Rangers today relaxed their ban on the BBC, issued after a documentary with contributions from two former Rangers directors was screened last month. The BBC booked a paying gig at Ibrox for this afternoon’s game against Dundee United, if Rangers stuck to their principles they would have missed a media payment from the SPL.
Tune in to BBC Scotland this afternoon and listen to the sound of licence payers’ money strut its stuff from Ibrox.

Charlie would qualify for his 2nd spell but i didn’t think he was quite good enough then but some may have voted for him on the strength of his 1st spell when he was outstanding!
Hopefully that makes sense.
Thanks….understood…..it was for the 1st spell I was referring.
For some reason I seem to have wiped the 2nd spell from the memory banks :-)

Some laughed at them when THEM paid £5,000,000 for him. PL mocked the claims THEY made about offers received for him.
We’ll see who laughs when he wins them another SPL title.
His name is Jelavic, worth every penny and and he has just scored again.

Awash with the ‘British’ sense of entitlement and indignation
over their poppy issue with FIFA.
Has the foe malign actually paid all the monies due for Jelavic. Doubts still persist about that.

He played mostly in the middle of the park, dropping back to perform defensive duties and pushing up to join and create the attack. Played the role well.

He´s a horrible badge-kissing diving faking cheat.
Won them the title last year. Maybe this year too?
Worth every penny, hope he picks up an injury soon ;-)
Peter L, thanks for not spending our cash on a goal-scoring dud.
Quonn’s taking a principled stance against the BBC

Should read England’s poppy issue with FIFA.

“PL mocked the claims THEY made about offers received for him.”
He wasn’t alone in laughing at that claim. How would you really expect people to react to that? Should we have taken it seriously?
EBM-ElectroBhoy2500,
Thanks. I’m on the mend now
Can you believe this one…..well, yes, you can.
Traynor on Sportsound…
“the seriouness of the situation (financial) at Hearts can not be down played”
How does he do it? Well seen he truly has a neck of solid brass

As for the BBC. It is now a number of years since I raised with the Scottish government my concerns about perceived racism and sectarianism within
that particular organisation. Government body swereved complaint with waffle about BBC being an independent organisation.

Why, if someone says anything that even hints at criticism of Celtic does it mean that the person saying it is automatically pro THEM?
Paul67 – Any chance you can look at a different entry screen for comments during a game? The huge advert just above the comments box means that no previous comments are visible unless you scroll up and down. I think a simpler screen, doing away with all the ads and side window links etc will add to the enjoyment during the game. Just a suggestion.
Caught a wee bit of R.Scotland earlier, and all the talk seemed to be about the serious situation at Tynecastle. No problems elsewhere, save that the OF have a better chance of reducing debts than Hearts. That must mean that we are in trouble too!
This, to me, is further evidence of the media preparing to secure a “soft landing” for the Hun.
No forensic investigation of the shenanigans at Ibrox. Whyte says,”Boo” and the media run away.
Veiled threat to Spiers and another two journos, that the Vanquished Bears didn’t name, but know who they are.
Whyte says,”c’mere” and the BBC scuttles back up the Marble Stair, with a few pound notes in their hand.
As for the SFA’s intentions of applying the rules, if and when it becomes necessary. Forget it.
This season is playing out like each of the last four seasons.
As TET says, the MIBs are doing their bit, albeit in a more subtle way; except for Collum, who is transparent.
This all brings me back to the point that I have been flogging for a couple of weeks now.
It is. What will Celtic do?
Will this be the season when we “won’t be treated differently from any other club. Those days have gone”.
Regan has had enough time to weigh up the scene. Peter Lawwell has a position within the SFA.
Therefore, it is time to put flesh on to the bones of John Reid’s stirring words.
What is it to be Celtic.
Acquiesce or resign?
!!Bada Bing!! @15.41 – Bolo Zenden definitely trained with Celtic at Lennoxtown this morning.

EBM-ElectroBhoy2500 – We are all Neil Lennon! Glasgow Rangers is the sporting icon for loyalist bigots. says:

After all there really is a limit on the price of an SPL title.

For all you budding coaches just came across a couple of wee sites on football coaching.

FIFA and the GB. Strange bedfellows.
For once, I think FIFA got it right
They already have a rule that you can’t display any kind of message on a T-shirt under the jersey, therefore it is only logical that statements on the jersey should come under the same rule.
Anything that is totally a football sponsored topic, like “Show Racism the Red Card” is obviously alright, as it is a common cause, but, anything that is particularly nationally based, especially in International matches, has the possibility of being contentious.
FIFA’s motives are probably based on the emblem etc., partially obscuring their sponsors message, though!
The Zombie version of Airdrieonians are now losing 5:1 to some team from Coatbridge.
Looking forward to Zombie Rangers getting a similar result. Don’t think Jelavic will be winning the 3rd div. title for them.

You credit them with more power and influence than they actually have. If they had that much the documentary would never have been aired.
They need every penny they can lay their extraordinarily grubby hands on and they have no principals whatsoever, hence the attendance of the BBC at their next door neighbours. :)

Quonno,
Why write to the Scottish Govt about a matter which is reserved?
Im also slightly curious as to what your grounds were re racism and sectarianism at BBC Scotland.
