Administrators for Rangers FC PLC (in administration) yesterday released a statement that had emotions swinging. Subsequent headlines heralded the news:
“Administrators assure supporters that club will continue to exist”
“Rangers ‘will continue as a club’”
“Rangers will survive”
The administrator from Duff and Phelps actually said, “In broad terms, supporters can be reassured that Rangers will continue as a football club”.
“In broad terms”, Clydebank FC survived as a football club, they are away to East Kilbride Thistle on Saturday. This is a completely empty statement. Duff and Phelps have given no assurance that a deal to save the club has been reached or that they can compel such a deal.
Off to the juniors with them.

While I’m pleased that hoopslegend Dan Mastronovitch has had his red card rescinded his performance on Saturday was Sieve-licious.
He makes me as nervous as when a fabulously wealthy Motherwell born businessman asked me for my bank a/c details, claiming he had inherited a Nigerian oilwell.
From BBC’s Alasdair Lamont: Willie McKay, Daniel Cousin’s agent, leaves Murray Park, saying he believes the player’s deal with Rangers will go through.
If that is true, how on earth can the administrators justify themselves as acting in the best interests of creditors?

Who would buy a football stadium for £20m?
The only people interested would be whoever buys Ibrox and I doubt they could afford that on top of everything else.
The only other use I could think of would be a Music Promoter buying it and converting it to a full time Concert Venue.

IF D Cousin is signed, which I doubt he will, I thought one of the stipulations of a team in admin was they can’t sign any players.

Afternoon bhoys,
So with Big Dans red card being rescinded, does that mean that operation “Butter up Timmy” is now underway.
I’d rather see Dan miss a few games and McLean demoted tbh.

TBB it should be. It’s not as if Celtc have cut out their crap and we’ve stopped that for about 6 years now.
Most of the players will never have heard Ibrox belt out TBB either.

But that might incur a points deduction – oh wait….
The Ghood will … @ 11.15
1) Why the TFOD / why CW?
The TFOD are the perfect target for bottom feeders like CW.
It had a large pre 2002 floating charge.
He is then first in the queue and he can set the agenda with the administrator.
Strong cashflow wth multiple opportunities to manipulate it to your advantage.
All for the investment of £1 – perfect.
2) Ticketus deal
£24.4mill out to CW / TFOD.
£3mill back to Ticketus in June / July 2011.
It was supposed to be £9.5mill but CW renegotiated.
Became a 4 year deal instead of a 3 year deal.
Ticketus are surely not that stupid.
Consequently they must have some sort of security over the outstanding advance.
Looks to me as if the floating charge has been transferred over to Ticketus.
I think the floating aspect of the charge means that the figure can go up and down over time.
The other view is that the charge is not ‘fixed’ that is specific to a particular set of assets.
Consequently it might have been £18mill to LBG but it is now £30mill+ to Ticketus.
Total speculation on my part but Ticketus are not a charity.
Not sure how they work regarding RoR / interest rates.
From what we know 27K tickets = £9.5mill.
Possibly 24K tickets = £8.5mill plus ST inflation say a round £9.5mill?
Original deal for TFOD – £24.4mill in / £28.5mill out.
Paid in 3 instalments – 3 months / 15 months / 27 months.
Revised deal for TFOD – £24.4mill in / £38mill out.
Paid in 4 instalments – 3 months @ £3mill / 15 months / 27 months / 39 months.
Three equal instalments still outstanding at £11-12mill each?
Consequently if Ticketus are only in for an £18mill floating charge security they are going to lose out on the deal.
So to answer your question Ticketus are either – Stupid / got security / in on the scam.
Take your pick.
Finally any thoughts on who owns / runs Ticketus?
Paul et al.
My life is a mixture of sheer enjoyment and a wee bit of frustration at the moment. The enjoyment is self explanatory and you and many a fine poster on here are producing most of it. I’m also enjoying the sheer disbelief on the faces of some I work with and also those in the media that this is actually happening – despite the fact that most have been told for months and months that this would happen. I am the old McDonalds advert. I am loving it!
The frustration comes with the refusal to even begin to countenance the view that we, and the rest of Scottish Football, can not only exist but, in the longer term, prosper from this mess. “Rubbish”. “That’s nonsense”. “I don’t know how you can say that”. These all are responses I’ve heard. The Radio and TV wallers are no better with their constant ” they must survive” buffoonery. Please don’t get me started on the former players, not just ran*ers players, who are only to happy to join in.
However, I’m beginning to overcome this frustration by linking it back to my enjoyment. It’s the disbelief I’m enjoying. That disbelief was and is borne out of their refusal to listen. A refusal to listen to facts, cold hard facts. Not the rantings of madmen and women just cold hard facts.
Ernest Hemingway once said ” “I like to listen. I have learned a great deal from listening carefully. Most people never listen and thus, never learn.” Good old Ernest! How right you were then and are to this day.
THEY are going and I believe they are going fast. I was in contact with an esteemed friend (if I may be so bold!) this morning and, if I understand correctly, there was a consensus that any offer letters from Celtic re tickets for a game on March 25th may well be worth collecting. :-)
I’ve quoted Hemingway and I’ll finish by quoting Paul67 “Enjoy these days. Chill.”
Hail! Hail!
Ah! That’s better. I had intended to post last night that I was always keen to see an independent Scotland reliant on it’s own resources to survive, but after Salmond said that we should not lose what the hun’s bring to Scottish culture I thought my dear God this man has lost the plot and this is not a culture that I want to celebrate never mind belong to. Politicians would sell their granny into bondage if they thought it would be to their benefit. Moral of the story, never trust a jambo.

Afternoon all, from a quick glance I see, the usual and very sensible ‘de-spinning’ job on the facts by Paul! And some very informative data on the real value of £49 million + in lost taxes! I look forward to JoboBaldie’s usefull insight into the weather prospects that Clydebank FC (not original version) can expect on Saturday! What an exceptional public service this site truly is! Enjoy the rest of your day! sTICks
LIQUIDATION IS THE PREFFERED OPTION !
Dear Mr Salmond,
Your support for tax evaders is very puzzling.
Do you realise that if Rangers FC PLC (in administration) had not been evading paying the tax that they owe, you would have had enough extra money in the kitty £75M+ with which you could have built enough new prisons to lock up all of Scotlands Tax Evaders! This would have had a seriously beneficial effect on the country’s economy as the rate of payment of tax would improve greatly. With this Scotland would enjoy a period of prosperity rarely seen before. In fact so prosperous would the country be that this football mad nation would spend like never before on attending football matches and buying their teams merchandise. The Scottish Game would enter a new era of success off the field quickly followed by success on the field thereby creating a virtous circle of success This would foster a feeling of great confidence in the country as a whole and this would result in an overwhelming yes vote for independence and you would be hailed as the architect of this new Scotland. It would be a prosperous Scotland free from bigotry and facing the future with great anticiaption and excitement.
Instead you chose to promote tax evasion and cheating on a grand scale thereby creating a feeling in the country of “if they are not paying their tax then I’m not going to either” which will lead the country to become a Greek Ruin.
This and your recent pronouncements make me believe that you are not very far sighted and you wont be in a position to decide anything very much in a wee while. This is a fate that you will deserve.
MBB reckons huns will be out of administration next month, is this possible or just waffle, onSS1
What the feck is Cameron on about?
Three questions I’d like cqnrs opinion on.
1. How will the huns handle the mother of all wind-ups/parties/celebrations at their hoose on March 25?
2. Will UEFA get involved in the hun scandal, in light of Platini’s strong views on financial doping?
3. Will Penny Arcade be dropped from the Ibrox playlist?
