PSG have yet to be asked questions

494

Friday night is the new Saturday afternoon, apparently. Celtic, Paris Saint-Germain and Anderlecht all play tomorrow evening. Only Bayern Munich from our Champions League group have a weekend game; on Saturday, so there will be little advantage gained from the earlier domestic kick-off.

PSG are away to Metz, near the German border. Whereas PSG are top of Ligue 1, having won all their games, Metz are anchored at the bottom, the only team yet to take a point. This game is a perfect opportunity for PSG to rest players who have been busy on international duty, before the trip to Glasgow. Celtic’s scouts will be able to observe the shape of their forthcoming opponents, but the intensity of the game will not come close to what we see at Celtic Park.

Immediately before the international break, PSG beat Saint Etienne 3-0 in Paris. It is one measure of a good team to win comfortably even when not playing well. PSG achieved this against Le Verts, but there was encouragement for Brendan Rodgers in this game. This was also the only league game PSG have played against a team who have not lost at least half of their matches so far.

Without having to go through the trauma of Champions League qualifiers, the notion persists that PSG have yet to be asked questions this season. They may be able to revel in the joys of having signed two exciting new strikers, but great teams are made of durable cohesion, not striking bling.

  1. €30 is roughly £27.50.

So £82.50 for 3 match package.

    That is fairer.

    As for the upper pricing!

How much are they charging Celtic fans?

ST holders having first dibs on a ticket is a given and rightly so, but the add on incentive of another pop at packages before the general sale should be scrapped.

    ————————————————–

A(greed)….was looking forward to a general sale for non-st holders….but £50 bangers a pop is too much to ask….but to have a nominal amount for sale to create demand…. meant that the PLC could charge whatever the hell they wanted….knowing they would sell out (pardon the pun) ;-))

This time stadiums / arenas in Detroit.

The latest one — opening soon — is the LCA for the local hockey team.

Follows on from the design vibe of Ford Field in that it tries to fit in with the surroundings making use of existing frontages with large amounts of covered circulation Space and fan facilities.

We are way behind with our facilities.

The upcoming CL games show the draw of the team but we do not have the infrastructure to make the most of it.

    Surely thinking caps on?

A new £50mill main stand extension is 5 years away but 5K m2 of fan facilities is 2 years away.

A large stadium surrounded by tarmac and parking is a huge waste.

  5. Although I was delighted with the leaked letter in The Times this morning, I was left wondering about the timing.

That was until I heard about the SFA “no raking the coals” statement. IMO Celtic would have known this in advance and struck first.

The battle lines are now drawn. Time for Celtic and all of the other member clubs (em all but one) to go for it.

If he asks Bryson it will save him a lot of time , imperfect registration reasoning, if the SFA think this will suffice i.e. one licence period they are very wrong.

  11. I mentioned last night that myself and Paul Dykes are going behind the scenes with BT Sport at Hamilton tomorrow.

We have to be there at 4pm and will stay on to well after the supporters have left. We will get the chance to speak to everyone involved from producers, presenters, commentator and pundits etc.

I don’t see much of BT Sport other than the away European matches as I am usually at the game. Therefore if anyone has any comments, suggestions, feedback, ideas etc for us to pass on then let me know.

I also mentioned the interview with Chris Morris on the new CQN Podcast. Chris talks really well and you will love his insight into the centenary season.

The boys describe that goal in the New Year’s Day (2nd Jan) against them brilliantly.

    McStay, Morris, McAvennie, GOAL!

  12. In the Statement the SFA actually mention taking over the coals of the ‘last 6 years’ – that’s ok then – Rankers use of illegal tax dodging to get better players than they could afford was going on way before that!

    Nat Know

I think we agree on pretty much everything you just said.

As it stands those who turn up and pay every week do get first dibs to be over charged.

Most will stretch to £38 as has been proven. I did this year, not stretch but decide to pay up as my bhoy Mohamed and moaned and moaned until I gave in at 3pm on Saturday. Last year I didn’t at lesser prices and watch on the vision box.

It was a close call this year. Higher again next year as I expect it will be if we qualify then I think I won’t no matter the pressure from my bhoy.

I just believe anything above £30 is ripping the pish!!!

    ————————————————————————————-

    Fair enough mate. :-)))

All the best to you and Mo….

The letter to SFA from PL is a surprise for me, a welcome one but still a surprise. I suppose the SFA TAKING 5 yrs to answer is normal, now that they have stuck up 2 fingers and shouted GIRFUY Celtic. We can expect another leaked letter in 2022 or there about.

Now all we need is a leaked letter from CFC calling on SPL to appeal LNS commission decision. They did call for it didn’t they?

  15. The media as a block are lined up to support the SFA on this, and it is not because fans are sick of it, how would they know what fans think, the SFA are trying to brass neck it out, to save their own skins and those of Ogilvie who is still employed by UEFA. What Mclaughlin has said is typical of that excuse for a journo.

Treble Winning Captains, seeing as you’re not needing it can I have your ticket for my grandson? :))

  17. Jobo

You’d need to be add your nut to spend that to watch Celtic play international matches for Scotland.

In my view as a club we should be comparable to no other club. We should stand alone and reward the support rather than milk it dry at a time when we are raking in millions more than any one of our competitors in the SPFL. Given the disparity of TV monies to the top leagues we are not going to ever compete with them for the £600k extra milked from the fans and that £600k isn’t going to make a difference to compete in Scotland.

The bonus may be good though.

  19. Did Celtic charge different prices when they started for the purpose of raising money for the poor?
