robert Tchenguiz.
A friend of Cummings said: ‘He has been totally unfairly treated; how can one man be blamed for everything that went wrong?’, Cummings himself was also critical of the regulator’s failure to act and of the inexperience of its staff.
McCoist calling De Bruyne offside because he was offside when he received the ball, but the pass came a long way without anyone touching it, so he was well onside.
McCoist hasn’t a clue.
Tom
I thought the Belgian defender headed it back towards his own goal after de Bruyne played it as well.
tontine tim
Unless I am very much mistaken Peter Cummings was the only one, the only one involved in the collapse of the GB banking system who got any kind of punishment, fined £500 grand by the FCA.
Pa Broon? Just been awarded the Companion of Honour.
Rag n Bone man? Still got his knighthood, still a tax dodger…..
KINGLUBO
Do you really think Celtic can just decide to sign players and their current clubs have no say in the matter?
Idah was at Celtic on loan until end of season. He is under contract to Norwich who have just taken on a new manager. He will want to evaluate his squad when they return for pre-season. If, and it’s a big if, the Canaries decide to sell, then negotiations can begin.

Sorry mate but that doesn’t make any sense to me.
Tom
Sorry, total mince.
When the long ball was in the air towards the penalty box, the defender stretched and the ball hit his head before it reached De Bruyne.
Is the Frimpong money in yet !?🤔🤣🤣
Does Murrayfield have VAR asking for a friend ?
Ludicrous decision against Lukaku for the second goal. Another example of something so marginally spurious and not standing up to any form if scrutiny, the referee’s. decision should take precedence from live play.
The technological ‘advances’ have reduced offside to a farce.
