heard similar discussion with the same conclusion in UK it can be offside if you can legally score a goal with it. However this was taken further with the follow up what if you score the goal with a body part that was onside, the body part cannot be separated therefore whether you can legally score with it or not should make no difference if the hand is in a natural position, by your side and the ball goes in off your hand the goal counts as long as it was onside. a whole new can of worms.

NL obviously feels that he cannot rely on LG. I think the only way that LG has a future with Celtic is for him to go out on loan (Hibs from this January would be good) and get some consistent game time in order to prove his fitness and form; he won’t manage many minutes at Celtic with Eddy and Bayo around and Celtic cannot afford to bring on a striker so off form to give him minutes for the sake of it.

Once the euphoria settles , I’m sure the management team will sit down with the players and analyse why we made an ordinary Sevco look like world beaters (well , maybe not the finishing-))
Playing long balls up to a target man who couldn’t hold the ball up was one factor , the conditions might have been another , but it seemed more like a tactical failure , such was the imbalance in play , chances and possession.

I just say what I see. We got an offside goal.
But I don’t agree that they should have had 3 penalties.
Morelos and Goldson should have been off.
Celtic laid an egg at Hamden and still won. It’s a wake-up call and should focus minds for the January window. New Striker, please.
Criticism of Morgan.
In view of the pre game open comments about Edouard`s niggle , as the game progressed I got the distinct impression that Morgan was following Lennie`s match instructions to a tee .
Go out , challenge for everything and run their defenders off their feet.
Come early second half , we bring on Edouard to make the max contribution he can . viz. half an hour.
Instructions based on the reality that we were playing with a makeshift defence and would have to ride out the early storm . A storm which continued through the game.
Did Lennie feel that Morgan and his speed could perform that role better than Leigh ?
Perhaps . It would certainly explain why Leigh was left out.
Honest View:
The game came at the wrong time for us
Our left side has been chopped and changed for a month
Elyounoussi missed the bus
Hayes good but is better than he played yesterday
And with Morgan up-front we were weaker than we have been for a while
We had no out ball so played most of the game in our half
FF saved us more than once and was the difference
Psychological View:
They will be an emotional wreck
Slippy has a big job to get them off the floor
Last Wednesday Aberdeen/Hamilton then yesterday

Rational View:
Slippy has them playing as well as they can play
He also has them pumped

Leigh Griffiths should pack his bags if he isn’t capable of providing what Lewis Morgan served up yesterday.
Maybe I don’t understand the game but I fail to see any contribution from Morgan. The one time he managed to get on the ball in their box he flashed a shot well off target from an improbable angle.
I don’t think he was even successful in harrying the Rangers defence. They looked comfortable in possession. When Celtic had a dangerous breakaway with 3 attackers and 2 defenders he held the ball too long and allowed Jack to make a recovery tackle.

Opinion:
Jermie`s enthusiasm, coupled with his ability, will make him immensely popular at Celtic.
Calum McGregor, James Forrest, Ryan Chritie, Odsonne Edouard and Scott Brown are all excellent players but jeremie has that special combination of attributes and personality that will make him the Fans Number One Favourite.

Agreed. It was much more marginal as was reported. Another sign that Scottish football is in the dark ages.
If this were an English final there would be more cameras and more angles. The pundits would do their research before the game and come prepared. BBC pundits weren’t even aware that Taylor was cup-tied. They thought he was dropped!
Also, if you want to complain about VAR for the offside you have to at least report how Morelos lost the rag again and went about kicking people. No yellow card. He should have had a red 3 times over!
As for those 2 other penalty shouts…

Scott Brown is entitled to challenge Morelos for a ball that’s in the air. Contact between two players in a penalty box does not always mean a penalty.

Thomson on sports scene was doing his best to cheer himself up with the prospect of a Sevco league title win.
We’ll bury that one in three weeks. That’s two games this week where we’ve been below the required standard. 5 league games now Celtic to deliver. 5 wins will take us a long way toward the league title.
Rogic, Ntcham, Elyounoussi, Boli and Griff to come in against Cluj and get some game time.
If Griff doesn’t start in what is in football terms a meaningless game for us on Thursday, I would question his Celtic future.
