Rangers on SFA warpath since Fit and Proper enquiry

1203

Rangers manager, Ally McCoist, appears intent on testing the SFA following his outburst yesterday.  According to McCoist the Association “effectively called” Sone Aluko “a cheat and a liar”.  Chairmen of the disciplinary tribunal, former referee Jim McCluskey, had his judgement called into question by McCoist, who said, “The meeting was chaired by a former referee and I have to say his decision making hasn’t improved any since he stopped refereeing.”

This is a new tone from the Rangers manager, who never spoke in these terms about the SFA before they decided to investigate Rangers owner Craig Whyte’s suitability as a fit and proper person to be involved in the game.  Despite yesterday’s punishment, Rangers remain Scotland’s most influential club by the length of the Queen’s highway.  Sabre rattling from Ibrox cannot be dismissed by the Association, who, I am led to believe, will find their investigation into Whyte thwarted.

McCoist escaped SFA punishment for his inflammatory comments to Neil Lennon at Celtic Park in March. It remains to be seen if this new outburst establishes a new method of inappropriate behaviour without consequence. Shauny Aluko will surely not thank his manager for the “cheat and a liar” association. Words like those tend to follow a player.

The Euro is not the EU. It is merely an experiement in monetary manipulation which may or may not succeed. The reason why it needs ‘bailed out’ is because it can’t just print money, er sorry quantative easing if you please, like we can just now.

If we are in such an improved position, why has the euro not collapsed against the pound? Perhaps because we’re no better off than the Eurozone actually?

Using the Euro as an excuse to retract from co-operation with your neighbours sounds more like deceit than strength to me. Shiney Dave can grow all the jowls he likes and breath awkwardly but he knows as well as you and I that if the Euro goes down we’re in the line of the tsunami as well.

Dave – Talk tough – tighten nappy – wrap flag – close eyes – pray (the others do the hard work and sort it)

Not sure any of those will actually help.

row z – Sorry I missed this point:

At least the EU is an elective process where Sovereignties can join or not or even leave if they so desire.

    Nope.

There is no provision in the EU treaties for a country to be allowed to leave. It’s like a kinder, gentler version of the Soviet Union in that sense.

Just see how nasty they will get when the UK decides enough is enough. (thumbsup)

    Dislocation surely?

If you CAN’T leave what do you do when enogh is enough…………cry hard??

Of course you can leave. It’s not a cattle truck!

BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS for KANO’S GRAND DAY – i dont know what you are talking about. the guy wasnt criticising my views so i have nothing to accept. he was asking what school i went to and was asking if i had a RC education. here was me thinking celtic allowed any and all religions to support them. clearly i was wrong as there are a few here who dont believe that to be true. as i said, i will have alot to speak with to the muslim boy i sit beside tomorrow at parkhead.

It’s funny how we would be geared towards federalisation of Europe if those pesky Europeans gave into Dave’s banking demands.

It is merely an experiement in monetary manipulation which may or may not succeed. The reason why it needs ‘bailed out’ is because it can’t just print money, er sorry quantative easing if you please, like we can just now.

The reason it needs bailed out is because it is fundamentally unworkable. That’s why they are now hastily scrambling to try to cobble together the rescue plan of the week.

Using the Euro as an excuse to retract from co-operation with your neighbours sounds more like deceit than strength to me.

That’s some man that straw man. Nobody wants to retract from co-operation with our neighbours. Neither does any right-minded person want our neighbours to commandeer our household and start dictating how we spend our household income.

if the Euro goes down we’re in the line of the tsunami as well.

It’s not a question of if the Euro will go down.

It’s now a question of when.

It will be painful, but better to take the pain now rather than prolong the suffering for God knows how many years. (thumbsup)

I’m kicking 50 now,and had a keen interest in politics since I was about Declan’s mental age. I clearly have significantly more left-leaning opinions than your good self, but, like many more from my background-politically and socially-have questioned the European experiment as much, probably,as you.

We needed to join the original version, but should have held that line as it was.

Every step since has been a disaster for the people who live in Britain.

Wrapping yersel in the flag and shoutin Jingositic slogans (has he actually done anything yet?) plays to the gallery and makes eurosceptic xenophobes like yer guid self slaver at the mooth, but I can’t help thinking that a Statesman approached by his neighbours with a problem might just expect to achieve more by trying to help rather than slagging them all off from a rather high (but ultimately shoogley) horse.

  20. Who said this……..

“If Rangers supporters feel aggrieved about that, I think they’ve got a cheek because they got a penalty and a goal they shouldn’t have had, so they should be feeling pretty lucky.”

A whopping £7,800 was raised for charity as 100 civil servants celebrated St Andrew’s Day in Edinburgh.

The Scottish Civil Service Celtic Supporters’ Club, which boasts over 350 members from SG offices nationwide, held its annual St Andrew’s Day dinner in the city.

In keeping with the proud traditions of Celtic FC, the money raised benefited the Tommy Burns Lab, which will support cancer research at the new £10m Beatson Translational Research Centre being constructed at Glasgow University’s Garscube Campus. One of Celtic’s greatest players, Tommy Burns lost his battle with cancer in 2008, aged 51.

The host for the evening was STV Political Editor Bernard Ponsonby and everyone present played their part in a special occasion that included speeches by the special guests, a raffle and an auction.

Tommy’s daughter Jenna and sons Michael and Thomas were also present to share in the celebration.

One of Scotland’s leading legal eagles Paul McBride QC delivered the keynote address. Celtic’s captain Scott Brown was present too.

The Club committee who organised the event were delighted with the outcome – our picture shows committee members Uriel Jamieson, Iain Monk and Julie Robertson

    Club President Iain Monk said:

“Our St Andrew’s Day dinner was another triumph. Uriel, Julie and I are delighted that our members dug so deep and raised a wallet-bursting £7,800 for the Tommy Burns’s lab. Tommy was a man who served his country and Celtic with distinction.

“Since its inception, our supporters’ club, which is drawn from SG offices across the country, has raised over £12,000 for good causes. As Celtic fans, we are very proud of what we have achieved.

“In 2012, we will be working hard to organise more football-related, social and charity fundraising events. We also want to see more civil servants becoming members.”
