  1. MCPhail Bhoy………….. It was in a newspaper column and quoted last week in Newsnow Celtic.

  2. lets all do the huddle on

Facts are Celtic didn’t deserve to loose that game on chances created

not sure just picking 1 stat is relevant

we also didnt deserve to lose the game on the niceness of our strip or the handsomeness of our fans

but there are a load of areas where we did deserve to lose it

  3. Notthebus- 😂😂😂 sorry Taylor is not a footballer. I dont count him he is pish.

    D :)

  4. UNCLE JIMMY on 18TH APRIL 2021 6:43 PM

They made more clear cut chances than the opposition

  5. Instead of being angry and disappointed by the humiliation of being overtaken by a cash strapped zombie club can’t we just be happy for those who have been looking forward to this outcome?

It hasn’t been easy for them and there have been many twists and turns along the way but their wishes have finally come to fruition.

“For us, it’s disappointing that they’re not there,” Desmond told BBC Sport.

“But that was a decision by the various clubs, a decision by the various leagues and we accept those decisions.”

“Rangers is a great football club, it has a great history and it’s unfortunate that they have been relegated,” said the Irish businessman.

“We would certainly like to contest with them every week – we believe we’ve got a better team and a better management structure.

“Rangers is a fantastic football club, it is one of the greatest football clubs in Great Britain, we’ve got to acknowledge that. But we can only look after ourselves.”

‘Rangers are a fantastic club with a great history. They will, in not too long a time, be back in the SPL. I have no doubt about that.

“And they’re needed for Scottish football because of their following, the size of the club and especially their history. We certainly would like to contest with them every week. We believe we have a better team and management structure.’

‘Rangers are one of the great clubs in Britain and we have to acknowledge that.

“They are a motivation for us to go along and beat them in every Old Firm match, so we miss that opportunity.”

  6. lets all do the huddle on

the bottom line is that the first team squad needs de-Jockified

having so many scottish players in our starting line ups has been a disaster in recent years when we play teams who dont do that ie sevco and european teams

and whoever said earlier about mcgregor ending up at leicester – honestly, if mcgregor becomes a regular player for any english premiership team then i will buy everyone on this blog a pint, apart from the ones who frequent the loudon

  7. Notthebus

I feel it’s wrong to suggest that is a fact. I’m pretty sure ‘chances created’ aren’t mentioned anywhere in the rules of association football.

    Its merely your opinion.

Furthermore, and with the greatest respect, I feel your opinion in this case is utter tosh.

(Emotional evening. Hoping I don’t come across as unkind. I just dont need any more baseless bluster tonight)

  8. Please, please, please let this be the bottoming out. Well beaten by mediocrity at a canter. Rescue plan please!

  9. Do you get goals awarded after the game for chances created.

There is some pish posted on here.

  10. UNCLE JIMMY

Even a fan with the most rudimentary understanding of the game can count the chances created but lets just go with the tangibles.

possession, shots at goal, shots on target,corners..these are facts. Cant be bothered looking them up but i will bet you fiver we have much higher numbers then the opposition. that would be a fact

As for the clear cut chances, well …any fool could spot those

  11. JK has failed big time.

Plenty of possession along our 18 yard line. Shoite.

A lone striker who is not a striker and could not hit a barn door from 6 yards.

A right back who turns back more than Michael Jackson doing the moon walk.

JK claoss failure – pish show some passion.

Waits to 10 to 20 mins from time to make more changes when at that point we are oot.

JK is a clone of NFL both are/were pish.

Dont get me started on the players I would not have any of them in my team, well big Ajer excluded.

Keepers by feck shoot at our goal and it’s in. In fact you dont have to shoot oir loanees will do that for you.😂

    Jokers the lot of them.

No fight, no heart, no passion.

    D :)

  12. ‘Rangers are a fantastic club with a great history’. If that quote from Dermot Desmond is accurate (I’ve no reason to believe it’s not) then he should hang his head in shame. This is a club for the best part of 100 years had an OFFICIAL policy of not signing Catholics. Swap Catholics with Black men/Jews/Muslims/Gay there would be long and sustained outrage by the world, Catholics? Not so much. This was the club on it’s centenary in 1972 whose chairman proclaimed a protestant club for a protestant people.

Desmond must know all about this but still proclaimed ‘‘Rangers are a fantastic club with a great history’. If he were to say the were our closest rivals blah blah blah fair enough but he went way beyond that, disgraceful!

  13. Notthebus

20 points behind is a fact

Beaten 2-0 today is a fact

The head to heads I’ve posted at the top of page 17 are facts

The huns shortly to be presented with the spl trophy is a fact

My opinion – we wont improve whilst we deny the facts

  14. THEY did today what THEY having being doing all season

That is, cobbled together a comfortable win.

  15. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

Contrary to popular belief, the opposite of love isn’t hate, it’s apathy.

After what we’ve seen this season I wonder how the club reconnects with the fan base.

We’ve just watched a bunch of mercenaries run off with our cash. Most have ben a disgrace to what it means to represent Celtic.

Unfortunately the next bunch of mercenaries (including the manager) will be no different (hopefully they’ll perform better but they’ll all be looking for the ‘big move’).

This is modern football and i’m sure I’m not alone in feeling taken for a mug.

  16. BSR

Unfortunately, 5 of the 6 hun victories are from the last 8 games.

    Trends matter!

  17. Baffling to think we had very poor performances today from,Laxalt,Kenny,Calmac,Christie,Moi,Edouarde, average from,Turnbull,Welsh,Keeper,,and if we had taken the best of our many chances, the real sitters, could have won 4_2.Does not reflect well on an average opponent.

Edouard. His body language, effort, willingness to fight would not play for me again.Disgraceful display.I have said enough in the past about Kenny, one good pass the whole game.A dud.Apart from not covering himself in glory at 2nd goal,Ajer and Briony, only ones willing to put in a real shift.

  18. GEEBEE

Basing it on my heart being a Celtic man…nothing else.Looking forward to our new apointements, never give up.Great challenge to see them knocked of there perch.

  19. you have to laugh when UEFA accuse someone of self interest.

    UEFA STATEMENT IN FULL

UEFA, the English Football Association and the Premier League, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and LaLiga, and the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) and Lega Serie A have learned that a few English, Spanish and Italian clubs may be planning to announce their creation of a closed, so-called Super League.

If this were to happen, we wish to reiterate that we – UEFA, the English FA, RFEF, FIGC, the Premier League, LaLiga, Lega Serie A, but also FIFA and all our member associations – will remain united in our efforts to stop this cynical project, a project that is founded on the self-interest of a few clubs at a time when society needs solidarity more than ever.

We will consider all measures available to us, at all levels, both judicial and sporting in order to prevent this happening. Football is based on open competitions and sporting merit; it cannot be any other way.

As previously announced by FIFA and the six Federations, the clubs concerned will be banned from playing in any other competition at domestic, European or world level, and their players could be denied the opportunity to represent their national teams.

We thank those clubs in other countries, especially the French and German clubs, who have refused to sign up to this. We call on all lovers of football, supporters and politicians, to join us in fighting against such a project if it were to be announced.

This persistent self-interest of a few has been going on for too long.

    Enough is enough.

  20. Celtic will never be a true superpower because they are stuck in a wee bigoted country where they are forever tarnished by the sectarian card of the OF.

  21. Dons game,

    Barkas,

    Welsh,Ajer,Biton,

    Broon,Soro

    Rogic,Turnbull,

    Griff,Ajeti,Moi.If Forrest fit,Ajeti on bench.

Until the end of this season from hell.

    Bollox to the rest.

  22. ” closed, so-called Super League.”

Unlike the non champion “Champions League”..as long s you are from a big TV audience country

  23. Calmac burnt out. Eddie misused again and again. Ryan played out of position. No wingers. A squad that looks unfit. A beer drinking culture. Please, God – get a culture of professionalism, but then again Ronny D and John Collins were run out of the place – I think?

  24. Go tell the Spartim on

The worrying thing, yes there’s more to worry about is that today’s team (which someone thought was the best available ) will be nothing like our starting 11 next season, in fact most will be away I’d think Turnbull and Welsh will be the only two near the first team.

  25. ERNIE LYNCH @ 6:51

Wouldn’t you agree that if you remove one of the ‘big two’ permanently from our game, Scottish football would ‘wither on the vine’?

The ‘big two’ account for 80% of all activity – 40% each. How would Scottish football survive on 60% – in short it wouldn’t in anything like it’s present form. The remaining ‘big one’ would clean-up for a time, in the same way we have done in the last ten years. However with no meaningful challenge anywhere on the horizon, interest in a monopoly product would wane, attendances would fall, most clubs would go part-time and sponsorship, TV contracts & other commercial activity would be diluted, or, in some cases, non-existent.

Those who have stakes in the ‘big two’ know this and would be dishonest not to acknowledge it.

If Celtic and the Ibrox club can maintain their mass & appeal in the medium term, then perhaps a move to a bigger and more lucrative environment will happen – but right now we are where we are – the ‘big two’ are necessary in order that Scottish football stays relevant.

  26. I was shocked to see Edouard given responsibility to take the penalty. I have never seen him take a convincing penalty for Celtic. He does not strike the ball hard, he often places it at a convenient height for a goalkeeper, and he rarely places it close to the post. Against a keeper like McGregor, who saves a high percentage of penalties, he failed on all 3 counts. His “Panenka” against Craig Gordon was risky and fortunate. I would have much preferred the responsibility to have been handed to Griffiths, or Ajer, who showed Edouard how to do it with authority at the Cup Final earlier this season. Edouard’s limp effort was a disgrace to a professional football player.
