Rangers, streetwalkers of football, face their deadline

778

There’s something undignified at the shenanigans at Ibrox right now.  Despite being under no pressure to pay the disputed tax demand, Rangers are tarting around their top player in a desperate attempt to raise money.

After the Plus Stock Exchange suspended dealing in their shares the club stated it would produce overdue accounts for season 2010-11 around the end of this month, which coincides with the end of the transfer window.  Any auditor needs to be in a position to state that the company has enough cash to be considered a going concern before he would be in a position to sign-off the accounts.  Rangers are now in a desperate bid for cash as their self-imposed (late) date to provide shareholders with statutory information has arrived.

Claims were made that a front-loaded war-chest was made available to Ex-Rangers manager, Ally McCoist (still too early?  Hmmmm) at the start of the season and it was subsequently suggested that a £9m bid was rejected for Nikica Jelavic, but now the same player is available for a fraction of that sum – available for cash, that is.

McCoist kept their season alive but as reality dawn and Neil Lennon’s Celtic turned up the heat, his challenge abated.

The trusty old media, for so long a crutch throughout Rangers rather unique history, are set to desert the White Star Line’s most famous vessel.  The day draws near.

    Totally agree.

Go into your local Morrisons, Tesco, Asda early doors tomorrow morning pick up the rag and treat yourself to a latte or a refreshment of your choice. I’ve been doing it for a few years now. I usually put it back on the carousel when I’m finished.

  7. Hi,

Posting this comment again, no luck before.

    Does anyone use Celtic TV??

I used subscribe to Celtic TV, but the buffering etc was absolutely terrible for live events i.e. live games.

I live in Perth Australia if that makes any difference in terms of the effects of buffering.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Has it been resolved in the last couple of years? Does it work well now?

    Help!

    Thanks

  11. Celtic supposed to have had 3 trialists strong rumours Uchebo, Salihi and Caolan Lavery. Report from Fleetwood but no clues.

A cold, crisp evening at Highbury welcomed the Celtic development squad complete with first team manager Neil Lennon and first team coach Alan Thompson.

Micky Mellon sent out a line-up of first teamers alongside youth team players. The Fleetwood boss handed keeper Dave Stevenson 90 minutes and Saturday’s last gasp winning goal scorer Rob Atkinson put his first 90 minutes under his belt since a broken ankle last October.

Youth player Jamie Allen appeared as a second half substitute as did namesake Richie Allen. Former Town player John Miles also made a substitute appearance after being released by Stockport County. The midfielder is training with Town whilst in between clubs.

The visitors only needed three minutes to take the lead when John Herron’s low, driven shot beat the outstretched Stevenson.

Sean Clancy enabled Richard Brodie to restore parity when his through ball left the striker with a lob over the approaching Nick Feeley.

The scoreline remained level into the break but Celtic were soon ahead when Callum McGregor delivered a corner that was swept in by Czech teenager Filip Twardzik.

Left back Junior Brown’s cross-cum-shot deceived Feeley to once again pull Town back into the game.

A corner was again Fleetwood’s undoing when Twardzik claimed his second of the evening. The inswinger was met by solid header that bounced off the post and the Czech drilled home through packed box.

Both sides’s produced a good display of attacking and counter attacking play with the game being fairly evenly balanced over the 90 minutes

Followfollow is hilarious at the minute. One particular poster on the subject of whyte mortgaging off the season tickets has come up with this gem “If he has done this we need to stick together, and every season ticket holder not re new”. YES, do that, EXACTLY THAT. A fine idea that man.

If the daily Ranger is doing 5 pages, apart from the many pictures involved due to the readership, you can expect that the interim ‘need to go bust’ phase is about over and the ‘gonnae let me back in, I’ll no dae it again’ phase is about to begin. It will be easy to bring down Whyte (I suspect he’s being well rewarded for fronting the downfall). Ignore him and focus on the campaign about to rise……Save Scottish Fitba’. Expect the forces of supremacy to come out on as many fronts as possible and be ready to meet them head on. This is the real fight for the heart and soul of Scottish Fitba’.

I thought it was shameless for a while. I think they had a similar programme in Scotland last year filmed in Ayr, it made Coleraine look good.

  15. Well, well,

It turns out that Amadeus was right.

    Might I say “whew!”

There are dark forces out there and they have been working their nastiness and threats upon poor Amadeus, believe me. But they are just sticking their fingers in a dyke that they can’t control any more. The truth is out there now.

The hun legal team (sue grabbit and hun) have been working overtime to spike the story, but they have been, mostly, ineffective. Even the stupidest hun will be able to work it out.

The truth will out and we should all enjoy this moment.

This is not the end of the beginning, nor is it even the …em ah, feck it, let’s party!

It was a privilege to bust the hun’s bubble, and I take great joy in helping it along.

    Now for the treble bhoys!

    Hail and indeed hail!

I want them to survive until March, so that we might administer the coup de grace. Something to remember us by. Sadly, I doubt they will.

  19. Turkeys don’t vote for Christmas, so the analogy goes.

I can’t yet beleive that the organisation that has done so much to perfume the pig, that is scotland’s shame, would do anything at all that would jeopardise their declining market or their position as court mouthpiece…..

I could be wrong but I smell a rat.

The ‘pats’y that is the MBB may be sacrificed in some long, long overdue expose………..but will he give a………?

Nah, if anything, this will be the day that all the bad news is buried and the pantomime fightback begins.

Whichever white horse riding saviour is to come………the blatt we are discussing will soon be at the old fawning routine…..

I’ve got a feeling we’ll be seeing and hearing from a few old faces.
