So many positives from yesterday its hard to know where to start!
But defensive strength must be near the top of the list, especially the new bhoys who have been pilloried after a slow start to their Celtic careers. But Julienn is growing into the role quickly and Bolingoli was dynamic, looking comfortable on the ball and with an incredible engine helping keep them pinned back. Took a few sore ones himself and thought he was a real contender for MOTM.
Like everyone else was bemused by our kick off but it worked a treat and it set the tone. Kill their momentum and take the intitiative.
Feared the worst when Broony miscontrolled a ball in the centre circle after 8 mins and thought that our good start was going to be undone, it handed Rangers momentum for a couple of mins max but we rode it out and Broony came onto a game after that and showed his leadership qualities as well.
So lots of brave tactical decisions and not least to play Mikey after a couple of poor displays at Ibrox(albeit out of position).
Btw – for all the comment that Rodgers is a great tactician, if he was our manager we’d probably have lost yesterday. Forster didnt pass the ball to the back 4 too many times, it is the right idea to get it up the pitch and reduce the risk of an error from our back line. Doesn’t mean you can’t play good football, just do it in the right areas through your best technical players! There are no extra points for each pass from your CB to your LB and back again.
Remember saying last week during the meltdowns that if we seen the AIK tie through and avoided defeat at Ibrox we’d be motoring. Well here we are, we’re more than motoring now and with a couple more signings to come and the best firepower we’ve had in a long time we have a lot to look forward to.
I saw the Official Celtic Twitter site post that said “Thanks for the invite” and didn’t get it . . . until a mate pointed out that rangers have been posting “Welcome to the Party” tweets whenever they win.Brilliant trolling!
Right, the three points are in the bag. No time to dwell on it around the boardroom table today.
“Who’s in and who’s out?” is the question of the day for them.
If we assume Taylor is in and thus Jack and Calvin out, what else will happen today? The ETims Rumour Mill is back with a few wee gems as is their want. Bid coming in for Simu, Ntcham off in January when Turnbull signs, BR trying to give us Benkovic again and a loan deal for Wanyama is close . . . .
As they always say, it is made up p**h, but let’s imagine. If Simu goes then Benkovic would be a great piece of business. We know Ntcham wants to leave, so no big surprise there. Wanyama for a season? Briliant but who does he replace if not N’tcham? He won’t be coming to sit on the bench so that would be the end for Ntcham I would think right now.
Have a fun day everyone – no doubt we’ll end it with 1-2 signings that no one has even mentioned :)

I was initially worried to see Micky in the starting lineup for the game. I had hoped that Ntcham would have started and Christie could have been shifted out wide. It actually worked out better than I could have hoped. Micky pops up and creates the first goal and then Ntcham comes on later when the game was stretched and absolutely ran the show for the rest of the game. Proper 10 out of 10 performance from Olly.

Guys,
On the whole I thought Madhun had a good game.
He could easily have taken the easy option early on and sent off Callum McGregor . A straight red or two yellows , one for diving.
This would have changed the game, of that there is little doubt.

Yes I was one of the so called bedwetters
My gripe all along was the support (lack of) PL was giving the team
My gripe continues with PL
But more humble pie from me
Yesterday suggested (one good game does not a player make) that we have the makings of a great centre half in Julian as well as a 2 good full backs 3 players signed on full contracts and signed as early in the transfer window as was possible – well done PL
But I struggle to understand the thinking in not playing jullian and Boli v Cluj ?? But hey ho
We are still a few short and today I am sure (last minute shopping again) we will buy today
But why so late Peter – every window is the same
As for yesterday outstanding Celtic
Apart from dominating the game there was a couple of little moments that I think we got away with
It is unlike McGregor to go in with studs up but he did it is also unlike him to go down without contact but he did
The ref is not on my Christmas Card list but I was grateful he was on his best behaviour yesterday
I am aware Arfield should have had a straight red as well and the ref let that go
If the ref had been Beaton I have no doubt CMcG would have gone then it’s a different game, possibly different result, then PL not getting out of jail for free
So from a Humble Pie eating bedwetter well done NL and the Players
Now PL get some work done

I thought the ref was alright and the Ryan Jack one was shocking but in real time happened so fast…not sure what his position was…
Beforehand I maybe didn’t expect Madden to go all out and be obvious about it but probably expected a lot of the marginal calls to go against us…the little, seemingly unimportant decisions for throw ins or free kicks in non threatening positions that you forget about but which give a team momentum and change the flow of the game.
He could have done that and pretty sure it wouldn’t have made a difference anyway. A lesson was handed out yesterday and now we are set up for the season again.

Celtic chasing deadline day transfer for Man City right-back Jeremie Frimpong
CELTIC are chasing a deadline day move for Man City’s teenage right-back Jeremie Frimpong.
SunSport understands the Hoops are poised to land the Dutch-born 18-year-old in a permanent deal.
Frimpong has been at City for three years but could move to Parkhead before the window shuts.
The versatile full-back can also play on the left and is known for his pace and powerful running.
He was part of the City under-23 side that reached the quarter-final of the EFL Trophy last season.
Frimpong was also a key member of the under-18 team that lost to Liverpool in the FA Youth Cup final.
Celtic have already signed Southampton teen Jonathan Afolabi and Bolton’s 18-year-old Luca Connell this summer as they build for the future
Could someone explain to me why club bruges could afford to pay the 13 million asking price for big victor and get near to the wages whilst we apparantly would only be able to have an outside chance of a loan if no permanent deal is secured by spurs?.
I think it is high time that celtic gave us fans something back and splashed out on a player slightly above our remit for fees and wages but guaranteed to make a legacy impact.
Now is the time, today is the day to put the final nail in dave kings coffin.
