There are not words powerful enough to describe today’s news. The English language is insufficient and I have no Greek or Latin. Rangers Football Club have today asked the Court of Session to appoint an administrator, unable to service their creditors. The freight train of their tax tribunal has yet to hit, these events relate exclusively to how the club has operated in other areas.
Scottish Premier League rules state that clubs are deducted 10 points on going into administration, which will give Celtic a 14 point lead at the top of the table once in effect.
This is a day we have predicted will come for over three years. It has been inevitable for that long. Now the really interesting events will happen.
We don’t need no stinkin’ Rangers.
Up the Celts!

i dont know what to make of this the day. my head is everywhere. cant understand all the trumpalism on this site. listened to clyde. once again speers and keevins are correct. we need the rangers. we will be not far behind them when our attendances fall. these gus are inteleptual giants of the game. icant beleive the arrogance of folk who dismiss their opinion. lawell too. how he can say what he did today. speers is a very clever man lawell should take heed when speers questions his sums. lawell needs to come out and defend his position to us. administration and them getting back into the spl as quick as possible is the best option. it will be domesday if they get liquidised. anyone who says otherwise is being disgenius
Vmhan,
It is like Siberia here.

Paul Gascoigne spotted at Ibrox with a crate of beer, a fishing rod, and a chicken supper.
Former Rangers chairman Sir David Murray could buy the club back under the terms of his deal with Craig Whyte.
Murray, who owned the SPL club from 1988 until selling to Whyte in May 2011, inserted a clause in the purchase sale agreement allowing him to regain ownership under “certain circumstances”.
Speaking to STV, former Rangers chairman Alastair Johnston confirmed there was a possibility Murray could regain control, but he was unlikely to step forward in the current climate.
“There is some recourse that could allow Sir David Murray to buy the club back,” said Johnston.
“Options are available to Sir David under certain circumstances.
“But I don’t think he wants to do it and I don’t think the banks would allow it.”

Not buying any of this “#Celtic need Rangers” guff. Why would a well-run business be reliant on such a discredited entity?
You have no future working in Scotland, Brian.

Rangers would still hold PLC status therefore still obligated to abide by stock exchange rules no matter whether Craig Whyte, an administrator or MICKEY mouse was running them. Therefore accounts will still be required to be published and an AGM held at some point.
Purely based on my simple understanding of business practice and lack of understanding of administration. Probs better to garner the views of someone actually in the know.

Maybe a Q for RTC or Paul67.

How about, ‘Amen’.
I have just finished my dessert.Lime jelly with raspberry ripple ice cream.
Absolutely delicious, even though the jelly could have done with another hour or so in the fridge.
Gerard Butler to star in epic film named ‘Ticketus’.

Somebody should give Keevins and Speirs the dilemma-
Huns parachute into spl but the Celtic support bhoycott all away games.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
That’s the perfect reaction to the worst case scenario. It won’t happen though, as by not paying their taxes they have failed to support the troops. The parachutes fail, and they crash and burn.
Many thanks to Mr Whyte, imagine if he’d
left it another 10 days and we were into Lent : ).

The Hibbees seem to have the same reaction to this as we do. So much for the theory that other clubs will miss Rangers
==================
I was reading reaction of Dundee Utd fans earlier. They’re owed £100k from the filth and they’re in no mood to do deals either.
Der Tod des Huns is being covered by both Bild (Germany’s biggest paper) and Der Spiegel. Both taking their stories from the BBC, but it shows the news is big in Europe.

Everyone seen that photo of Jim on SSN? Spat my beer all over my screen when that popped up! :)
I love the fact that Rangers TV is proclaiming the interview with Craig Whyte is free.
I can hardly imagine the possibility of them charging fans for their chairman telling them the news they were about to enter into administration (subject to agreement OR NOT!!!!!, with HMRC).
“Oh yeah this is the worst news your club has had to announce in 139 years, but hey, we’re still going to ask you to pay up.” HAHAHAHA!!!!

Aberdeen fans seem pretty happy also

That Hibs site you linked to posts a further link to a rangersmedia site. The comments therein are truly disgusting. They have the right guy in the firing line, David Murray, but they are issuing threats of severe violence against him. Glasgow will be a strange place over the next few weeks and months.
If it was a Dug youd put it down
Do HMRC have Vets on their books?
My eldest boy is just off the phone from Melbourne. He was on is way to work when he heard the news of the Imminent downfall of the hun and his first words were
“Da is everyone ok ?
Have they responded in their usual manner yet?”
I reassured him that things were quiet but he, like me know’s that it’s only a matter of time before they start looking for someone on whom to vent their anger.
I don’t want to sound like a party pooper ( I’ve already had my j&I:-)
but we need to be aware there will be a violent backlash somewhere down the line.
So as with attending any party ;enjoy yourself but Safe Home.

This seems so funny now from Click Lancashire today. HH
According to reports one of Wigan Athletic’s starlets is being chased by Premier League club.
It is understood that Latics youngster Rakish Bingham is being targeted.
The Sun claims the highly-rated 18-year-old is being chased by Manchester City, Newcastle United and Fulham.
It is believed that Sunderland are also interested along with SPL giants Rangers.

How many Scottish football clubs do Rangers owe money to?
The timing of Celtic’s CEO announcement was fascinating, and it was very welcome in its entirety and its unequivocal stance in respect of Celtic’s aims to play football in the widest possible community and properly report on the club’s yearly outurn.
I do think that the Rankers owner has taken some kind of initiative by going to administration, and, I assume not waiting for a creditor to force his hand. So back to a point that someone brought up before that, Whyte is able to choose the administrator. I would expect that, given his track record he will bring in a company of insolvency practitioners, who at first look seem credible, but turn out either not be the people who will carry the job out and be quickly replaced by a person or company who raise questions as to their professional status or credibility. Who is Andrew Andronikou ?
The great news, amongst so much to-day, ( excess £M100 debt ) is that BBC absolutely told the rest of Scotland what is going on in at Rankers their news programme this evening. I think that they were fair and honest in their reporting and its something that I don’t often think about when I hear and see what they usually present. Back onto Newsnight Scotland 11.00pm
No doubt they were inspired by the modern media that is CQN, RTC, PMcG, Hail Hail ….hic !

The only way to kill this “Celtic need Rangers” bile I believe is for Paul67, Phil Mac or another of the gifted posters with the ability and resources to trawl the media from 94 and find quotes from the media of the day.
Were there any similar calls to save celtic?. What had Keevins etc to say then? Then hit SSB with … What’s different now?
Rangers done this. Rangers alone made these choices. Rangers are to blame for this. Rangers made the mistakes. Rangers blew up the bubble thinking it wouldn’t burst. Rangers failed. Rangers couldn’t stop themselves despite better advice. Rangers have put the whole of Scottish football at risk. Rangers are corrupt. Rangers are putting themselves into administration. Rangers did nothing to stop the rot. Rangers lost their way. Rangers did this.

Still trying to catch up with posts but new pages appearing quicker than I can read them all but wanted to share this:
I have this mental image of an old Simpsons episode when I try to imagine Whyte’s emotions at Rangers predicament.
The one where Homer sits down to eat his pet lobser that he has so loving cared for.
The script is quite fitting…
“Don’t worry I put him in a nice hot bath”.
“You’re going to eat him all by yourself?”
“Pinchy would have wanted it this way.”
“I wish Pinchy were here to enjoy this.”

HHH.
I dreamed a dream in times gone by
When hope was high and life worth living
I dreamed that the Huns were gonna die
And the SPL was unforgiving
Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung no wine untasted
But the taxmen come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they raise your hope on high
As they make your dream real!
And still I dreamed they’ll come back
That we would live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather
I had a dream my life would be
So diff’rent from this hell I’m living
So diff’rent now from what it seemed
Now HMRC has made the dream real!
