Rangers relax BBC ban when cash is at stake

953

Rangers today relaxed their ban on the BBC, issued after a documentary with contributions from two former Rangers directors was screened last month.  The BBC booked a paying gig at Ibrox for this afternoon’s game against Dundee United, if Rangers stuck to their principles they would have missed a media payment from the SPL.

Tune in to BBC Scotland this afternoon and listen to the sound of licence payers’ money strut its stuff from Ibrox.

    I hate Rangers.

But I’m lucky enough to love Celtic.

How much money have they donated to those soldiers Poppy Fund, £10,000? por cierto.

There will be a bucket collection today at Ibrokes for the needy. Half of the £100 raised will go to the Poppy Appeal and the rest to the HMRC fund.

Just what does it say about Whytes attitude towards his own fans when hes lettin the beeb in while the orcs are protesting outside the bbc?

    Comedy gold.

  7. Vanguard Bears who protested outside BBC must feel stupid now.

Of course, that should be a constant for them.

    Paul67 –

I’m sure BBC Scotland set the terms for today’s coverage by insisting on interviewing the home manager for his post-game thoughts…

Not that he ever has anything interesting worth hearing, but you get the point.

It may just be me, but if Celtic had banned BBC Scotland I’m fairly certain they would not have offered to cover our match, but would have been happy to remind the listener why that was.

So the ragers fans get up early to show the beeb they won’t stand for any messing and olde CW throws open the doors at Ibrokes and shouts come on down the price is right .

Wonder what VB and FF make of it all

  10. Apparently Sam Raimi was at the beeb building today on a casting mission for Evil Dead 4. Sources from Tinseltown are saying Sam has enough in the can for at least another 3 ED films.

  12. Paul67

The alleged ban was of course posturing, and transparent faux indignation about a documentary based on the facts.

BBC is of course happy to help with Operation raise the Titanic.

My attention is fixed on Fir Park where Celtic must made ready and waiting for their Administration, if and when it comes.

What’s my prize for gettting the best 11???

On a more serious note, I don’t think we should be too defensive tomorrow. After all, it’s only murderwell we’re playing and we should not be thinking about where they are in the league for goodness sake. We are CELTIC and we should give them a right good doing to let them know who WE are. Can I say on here , We ARE the people.

We really need a good performance akin to Thursday and we’ll skoosh it.

KOJO, my ole china if you’re lurking, what’s your take on big Sammi on Thursday, pure dead brilliant or what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Charlie would qualify for his 2nd spell but i didn’t think he was quite good enough then but some may have voted for him on the strength of his 1st spell when he was outstanding!

    Hopefully that makes sense.

As a bit of an antidote for all the Utd best ofs of the last 25 years:

Over the next few days I will compile any teams submitted from the following list and publish CQN’S best team of the last 25 years.

    3 Midfielders

    3 Forwards

3.Only pick players from the relevant list .For example I have listed Roy Aitken as a Centre Back-you can’t pick him as a Midfielder. I’ve no doubt missed some obvious ones but this is the final list!

Ask yourself the question. If you were a player for them and not a fan, would you bust a gut when you are not sure if you’ll be paid or not and if you’re injured whether you’ll be covered.

Me, no way.It just may work to our advantage.
