Raith call out SFA plans for Appellate Tribunal

1262

You wonder if Ally McCoist rues the day he called for the public outing of members of the SFA Judicial Panel which imposed a player registration ban on his club.  One judge, one journalist and one football club, Raith Rovers, were soon outed.  Crossing the Fifers was a mistake.

Raith Rovers are now pointing out the same facts we have discussed here for months:

“We are also concerned that there has not as yet been an opportunity for clubs to receive legal advice from the SFL and/or debate the potential consequences on the smooth running of our league in the event that the Courts are asked to annull/strike down any of the corporate transactions that have led to the current position of Sevco Scotland Ltd as owners of certain assets of the Rangers oldco.

“Indeed, the position as regards the potential sanctions to be applied by the Scottish FA via its Appellate Tribunal has also still to be bottomed out.”

In short, Sevco’s ownership of Ibrox may be nullified by the courts and the SFA will be forced to subvert judicial oversight if it wants to guarantee Sevco participate in football next season.

While these concerns were only expressed online, the SFA were able to ignore the issue, but with Raith Rovers asking the questions Mr Regan will have to look SFL clubs in the eye and tell them what he’s going to do with Lord Carloway.

Lurgan 53

Dwyer O’Hagan, or Lurgan 53 as he was known here, passed away on Wednesday after an illness stretching back to last year.  Dwyer enjoyed our triumphs and defeats on the blog for many years and will be sadly missed by us all.  Our condolences to his family and friends.

Do you genuinely even SUSPECT that the club has washed it’s hands of the matter?

We are now in a position where the majority of the game-through default,admittedly-is in step, and you come out with a comment like that?

Celtic have rarely been friends with the other clubs, and we .are not friends at the moment.

They are conflicted. There is absolutely no need to alienate them now.

Quite the opposite, I would say…….

That I simply do not understand but FIFA cannot ignore this proposal as it contravenes all four points in Article 19.

If they allow a member associatiion to ignore FIFA Statutes what next a penalty spot 6 foot from goal?

Alext T has tweeted he is asking FIFA but no one at home right now. so more to come

What about the ignorance of FIFA rules shown by the SFA

If its not ignorance have they have been given the OK by FIFA?

I hope you are right mi amigo.

I want them gone, as I know you do, I just can’t see it being allowed to happen.

Fan power is a wonderfull powerfull weapon, but the problem the smaller clubs have is their lack of fans who can exert pressure on their boards.

Personally I don’t think enough pressure is being laid at the door of the fraud that has and is being commited, it seems to have taken a back seat in the save the hun campaign.

    TET,

I am more interested in what we do, than what they do.

In saying that, I genuinely think that life in Div 1, would create a major dichotomy for their fans.

Do they back Green , in which case they will be stuck with him for 4/ 5 years, or do they not back him, in the hope that Brown / Walter etc get in sooner ?

Can’t help think that Green reminds me of the last days of the Kelly empire, whereby whatever they did, the fans wouldn’t support them , and we stumbled along for 18 months longer than necessary.

Just my opinion, but, I could foresee life in Div1 is actually more of a punishment.

The SFA’s ignorance of the rules was shown up by Paul McBride, does Campbell Ogilvie think he can ride this storm out and stay in place, is it actually a case of being so far gone that they just don’t give a rat’s arse anymore.

Anyway I am still of the belief that Sevco won’t kick a ball next season of their own doing and shambolic approach to matters but the SFA needs to be cleaned out and collars felt otherwise the same keech will follow the game round like the bad smell it is..

AS ever we are the ones who are being punished.

As I said to canamalar I want them gone, but I have resigned to them being around, and them to be hamstringed for as long as possible would be preferable.

There is merit in your argument, sftb said something similar the other night.

But I still hark back to the referees, whatever div they are in, they will get all the help they require, they need to be sorted, this is where our club, and all the other clubs are letting us down imo.

    TET,

its obvious they have no intention in revealing the full extent of their crimes until they are shoehorned in somewhere, however this is makeing everyone more suspicious.

With a bit of luck they will be liquidated next week ad the arrests can start.

I was told last night 6 interdicts\enditements have been issued to former hundead directors, I expect all such story’s to be covered up, but they are already loosing that game too :o)

If you’re not happy with Celtic’s stance on this matter then just don’t buy a season ticket, merchandising etc but please stop repeating yourself on here day in day out.

We know YOU HATE THE BOARD -WE’VE GOT THE MESSAGE.

I do not understand how or why it would be in Celtic’s best financial interests to have Sevco join the SPL.

I saw that post, but the fraud that has already been commited, and the lack of action by any of the authorities will not have me holding my breath on any swift, or satisfactory outcome re their shenagins.

You just said it, they will be shoehorned in somewhere before anything will happen.

I’m prepaired to accept that. Maybe I’ve got the banking scandal too much on my mind.

  18. prestonpans bhoys on

Reading the Daily Hun and according to them Lenny will need to sell players before he can buy due to the fact that Der Hun longer exist i.e. less two hun games. So the Huns get what 7500 allocation so if the ticket price is £42 * 15,000= £630,000 so if a ST costs, on average, £450 then divide 630,000 by £450 and you get 1400. That’s it 1400 extra ST’s and we make up the difference

Thanks for the pointer to the Fifa document, but in it they state that if a club alters its legal status and enters a league ‘to the detriment of the sporting integrity of the competition’, then the member association’s appeal body decides on the matter. In this case that would be the SFA, Campbell Ogilvie and Stewart Regan.

    Exactly.

We don’t need them anywhere near us.

The lose of those two home games will cost us £630,000 in lost revenue, minus policing costs and money to repair the damage they cause to our arena.

Sell Josh Thompson and Daryl Murphy, there goes the £630,000 deficit.

Not to mention the huge amount of extra income that will be generated should we qualify for the CL Group Stages.

2 things I’ll always remember Dwyer for on the blog, his love for Celtic apart.

    1. His staunch (can I use that word Dwyer) backing of McManus (no not Michelle).

It was obvious as well that Cowan and Cosgrove ( who continues to rise in my estimation ) were aware of this and cut him a wee bit of slack, although I detected slight amusement in Cowan’s voice at Mc Pherson’s obvious discomfiture.

  30. ultimately the spl/sfa could not force this through without the knowledge of

the celtic board, just ask yourself could you see dermot desmond allowing this

if he did not approve or peter lawell for that matter?does anyone seriously think

these guys would let them do that to them behind their back if they were strongly

against this,i know what i believe, first no call for doncaster to step down, similar

reagan, we have men on board who will have been part of this being complicit

otherwise we will have been misled again and if this were the case i have no

doubts there would be some form of legal action to stop them looking like fools,

sorry folks our people know exactly whats going of that i have no doubt because

people like dermot and peter are not stupid or fools, but it will be over shortly

and its either back to normal or over.
