Rangers on SFA warpath since Fit and Proper enquiry

1203

Rangers manager, Ally McCoist, appears intent on testing the SFA following his outburst yesterday.  According to McCoist the Association “effectively called” Sone Aluko “a cheat and a liar”.  Chairmen of the disciplinary tribunal, former referee Jim McCluskey, had his judgement called into question by McCoist, who said, “The meeting was chaired by a former referee and I have to say his decision making hasn’t improved any since he stopped refereeing.”

This is a new tone from the Rangers manager, who never spoke in these terms about the SFA before they decided to investigate Rangers owner Craig Whyte’s suitability as a fit and proper person to be involved in the game.  Despite yesterday’s punishment, Rangers remain Scotland’s most influential club by the length of the Queen’s highway.  Sabre rattling from Ibrox cannot be dismissed by the Association, who, I am led to believe, will find their investigation into Whyte thwarted.

McCoist escaped SFA punishment for his inflammatory comments to Neil Lennon at Celtic Park in March. It remains to be seen if this new outburst establishes a new method of inappropriate behaviour without consequence. Shauny Aluko will surely not thank his manager for the “cheat and a liar” association. Words like those tend to follow a player.

  1. I have just spent time I’ll never get back looking for a football game that had only one foull awarded against a football team. No-where in cyberspace is there a record of any such occurance. Meanwhile the Dunfermline manager gets a 2 match ban for being right in saying a Ranger’s player dived. The Rangers manager then names (to supposedly shame) a 3 man disciplinary board gathered for a fast-track decision on a football matter. His language would get him sacked were he a member of that organisation–am I right? Are Rangers members of the SFA? Do they come under their scrutiny? Are they members of the SPL? Are they under scrutiny there? This is where we see if the new dispensation works. It will be interesting.

Ahhh the old sacrificial offering to the bloodthirsty currants.

Saluko dives, McIntyre gets bannished to the stands.

Three currants sent off, Neil Lennon gets bannished to the stands.

They sing sectarian songs, Celtic get reported for singing songs.

Raymac. Its absolutely shocking the cheating used to be disguised but there not even doing that now they are being quite open also questions should be asked about the MIB in that game.I just hope the Celtic support realise that it is almost impossible to win the SPL with all this cheating going on I am frustrated because I dont know what we can do about it and our board are complacent in there quietness. H.H.

Aye well at least it will keep the UK banking industry going.

What about normal people not involved in the banking sector, where’s their jobs going to come from?

  10. McCoist is making an absolute fool out of himself.

    BUT

Why does McCoist feel he can defend the indefensible?

Because he is manager of Rangers. Because he is the leader of the Peepul and tradition states that they can do what they like.

But I also see some evidence of a man losing his ‘cool’ along with his 15 point lead.

By the way, save your money if you think Hibs might win tomorrow.

There will be some serious MIBBERY if it looks like they might not get the 3 points at Easter Road.

Like St Johnstone taking a point at Poundland a couple of weeks ago, I can see new manager syndrome pushing the Hi-bees to a point tomorrow. Lomas’s first game was meant to be against Aberdeen, it was postponed, so his first game was against them. Fenlon’s first game was meant to be against Motherwell, it was abandoned, so his first game is against them.

O’Connor to dive for a last minute penalty, brushes himself down and scored equaliser. The fat paul le guen to spontaniously combust on the touchline.

  18. Surprise, Surprise – Rangers Settle a Case on the Steps of the Court with Mr McIntyre

    From the BBC

“Rangers FC has reached an out-of-court settlement with former finance director Donald McIntyre, who was suing the club over alleged breach of contract.

Mr McIntyre won a legal bid in October to have £300,000 of the club’s assets frozen pending the outcome of his case.

When the matter called again at the Court of Session in Edinburgh, judge Lord Hodge was told that both parties had reached agreement.

The terms of the settlement of the action were not disclosed.”

This was the man who was one of those who had the cheek to sue Rangers and against whom Mr Whyte was pledged to fight…

    Paul67 –

These are difficult times for Rangers now that a level of transparency has been implemented at the SFA. Their under-pressure rookie-manager is having trouble dealing with these changes after having things relatively easy for his entire professional career in Scotland.

Previously, decisions regarding discipline were taken by mystery figures at irregular intervals – and the Scottish media were unwilling to identify the individuals involved in making some of the most confounding decisionse, like overturning Charlie Mulgrew‘s red card two days after he was dismissed at Ibrox but deciding to wait until the following season to pass judgement on Kyle Lafferty for his act of simulation in the same incident.

As a result of this ambiguity assistant managers and players of a certain team who attempted to encroach their opponents technical areas, manhandled match officials, refused to leave the pitch after being dismissed, and provoked an opposing manager into an argument on the touchline were all let off with their tummies tickled.

Thankfully, this has all changed. Sure we wouldn’t want another strike, would we?
