    St Stivs, saw the lads earlier; doubtful they are genetically related

    My friends in Celtic,

     

     

    Just making my way back ( via a few Pitstops ) from my favourite watering Hole in Brussels. A satisfactory result and I did chuckle at Matt getting a bit of constructive criticism in O’ Reillys.

     

     

    It was a hard fought draw against a very determined team who knew it was a must win game for them.

     

     

    It’s 2023 and we are still the only team undefeated since the introduction of VAR in Scotland.

     

    I would have settled for that stat before a ball was blootered.

     

     

    HH, the journey continues.

    That was a terrific result under very difficult conditions. One full-back making his debut and one just off the plane after being gone a month. Hostile crowd on the players backs for the duration of the game. Somehow the bhoys managed to dig in and come out with our 9 point lead intact. Couldn’t be more proud of this group of players. CCV and Starfelt were immense. Our bench made the difference, especially Mooy – this guy looks like a steal. Well done Ange on making the changes that got us a goal. Leaving 2 through the middle was a masterstroke. This will feel like a defeat for thems. Totally deflated after putting in what was probably their strongest performance of the season in a must win game. That’s why we’re champions!

    That’s a damning picture , but even if Goldson had caught the ball and shyed it out of the huns box , we wouldn’t have got the penalty .

    I am guessing the manager, and coaching staff , and the analytics people compare bernabei, and JJ, and made a decision not to play him.

     

     

    they will have reasons we dont know,

     

     

    same with forrest ahead of jota or abada, there will be a sound reason for it.

     

     

    and the same for O’Riley ahead of Mooy.

     

     

    fitness, illness, carrying knocks, who knows. a bug in the camp ? dehydration, lack of sleep, who really knows.

     

     

    i do know no one that called Celtic players gutless or useless or hoping not to get injured before a big transfer, i do know that you dont know why a selection is made.

    Well, the national BBC news reckons their penalty was the right decision. They simply ignored Goldson’s “save”. It wouldn’t surprise me at all, if Sportscene did the very same.

    Shankpen and Kyogo both on 15 goals in SPFL. Take away his penalties and Lawrence is on 7 goals.

     

     

    Hearts have had 8 pens this season. Celtic 2.

     

    Huns have had 5.

     

     

    I wonder if you can guess the only team in the SPFL who haven’t conceded a penalty this season?

    If I was a Hun I’d be worried about the mentality of their team at the end. We would have gone for a third and fourth to guarantee the win, instead Beale played safe and after we exited looked like they settled for the draw

     

     

    If you’re telling everyone that your rivals are better than you before the game and there’s a gap to be bridged, and then you send a message to the players in the subs you make and the way you finish the game it’s not exactly a winning mentality.

     

     

    We saw it with Gerrard losing the place after they beat us at Celtic Park and then thinking the job was done, days like today make a lot of his chat seem a bit empty

    I haven’t been on their forums so I don’t know how they’re feeling re Beale.

     

     

    If I were a hun, I’d be pretty pissed off with him. 2-1 up, in the ascendancy, he goes on to bring on Jack and Sands, moves Sakala away from a diabolical Juranovic into the middle where Starfelt and CCV limited him for the rest of the game.

     

     

    Beale’s every move after going in front was negative, in a game they had to win, at home.
