Questions for SFA as they inadvertently spotlight Nimmo Smith evidence

393

I know you don’t need to rehearse the Resolution 12 debate as you’ll know it instinctively now, but, as always, we are indebted to eyes outside of Scotland calling for insight and governance in the Scottish game on an issue only tangentially related.

Yesterday, The Offshore Game, ran a report that the SFA may have misled the Lord Nimmo Smith Commission inquiry into Rangers failure to register players on an industrial scale during their EBT years.

While the SFA were swatting away questions into how Rangers were cleared to participate in Uefa competitions in 2011, less than a year before disappearing into insolvency, chief operating officer, Andrew McKinlay inadvertently turned the spotlight on the reliability of evidence placed before Lord Nimmo Smith.

Questions around the awarding of Rangers Uefa licence in 2011 were asked in the dark as no one outside the club, SFA and Uefa knew what information had been submitted, and the SFA didn’t know what the club submitted to Uefa.

There was a belief that the club may have not disclosed a letter concerning the Wee Tax Case from HMRC to the SFA in 2011. Mr McKinlay wrote to the requisitioners saying that he “did not accept that” this information was not brought to the SFA’s attention in 2011 – two years before Nimmo Smith sat.

This assertion tidied up the Res 12 issue at Hampden, but as The Offshore Game makes clear, why on earth did the SFA’s evidence to Lord Nimmo Smith on the Wee Tax Case not reflect the correspondence they had on file? In short, it was accepted by all that schemes scrutinised by the Wee Tax Case were unlawful.

Nimmo Smith didn’t hear this, in fact, he heard was that Rangers tax schemes were legal, and concluded, therefore, as any other club could have used them, no sporting advantage was accrued.

The Offshore Game call for scrutiny of the SFA over this by the parliamentary Culture, Media and Sport select committee. This call will be magnified should the Supreme Court uphold HMRC’s position on the Big Tax Case.

  1. If the hacks had any sense of integrity they would be looking at the pre-Regan years at the SFA when the national association turned a blind eye to the goings on at the Establishment club. The SFA were only interested in one club in Scotland to the detriment of our national sport both at national level and club level.

Every club in Scotland was spending above its means, bringing in expensive foreign imports, to the detriment of the development of young Scottish players in order to keep up with the now defunct RFCIL.

We all knew we were being cheated but we didn’t realise it was on an industrial scale at the time – we know now. We were labelled paranoid. Funny old thing you don’t hear that term being bandied about now.

    1. Strip the titles

    2. Compensate the clubs who lost money due to their cheating.

    3. Place those asterisks next to the stolen trophies with an explanation why.

    4. Point out to sevco that they are indeed a new club and have never won a major Scottish trophy in their short existence.

    5. Place an enema in the rectum of the SFA and have a good clear out.

Glad to see Res12 juggernaut on track and dykes beginning to break. Lets keep our eyes on the main aim. No side-tracking, no deviation, no divertions.

Solidly behind our bold Resolutioners and grateful to them for their perseverance. HH

  3. Thank you to the Resolutioners from across the sea. It’s difficult to define the debt we as Tims all owe to you, but I’m sure time will at least reveal the extent of your efforts, dedication and patience… :-)

It’s amusing reading the consternation from those that recently popped up to bleat about the progress that’s been made. A sure sign there’s panic in the rolled up trooser ranks.

That which you resist persists. The future is bleak for certain cheats.

Can the Res 12 guys please state their mothers Maidens name and the name of their first pet? It’s only fair they disclose everything. We have a right to know!

A very warm welcome to you.

So you may have to make do with what you are allocated :-))))

I take it prospective members of Torrance Park GC need to know how old there granny is?

No, but if you are a Celtic shareholder could you please let Kill Ultra know how old your granny is, please?

  10. Good evening friends.

All of my grandparents are dead. As are my parents. Sorry, what was the question again?

  11. Can someone post Paul 67’s CQN email address.

As one of the original requisitioners I have made a sworn Masonic pact with my fellow requisitioners to say heehaw to anybody. That includes my grannies’ waist measurement and shoe size.

So I’m sorry Kill Ultra is onto plums.

    Timaloy29,

    Thanks for the reply.

I think we all have a fair idea of why the SMSM avoided the whole Res12, Offshore Game report and all the other arrows that pointed towards Hampden.

I was always a bit of a puzzle why the English media, including the big hitters, also avoided the issue.

As Paul 67 may remember, a few years ago, I was in contact with David Hills of the Observer.

He seemed interested and said he had raised it on two occasions at editorial level……..then nothing.

I am coming/ have come to the conclusion that an interdict/injuction has been served on the whole thing, possibly pending the completion of legal affairs.

  17. thomthethim for Oscar OK on

Has anyone claimed the book rights for Res 12?

There is a best seller in this and I’m sure someone, maybe Jonathon Wilson will pen it.

  18. TTT

I take a different view, a self imposed silence on this subject by the media as it would otherwise lead to people who are being protected, Level 5 all over it in my opinion

  19. BRTH at the end of the last blog asked Kill Ultra to explain to us all the concerns he has relating to at least two of the Res12 boys.

It is probably fair to believe that these two are Auldheid and BRTH.

Previously BRTH offered to answer any concerns that Kill Ultra may have via email.

Neither offer has been taken up.

The last time Kill Ultra didn’t want to outline his concerns as he didn’t want to damage Celtic.

He has accused BRTH of being a board plant and somehow connect to the Celtic PLC. He seemed to confuse the work BRTH does for the Celtic Foundation. Indeed earlier in the year BRTH addressed this point directly to Kill Ultra.

In the summer he took the same points to the Scottish Football Monitor site. After a few days they closed his subject down as he failed to specify the allegations.

Now he tells us he is going to write to Peter Lawwell to make his point. If he is correct and BRTH and Auldheid are PLC plants designed to protect and maintain the Old Firm buck, then Lawwell is hardly going to admit it is he?

Nor is he going to tell those of us who have had to endure these attacks on two outstanding Celtic men who stood up to cheating only to be undermined on a regular basis by this one poster.

And don’t forget that the state aid nutter has used the same narrative to attack Res12.

Doc met Papajohn who vouched for Kill Ultra.

That should be good enough but it works both ways. Who on here can vouch for BRTH and Auldheid?

So what is the way forward for Kill Ultra’s accusations that remain undetailed?

    1. Post them on here as BRTH requested at lunchtime. BRtH will answer each point and we will all be free to make our own minds up.

    2. Every time there is news on Res12, Kill Ultra can come on and make his allegations and another debate will start up. United we stand eh?

    3. Paul makes a call on the matter – just as SFM did in just two days – and give Kill Ultra the opportunity to post his allegations or alternatively to keep it off CQN in the future.

If there are other options please post them for discussion.
