If we are looking for reasons why Celtic have dropped so many points in recent weeks it is revealing that we have not kept a clean sheet away in the league since Boxing Day, and that was to bottom club Dundee.
Losing goals, of course, is seldom about the last line of defence, and losing goals this consistently is seldom even an issue with defence, in dominant teams, defenders are seldom taxed. It is more likely a consequence of the shape of the team. Goalkeepers should be protected, as should defences.
It’s the midfield we should be looking at. Dominate possession and stop leaving spaces for the opposition to exploit; we’ll stop losing goals and start winning games.

Anyways to serious matters, was in the big town today, had to go to the bank, parked up, and some officious traffic warden wannabe decided that he was going to ticket me, fair enough, I didny think 5 mins in the bank was worth a euro, no change, so the ticket is for 3.50 euros, I told him to go forth etc, he ranted, I laughed, stalemate, I won’t be paying the 3.50 fine, they won’t chase me for it….now that is wrong, totally wrong, but it’s just the way it is…..so in reality I have no right slagging off the huns.

I admire Mulgrew’s honesty.
It shows real confidence. If I were a pro player I’d want to play as many big games as possible. The league is great in as much as a good few teams fighting for 2nd but none of them can really challenge Celtic.
Mulgrew could have lied or worse given a non committal type response but he didn’t . He gave an honest answer. He wants to play big games that test him…
Why are people so convinced that what Charlie Mulgrew was REPORTED to have said was his honest opinion?
Maybe his REPORTED response was dictated by his concern for the health and welfare of his loved ones.

Reading the majority of posters on this blog recently would kind of depress you.
Three years ago we had a caretaker manager, a useless team (and squad), had just lost out on our third championship and got beaten in the cup semi final by Ross County. We needed to completely overhaul the squad and had no money to do so. 6 months later we got stuffed in the Champions League qualifiers by Braga and in the Europa League by Utrecht. Those were depressing times!!!
We now have an excellent young manager (who granted still makes mistakes), a decent squad, some very good first team players, a couple of very promising youth team players, we are in a solid financial position (no debt), we are about to win our second championship in a row, we have had a memorable Champions League campaign and could still win a double.
Instead of looking at the negatives at the minute (i.e. Juventus result and losing a couple of players this summer) we should be focusing on the positives.
I for one am looking forward to winning the league, a cup semi final, seeing some of the younger players in the last few league games, the Champions League qualifiers, getting rid of some of the deadwood in the squad (Zaluska, Rogne, McCourt, Lassad, Miku), hopefully seeing Forrest and Watt develop into top class homegrown talent, new signings for next season (we will have to sign at least 3 or 4 this season).
If you can’t find the positives in being a Celtic fan right now I’m not sure if you’ll ever be happy. Obviously there’s things to work on but overall we are in a great place!!
I forgot to add into my last little piece that I’m not as concerned with losing players as other people seem to be.
We have been told for some time that we are adopting a model similar to the one Porto have been operating on for the last 10 years.
Over that timeframe Porto have consistently sold there best players but have managed to win 9 out of the last 12 championships, 1 Champions League and 2 Europa League (incl 2003 UEFA cup).
If we look at only there strikers in the past 3-4 years they have sold Lisandro Lopez (cost 2M, sold for 20M), Falcao (cost 4M, sold for 40M), Hulk (cost 15M, sold for 50M) and used the Hulk money to buy Jackson Martiez who has scored 28 goals in 31 games for them so far this season.
There’s no guarantee this model will work for us and I’m sure there will be seasons where we are are not as good as the season before but overall it’s worth a try.
If in theory we get 20m for Hooper and Wanyama this summer and reinvest 15m of it in new players it will be interesting to see if the squad is stronger next season. We may weaken those individual positions but strenghten the team/ squad overall!! Or we not….
