It is a quirk of fixture scheduling that the farthest Celtic travel before December is Edinburgh. Exerting travel, like last week’s journey to Bergamo, will not interrupt our preparations as we compete on three fronts in the week ahead.
The rest of Scottish football’s attention will be elsewhere when we take on Dundee at Celtic Park tomorrow, but focus will return to Glasgow for Saturday’s League Cup semifinal against Aberdeen, and for our Champions League game at home to Leipzig, one week from today.
The win at Motherwell was doubly welcome as it was an away game after an away European tie, statistically when teams are most likely to drop points. The other interesting dynamic is that our next two matches are against teams who are not practiced at playing two games a week.
While Celtic coasted to a win at Motherwell, Dundee had a battle against St Johnstone before losing to a 90th minute goal. Celtic Park tomorrow is Dundee’s first midweek game since July. The same is true of Aberdeen. They also went to the last kick of the ball against Dundee United at the weekend, will doubtlessly have an engaging tussle tomorrow, before pitching up to face the Champions on Saturday.
We have the bigger squad and playing two games a week is our norm. Let’s make the most of the scheduling quirk and arrive for our next Champions League tie in top condition.

Surely we don’t need another midfielder
Good day,Aipple,
How is election frenzy gripping old Kentucky.I am getting addicted to CNN.
MAGIC….Celtic v Dundee IS available on Celtic TV ( PPV ) in the UK Tomorrow night.
Ive just paid the £12.99. Hopefully, the Celts will go marching on to Victory.
HH.
ELECTION…
MON the KAMALA.
No doubt TRUMP and his NUTJOB Followers will cause Violent mayhem in the USA, if Kamala Harris Wins.
Lock Him UP….
Morning TURKEYBHOY.
Did you catch the “pager” comment on CNN yesterday? Shocking stuff.
Kentucky is a Trump state sadly but Louisville a very progressive city and we have a democratic guv’nor. Some say he’s a potential presidential candidate in the future.
By a wee quirk of fate I will be in Florida for work the Monday after the election. Just a few miles from Mar a Lago. Probably the worst place to be no matter the result.
Gene,
We always need another midfielder, especially of that quality. And that boy is quality.Calmac getting on,Maybe Hatate will fancy something new,or big bad other teams will lure them away.Who knows, but we can get him at a price that we can afford to wait.Leave him at Motherwell .Then a year with a step up.Cannot afford to lose this chance.
TRUMP the CHUMP and his ” Fight, Fight, Fight ” Crap……
He would run a Mile if offered a ” SQUARE GO”.
Whit a TIT.

Yes, it’s important to remember this squad is a work in progress, with lot’s of potential. We have a good mix though and the fact we have a very experienced SPL midfield operator in Luke McCowan and young midfield players with top tier potential… these games can really give challenges and experience to the squad.

🎙️| Brendan Rodgers 🍀💚
“There’s critics in the game and people have opinions, I respect that. For me, we’ve brought in a young player who is nowhere near the finished article.
With the price tag on him coming here, many might think he’s the finished article but he isn’t. He’s came here as a twenty year old boy, he’s got great potential and it’s my job and the staff here to develop that.
He’s went from playing one game a week to coming to a big club, where there is lots of pressure and expectations and you can feel it sometimes. It’s only natural.
We had the same with Nicolas Kühn. I am so, so happy Arne chose to come here and, in his short time here, I think we’ve seen that he’s going to be an important player for us.”

Sign Lennon Miller
——-
What if he wants first team football like James Wulson of Hearts who is roughly the same age. ?
Aipple,
Unless you get invited to a party.Nudge,nudge.
😍😍😍😍😍

TURKEYBHOY, GENE…
Lennon Miller at just turned eighteen has great potential and we need to sign him, we have made the mistake of letting good young Scottish talent go and loosing out.
There was a rumour that we are buying him in January and loaning him back to Motherwell.
Now, that sounds like a plan…
Hail Hail
GREENPINATA @ 12:18 PM, 🖕🖕
Just read that Motherwell are not appealing against their red card. You know you are not onto a winner when even the panel on sportscene say it’s a red !
Although you have to question the mentality of the player attempting that assault so last in the game and 3:0 down, nutter or thug 🙄🤔
GP,
As I said, leave him at Well, till the end of the season.See how it pans out next summer.
He has his future secured.
Better to try than watch somebody else take him from under our noses.
Both.
Aipple,
When I tuned in the lovely Miss Soares was on about the pile of garbage in the Ocean.Puerto Rico,by another name. She was outraged.
That Trump mob,dear God.
We don’t need Lennon miller.
TB – Agreed. Miller looks like a great prospect though he did little on Sunday after his two early shots off the woodwork. Having a good young Scottish player on the books is never a bad thing and plenty of ex-pros are saying he is the best young Scottish player in the SPFL. I know over on FF they are desperate to sign him though I think he is already out of their budget. Motherwell will want 3-4 million for him at least. Maybe more.
Its Atatürk day here today.Loads of celebrations going on.Bands parading everywhere.Strange thing is,everyone has a Trumpet or Bugle.
Never catch on.
Sadly my wee Windae Cleaner ” Wee WULLIE” from Castlemilk died a couple of years ago.
I havent been able to find another Windae Cleaner since. Wullie used to have number of Clients in and around the SALTMARKET area for many years, including The SHIPBANK Pub.
Frankie the owner of the SHIPBANK told me a few years ago about ” Wee WULLIE” having a nasty accident a while back.
Wee WULLIE loved the BEVVY, and would often be seen in local Pubs early ( Those that opened at 8am ), drinking BEFORE starting his Windae Cleaning round for that particular day.
Directly above the SHIPBANK Pub ( 12 feet approx up ), is a relatively wide Ledge. One day Wee Wullie was ” Hawf Cut” and was cleaning the Windeas of some Flats directly above the Pub while using this Ledge.
Frankie told me that he had served some Beers etc to Wullie that very morning, in between Wullies trips to the other local Pubs.
Out of nowhere Frankie heard a Scream and a heavy thump coming from outside, and he raced out of the Pub to find Wee Wullie lying on the pavement in some pain and shock…….Wee Wullie had Fallen AFF the wide Ledge.
Happily, although unhurt Wee Wullie was in a state of shock by the sudden Fall, and he abandoned the rest of his round of Windae cleaning for the day, and just continued drinking in the Shipbank to ease any pain he may have been in that day !
R.I.P. Wee Wullie….you are sadly missed.
HH.
We’ve already got 5 young midfielders in the B squad, 4 of which are Scottish.
Lennon Miller has the style and the stature of Tom Rogic.
You can never have enough good players,LM is Scottish too, forget about Sevco, they couldn’t afford Willie Miller right now
McGregor trained today, maybe bench tomorrow, try keep him for Saturday
Seems fanciful that you’d release Liam Kelly Roco Vata or Bosun Lawal, so you could give Motherwell £3M or £4M for Lennon Miller. Did he touch the ball again after his freekick? Nobody knows if these young players can make the step up to Celtic, and you only need to look at David Turnbull for a recent answer.
I’d like to think Luke McCowan was the better choice.
Good article Paul.
A glance at the fixture schedule coming up shows we have 22 matches in 96 days.
Full on.
Squad capacity and intelligent squad management will be important.
“Lennon Miller has the style and the stature of Tom Rogic”
Now there’s a reason not to sign him three good games in five years
One big difference between Miller and our B squad players is Miller has played 50 senior games for Motherwell (league and cup) and is now considered their best player. Our B squad players are playing at non-league level.
If we happen to be interested in Miller, there is plenty of evidence of his progression since he was 16 which will give a good indication of his future potential. Brendan has seen him up close a few times now, guess we’ll find out soon enough whether he rates him or not.
Turkeybhoy re: dodgy parties
I may have mentioned that my grandmother walked barefoot to school with Trump’s mother. If only we had known.
Re disciplinary query
If Motherwell took it to the disciplinary panel
Where,at present he is on a 2 game ban
Could the panel increase his 2game to 3 or 4 for
example?
Just wondering

BOURNESOUPRECIPE @ 1:14 PM,
Celtic seem to have re-jigged the way they view football prospects.
Did BR&Co look at Liam, Rocco and Bosun and see good young players that needed a lot of hard work and development to be at a sufficient standard.
When Celtic talked to them about their future at the Club, did they lads want to talk about hard work and development, or did they want to talk about first team game time and first team wages?
There was a great interview with Luke McCowan post match Motherwell.
https://youtu.be/wW01tdPDNSE?si=R8-uUMwxhbLeWEFC
Even though he was the big kuhuna and Captain at Dundee and twenty seven, he was humble, knew he had a lot to learning and development to be considered for a Celtic starter berth and knew he could learn from senior players as well as the coaches and manager.
That’s what Celtic are looking for… unfortunately in Scottish football you have a dozen Tony Watts to one Luke McCowan
Hail Hail
