I have to say that from a football point of view, I enjoyed that game. Scotland with its limited ability did its best, whereas Croatia played like the quality team it is . How they managed to lose to England amazes me. I think I’ll have a wee bet on Croatia now.

CalMac got us back into the game at a time when Croatia were giving us a football lesson, but we went out in the second half doing the same thing, unable to read the game, or indeed the key plays. I’m guessing we started out the weakest team in the group, in through the back door and all, problem is we ended up the same way.
Why don’t the SFA send a delegate to Croatia to study their footballing ethos from grassroots to professional leagues and international games? For a country of their size they punch well above their weight.
We on the other hand, by and large, are shit in comparison.

Ach well glorious defeat again. Afraid I put this solely down to the manager. Croatia had most of the control of the midfield in the first half. The few times that Scotland did press Croatia in the first half their defence looked suspect. I was expecting the Scotland manager to make changes at half time in either formation or personnel to close Croatia down in the midfield and put their suspect defence under pressure. Inexplicably Clarke did not do this. A very good opportunity to progress to the next round squandered in my humble opinion.
