  1. Not a happy hunting ground for James Forrest the saviour in waiting, even though along with Scott Brown he’s even played there against Rainjurz. A heid doon, a*se up, performance is required from all of Kennedy’s players and a last chance saloon if ever there was one, for players that’ll be gone never having played in front of a supporter, in our ground.

Celtic can’t move forward this season and its been sideways with a team that picks itself, inclusive of all it’s failings. Penury in paradise, and playing at an empty dome, you’d think something has to happen even for a side that might look bland on paper, but much better than St Johnstone.

It’s been a while since there was a draw in this game, and for Celtic supporters just as bootless.

  3. CelticFC v ‘1-in-a-row’

CELTIC: Bain; Kenny, Ajer, Welsh, Taylor, Brown, Turnbull, McGregor, Forrest, Edouard, Elyounoussi

Subs: Barkas, Bitton, Griffiths, Ajeti, Soro, Christie, Johnston, Ralston, Laxalt

  4. I’m glad Christie won’t be inflicted upon us today but Brown remains a worry. Kenny at RB is also a glaring area of weakness.

I’ve never been so sure of a Celtic side getting beat as this one. I’m hoping we don’t get tanked because that’s really all this season has been missing.

  5. what absolute made up keech was on that last blog.

seems someone cant leave Neil alone,

You what?! I used to follow Down in GAA – come on – be positive. Maybe Kenny not pushing on is a good thing – let wee James do that.

Probably the team I’d have picked although maybe Ralston is worth trying. I reckon Kenny’s loan agreement must stipulate that he plays if fit. Hopefully he can up his game and is more comfortable with Forrest in front of him than Shop Window Christie ( I’m hoping never to this guy in a Celtic shirt again).

  8. !!Bada Bing!! on

Last week St Johnstone shut down their back 4 quickly, and the huns couldn’t get any rhythm into their play,we should do the same, but probably not fit enough.

  9. onenightinlisbon on

Predictable team. No Dembele, even on the bench. Kennedy looking after himself more than the supporters. Damage limitation…

  10. Can’t understand the selection of Kenny, He has played a part in every Rangers goal since he arrived.

Bitton gave us credible options in back 4 with both Welsh and Ajer capable of playing RB

  11. the reason AR is not playing and only making up the numbers is because he is worse than Kenny.

What do you mean use to follow Down ?! Seriously though, I’m all for positivity but it has to have a basis. We are clearly a failing side and I expect today to be no different fromthe last number of months that has preceded it.

I’ll be positive tomorrow if Howe is unveiled and we can look forward to getting something like a proper Celtic side back onto the park.

  13. Today, rather than support the team, getting behind the manager, and hoping we find our scoring boots, i will decry, dispute, disrups and denigrate everything and anything about the club, our history, previous managers, and current incumbents, because thats what us supporters do.

Pick a target, any target, go for it ……………………

  14. why would anyone pick Dembele ? what has the kid ever done ?

why is that for kennedy and not the supporters,

your starting early with this stuff.

Just paid £9.99 to watch the game via Now TV – i’ll switch on at noon, mute the commentary, switch off at HT, watch the second half with no sound and switch off again at the full time whistle.

  18. Is there a more badly defended goal than Easter islands first at Celtic Park this year…dear god

  19. I called the team correctly apart from Forrest starting ahead of Christie.

No one of the calls for replacements- Bitton, Ralston or Griff have taken chances when offered this season- only Soro can claim to have been under appreciated.

I have seen the signs that John Kennedy has produced a more resilient and more offensive team pattern than Neil did. Some minor changes have led to us being less easy to beat or draw with.

However, the players are still capable of individual weaknesses. Ajer & Welsh are not commanding CBs for defensive headers. Kenny and Taylor can both be beat on their sides by pace. And James Forrest is a less effective defender than Ryan Christie. None of these factors are improved by the replacements of Ralston, Bitton or Laxalt.

Still, I have high hopes- despite our poor record at Ibrox. This is a faltering Sevco team with a few untried players like Simpson that will weaken their tremendous home defending record. As always we need to beat their midfielders Aribo, Kent, Davis, Arfield and Kamara, We should have the players in Brown, McGregor and Turnbull to do so biut our shoulds have not translated into wills in any game this season against them.

We win no tropbies today but it will make a significant dent on them.

I look forward to Stevie G excusing this defeat as being down to unfortunate injuries.
