CALLUM McGREGOR could make a quickfire comeback for Celtic against Dundee United at Tannadice on Sunday afternoon.
Injury forced the influential Hoops captain to sit out the Scottish Cup quarter-final penalty-kick shoot-out win at Ibrox and then the 3-1 Premiership success over Motherwell at Parkhead last weekend.
There were fears McGregor could remain on the sidelines for a lengthy period with a troublesome calf strain, but the 32-year-old anchorman looks to be set to take his usual place against Jim Goodwin’s side on Tayside, according to a report in the Scottish Sun.

Martin O’Neill utilised Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the pivotal role in the past two games with Reo Hatate also helping out.
However, a return by the club captain will be the boost the champions require as a turbulent campaign nears its climax.
At the moment, O’Neill’s men are two points behind Hearts with eight matches to play. The Edinburgh side face Dundee at Tynecastle tomorrow afternoon before third-placed Rangers, a point adrift of the Hoops, take on Aberdeen at Ibrox in the 5.45pm kick-off.
All eyes will then be on Tannadice on Sunday where the visitors, during Wilfried Nancy’s wretched 33-day reign, lost 2-1 in December.
Julian Araujo, who missed the win over the Fir Park side, is still a doubt while Arne Engels is not expected to return until after the forthcoming international break.
