PUKKI EARNS PRAISE (and hopefully a move!)
CELTIC’S Finnish flop Teemu Pukki has been hailed by Brondby – after scoring his first goal in eight games.
Head coach Thomas Frank us urging the club to make the striker’s loan move permanent and claimed he was “international class”.
Pukki, who cost £3million from Schalke in August 2013, ended his barren run with the first goal in his club’s 2-0 win at Silkeborg in the Danish Superliga.
Frank said: “My attitude towards Brondby’s board has always been that we should keep him. It is right, though, in that he has scored too few goals.
“But, in my opinion, he is international class and should be good for 10 to 15 goals per season.”
Pukki has netted seven league goals for third-placed Brondby and two in the national Cup tournament.
His contract at the Hoops runs until the summer of 2017, but Ronny Deila would accept a third of the club’s initial outlay for a player who has failed to impress.
