    Crazy, or, self-serving position?

The snooker final being played indoors with a Crucible capacity of c1000 – all sitting ‘cheek by jowl’…and yet we can’t have one supporter in top Scottish outdoor grounds with capacities of between six & sixty thousand.

The aim is to get to that figure. safely.in time.

  3. I don’t feel as bad tonight as I did in 2003 when Dunfermline did there duty .or black Sunday at Motherwell . I didn’t expect anything from today, the ten was long gone , we were red rotten all season but the signs were there last season we weren’t the team we used to be . with us being worse than poor and all the adulation from the usual suspects for sevco they failed , no double , no treble , and as far as our crown goes we surrendered it , handed it to them on a plate . We Now find ourselves needing to be ruthless , needing shot of more than half a squad , players on loan , players out of contract , players not good enough , and worse players not wanting to wear the hoops . We have to start again with a whole new back room staff ,new players capable of bullying instead of being bullied ,big tall ready to mix it quality players , none of this 5 foot 6 inch fullback nonsense , and we will be back quickly . One more thing I’de like to see is the new ceo being his own man working for the club and fans . And don’t stick your nose into football matters , that’s how we are in this mess . HH

Sure as eggs is eggs P67 will do a piece tomorrow on it being time to look to the future. No acknowledgement of this season’s car crash. No accountability (above all for his key sponsor) and no critical reflection on the Tory vales driving the club.

  5. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

23 points behind the new club and counting. No domestic cup a/f reached. Euro humiliation, including earliest ever exit from ECL, all despite far superior financial resources than our opponents (provided by the fans btw). However, I blame our failure on the small TV market! Unlike the huns who… wait, play in the same ‘market’ area.

  6. You have to hand it to Sevco. Their management team was better than ours this season.

All the pieces have to fit in Celtic’s management team for next season before being unfolded.

This seasons’ goodtime gal was disappointed with Sevco’s 1/3. She wants the bad Bhoys back.

  7. The hand of God on

Whilst watching the SSN coverage of the fan invasion of Old Trafford the thing that struck me mos was the utter hypocrisy of Sky Sports it was them who basically destroyed football as the working man’s game starting with the disproportionate amount of tv money dished out to the English game and then the EPL.They have the cheek to complain about this proposed European super league probably because they went the preferred broadcaster then they helped stoke up outrage that led to fan protests culminating in Sunday’s game between Man U and Liverpool being postponed. Then we had to suffer that arsehole Souness (Mr EBT corporate Murray ass licker) going on about how he could have been killed or mamed by “fans” hrowing flares and beer cans at the gantry which is of course overstepping the mark but to listen to that toy loving twat dismissing fans protesting as being out of order makes you sick …this is the guy who took money from The Sun despite their lies about Liverpool fans at Hillsborough. Sky sports have had an agenda against this ESL proposal and have been responsible for stoking up the anger of the fans and when the fans really kicked off the come out with mock outrage at their behaviour. Unlikely as it is it would be wonderful if this proved to be a catalyst to returning football to the fans who actually support their clubs by buying tickets to attend the matches preferably ,as the Milan Ultras pointed out,at traditional kick off times. It would be great if we could return football, before Sky tv helped turn it into a rich man’s plaything, back to a time where any number of teams ,some from smaller countries, could win European cups.

Sorry for the typos…toy= tory as well as a few other typos that I couldn’t be bothered fixing.

Thanks for the reply. I’m aware of your background as we have met , although briefly.

I get your defensive stance on PL’s record and appreciate your opinion.

I don’t walk in PL’s shoes and given that you have way more experience than moi , in the mechanics of boardrooms and businesses I see some merit in what you say.

What I fail to understand is , our poor recruitment policy , why we didn’t change the manager in October, and absolutely deplorable communication with the support.

Add to that, a non existent PR , and a failure to even challenge Institutional bias at the SFA, especially when they endorsed a fraudulent European licence. Admitted in the High court.

Your comment regarding fulfilling the plan for the majority shareholder is telling.

We haven’t tried to be the very best we can be in the football department of the business.

From what I gather, PL’s KPI’s don’t reflect success on the park, but keeping the “ company “ in profit .

The business department and the football department don’t always seem aligned .

Neither is the boardroom aligned with the fans in ambition.

Being one step in front of Rangers wasn’t a good barometer of success, imho.

I think we do agree on the boardroom becoming stale.

    Nice chatting. HH

    I recognise that post

  11. Some of you can’t or wont see the woods for the trees. Dermot Desmond is failing in one of his businesses that he cares passionately for. He carries the can for now, Sevco wont be long in passing the buck.

  12. I Reckon John – If he is backed the way a Manager should be…….. whos the Backroom staff?

Shocking Lenny wisnae Allowed his own team to try get 10.

    Anger is an energy.

I’m thinking Aidan will want to go see the Celts. I am scunnered by the Board.

55 is Everywhere a LIE beyond Belief.

  13. Celtic were out thought tactics wise – Scott Bains kick outs were the worst of his career. He has caught the malaise.

Credit to Newco they didnae let us build from the back.

  14. Greenpinata on

    Petec,

The team selection was so predictable and so unimaginative.

The players were so predictable and lethargic.

The ” tactics” were so unchanged.

    The subs were so predictable.

We were so predictable in all aspects that slippy G and Co did not to be taxed ( predictable word for the huns)

Most of us called for change, the change is must more far-reaching than we predicted.

    Cheers and HH.

  15. IF some Celtic players were/are unhappy at Shane Duffy getting an alleged £40.000 a Week…Then WHO is to blame for that ?

It was NOT The Players that decided Duffys alleged wages…it was Lawwell and the Board.

IF true about Duffys weekly wage, then its no surprise that maybe SOME Players wanted out ?

I am NOT excusing any Players who may have been pissed off, as I do believe that Players MUST accept responsibility for poor performances and results. Whenever I had a bad game in my younger Days…I didnt go and blame the Manger/Coaches or any Committee etc…I blamed ME !

  16. Ive read the new Rule in relation to Calmacs situation yesterday…the fact is the Ref should NOT have Yellow Carded him for that 1st Offence…

However, it would have been great to see John Kennedy and/or ANY of the other coaches pointing this Rule out to the 4th Official at the very least ?

At the VERY Least…Celtic supporters SHOULD expect our Managers/Coaches….AND Players to KNOW the Rules…even if other Clubs do not ?

Its just so UNProfessional….just like so many other issues this season.

    HH.

  17. I was very tempted to Switch Off yesterday when it went to 3-1, but I stuck with it.

At 3-1, and over 30 minutes still to play, I thought it could end up 6 or 7 ?

Kennedys use of subs yesterday was also shocking as many have already Posted on here. Was Kennedy sending out a statement to leaving the Griff UNused…and putting Johnstone on instead when we NEEDED a proven Goal scorer…I really dont know..only John Kennedy can answer that ?

    HH.

  18. Good morning cqn from a rainy Garngad

    Same old same old yesterday.

Every coaching team member should sacked today. Called in and sacked.

I am not over reacting just being reasonable, the coaching team like our board are not fit for purpose.

Why persist with the same dross.

Let a youth coach step up for the last 2 games.

    That was utterly abysmal yesterday.

From JK team selection, tactics and use of subs.

    Interview- FAILED

    D :)

  19. Like Lenny before him the longer this shit show goes on the more JK is looking incompetent/useless to any future employers. It’s not good for him even he is being let down in the same way as Lenny was by a board who could not manage a piss up in a brewery.

Oh of course we will reward said incompetent’s with some job role for JK.

    D :)

  20. I don’t know if I’m talking nonsense here but it struck me quite forcibly just now listening to Radio Scotland. The 2 broadcasters were having a joke about the expression “Mother of God”. which seems to have been used on the programme Line of Duty. It meant nothing to them, apart from something to laugh at. It might explain to some degree how Scotland is seemingly blind to anti-Catholic/Irish/Celtic bigotry.

  21. The MJ sub prop summed up JK day

Not a scapegoat MJ. Just a player who would struggle to be in Aberdeen team

Big hand to JF.always invisible at ibrox

He was so invisible he actually escaped criticism

The only Celtic player who actually failed to get close to any Sevco players to make a tackle

Well done James. Amazing to be so poor

  22. Paul The Spark on

Been a season ticket holder since Hampden. I put my money where my mouth was when Fergus took over but not anymore. Been a horrible year for my family due to covid and having to watch this car crash unfold has been too much. The thing I find unforgivable is the silence from the board to our fans and let’s not forget the barriers they installed around our stadium to keep us away. I don’t trust them anymore.

    Hail Hail

V much enjoyed reading your two posts from last night.

Celtic’s treatment of its customer base, especially in terms of experience and comms, has been poor for years. But spectacularly so this year.

An indictment of the club, given how many v successful business owners are fans of the club. None of their savvy or oversight has been tapped into, it would seem.

Appointing Lennon, retaining Lennon, placing cronies in key positions, openly disdaining the fans, doing nada as the season crumbles etc. These are all secondary symptoms of the principal crime, namely Lawwell and Desmond’s commitment to a strong ‘Rangers’ at any price.

‘Great club’ etc. Even if it means we all continue to participate in the charade of a rigged game. It’s good for business is their maxim.

Make it bad for business. Don’t fund a rigged game. Chase these Tory bastards by withholding your hard earned. And whatever jam tomorrow nonsense P67 spins you can safely ignore. He’s just Lawwell’s factotum trying to convince you to ignore the complicity in cheating that lies in plain sight.

    ————————————————–

You are absolutely not talking nonsense.

Jamesgang – you are right about the wealth of talented individuals who support Celtic, and the dearth of imagination shown by our Board for countless years in attempting to tap into it.

From the little I have read re: McKay, he seems to be an imaginative, forward thinking executive – hopefully he’ll be more outward looking at the opportunities that exist for Celtic to really grow. Let’s see who really has 500 million fans around the world ;-)
