  1. I wonder how bad VAR has to be, before Celtic make any kind of critical noise.

Scary to think we’ve not seen it yet

That powder is looking awfy dry

Our club accepted having 5 titles stolen by a cheating Deidclub, and the subsequent loss of CL money, cheating they could prove, and which some of those involved have admitted to.

So why would they even think about doing anything about cheating that they can’t prove?

Because it is the right thing to do.

Because our support should expect them to.

Because they have a responsibility to shareholders.

The pathetic sycophants in what passes for Scotland’s 4rth estate are a joke.

They won’t raise the incompetent and or corrupt officials in Scotland.

    Our club should.

Do you not care that ourselves and the reincarnated huns are ref’d differently?. Is that acceptable to you?

Gollum is on record having given a penalty because he heard it.

Celtic don’t need to prove corruption and any legal advice would be against accusing of corruption because of the financial risk involved.

If Gollum isn’t corrupt he is guilty if he seen the volley ball block, he is guilty of gross proffesional misconduct.

  3. AOW, thanks for that. Now, if we are going to be fair minded I can, at a stretch, see why Brother Beaton gave that as a penalty at first glance. However THAT was exactly what VAR should be used for. That video shows clearly that it wasn’t a penalty and VAR should have been used for it.

    Verdict? Cheating, simple as.

  4. Great result today. Some really good performances at the home of our nearest rivals who were backed by 98% of the support and some compliant VAR officiating.

We lost our best player (this season imo) through injury as we were bossing things just before the half hour mark. Had to play an injured player out of position for the rest of the game against an opponent who simply had to win the game, or basically need snookers now for the rest of the season. Despite this Celtic still managed to get the necessary point needed and maintain a 9 point lead with 2 home games to conclude the 2nd round of matches.

As for those experts wetting themselves and whinging all day that they know better than the manager …….. lol

  5. Coneybhoy, then VAR would have seen this then as it is a clear and obvious error by ref.

Which is why it was brought in, no?

To not highlight it is therefore cheating

  6. PAULSTHROUGHBALL88 on 2ND JANUARY 2023 6:36 PM

Every single time the suits who run our club turn a blind eye to the corrupt and or incompetent officials in Scotland they give tacit approval to the corruption and or incompetence.

This tacit approval empowers the huns

  7. The much maligned James Forrest played alongside a debutant today on the right side at the toughest domestic away venue we will visit. He played against the 2 biggest rangers threats by all accounts pre game. Kent and Barisic.

Can anyone tell me anyone who has played for us with a higher percentage win record v rangers than Forrest in their career ?

    Played 26 won 18 lost 5.

  8. BURNLEY 78.

James was poor today and contributed very little during his time on the pitch. He has played well in the previous few games coming on as a sub. He should not start before Jota and Abada.

Staggering even for the thousands of Celtic supporters that seen it all coming down the pike, that we’re actually being cheated more often, rather than less. under VAR. It’s actually emboldened them, with not one single review going against Sevco since October, and it’s all available recorded by SKY and hidden in Hamdump’s angles that only the holy Willie Collum’s get to see?

Celtic fans can capture every honest mistake, share it, then dissect it and in some cases conclude what we always thought, about the rigged game that’s already killed one club. On a scale of one to Jorge Cadette, how handball can handball get, if you’re Connor Goldson?

The evidence is there but conclusions will remain hidden, when they connive not to show it, no review, it wasn’t a penalty. The internet is awash with evidence to the contrary, handball is handball even when it’s Poor ‘relegated’ Rainjurz FC, time has moved on, even if Hamdump hasn’t.

  10. Just had a message from my wife telling me she has had another email fromTees for Tims server is down as they had 6,000 on the website in a very short space of time

I wonder if supporting the debutante (who i thought had a good game) today was part of the reason Big Ange picked him today?

    Definitely away now.

It’s quite obvious from my post that I don’t think any of our club’s acceptance of being cheated is alright.

But how you can be aware of what they have already allowed to go unchallenged this century and expect them to make a stand on subjective decisions like ‘deliberate handball’, ‘enough contact to make him fall’ etc, I don’t understand, mate.

Jamesie, IMO, disnae huv the stomach for the nitty gritty getting ahead in these games…. especially the hate factory.

I reckon Matt got done by Lundstram and went into a bit of a shell. No protection.

It takes a certain player to play for Celtic at the HATE Factory.

  15. When controversary arises, Huns issue Public Statements, Celtic don’t but according to themselves they raise the issues through the proper channels.

Generally I’m OK with that, but I think the non decision by Willie is a step too far, I really would like us to go Public on this one,

Willie didn’t need to award a penalty, all he had to do was to ask Beaton to check monitor & make his own decision, but he didn’t even do that.

I think Celtic are entitled to ask why.

Is he saying the ball wasn’t handled, or the Hands weren’t extended to make his frame bigger.

We all know the real reason why and the decision can’t be changed but if Willie is made to squirm , he might think twice next time.

  16. AuroraBorealis79 on

Great result today considering the performance & other circumstances.

How anyone can now deny that VAR is used for no other reason but to handicap Celtic would be very surprising indeed.

Both big calls in todays game were the most blatant show of incompetence (cheating) we have witnessed this season.

The first penalty call for Rangers did not even have any contact from the defender. The second, a clear handball by the defender. A definite penalty under the rules of the game.

Today is the most important as it is the first instance of where it has cost us a potential 2 points.

Disgraceful behaviour from the authorities & an embarrassing silence from celtic.

  17. Well that was a strange experience today … but one of my best games against the Huns without even winning

My first ever game with just me & Miss GFTB and no one else (her mum went to her daughters house .. ie the Rangers end) … MissGFTB made me get the Sky package yesterday because the firestick guff is rubbish, (her words) tried my best not influence her (with the Hun song book & cheating officials) …

We celebrated Maeda’s goal jumping about the living room like a pair of dafties …

Then she actually says … “dad Greg (SYHFB) Taylor going off has seemed to set us back” … wise words indeed… her wee pal sent her the GT Twitter clip within minutes ….

Anyhow … who cares … another late goal to deflate the Huns … wee Kyogo is a special special player, dare I type it … Larsson(esque) in everything he does

When Kyogo scores the equaliser we were jumping about the living room like a couple of nutters … 2nd January is my old man’s 28th anniversary of his passing … I know for a fact he would be as proud as punch with his granddaughter that he never met today … she was a wee credit …. and her going bonkers today in the first few minutes and the last few minutes of the game were things that I will take to my grave :-)

One defeat in 52 league games … thank you Ange

Liquidation happened … but any entity fae Ibrox is still the Huns … never let what they do spoil your/our Celtic enjoyment … 🍀

    An absolute passenger again today….

  19. I would like to hear Ange coming out and asking he question on VAR – before the game he’s reported as having said he hoped VAR wouldn’t be an issue – well it was

  20. Gene from earlier.

I agree with what you say and how hey could justify the penalty awarded to the deid team baffles me, tbh. Still. the programme ended with a nice wee tribute to Frank McGarvey and they showed both his and Davie Provan’s goals in the 85 Final.

  21. That Frank tribute at end of sportscene had me filling up.

there is a cracker montage of his time at st mirren, i need to find it,

  22. TET

Jota continued his run and okay he may have been a bit lucky , the ball then came off him and ended up with the wee man thumping in the equiliser after a stramash 🥳

  23. Gene, I too would like to hear our manager speak out about VAR.

Would it make any difference with the SFA or even UEFA (considering the bigot Dallas has an influential job there)?

I think we should tell the SFA we will withhold any monies to pay for VAR until it is used properly and fairly, which in effect means, imo, getting referees from outside Scotland operating it.

  24. glendalystonsils on

Just watched the Sportscene highlights and have to say I’m pretty disgusted by Shaun Maloney’s post match observations . I thought Andy Walker was bad for an ex Celt but Maloney could give a contortionist lessons in bending over backwards . When Neil McCann sounds more fair and balanced than you do Shaun , then you have a credibility problem . A regular spot on Sportscene must be a pretty attractive wee earner .

  25. I feel a bit silly because when i seen the slow motion replay of Goldson’s handball, both arms being brought up to meet an incoming shot, I turned to my friend and said that there’s no way VAR could ignore it. There’s no way VAR doesn’t make Beaton walk to the monitor. VAR in Scotland continues to genuinely amaze me by its standards.

  26. Eratic, Giakoumakis had a vital touch off it to set up Kyogo, but yes I’d credit Jota as the main creator of the opportunity.

  27. Canada’s Alistair Johnston had quite the stellar debut for Celtic today against Rangers in The Old Firm’s 2-2 draw

    – 90 minutes

    – 1 clearance

    – 1 interception

    – 5 tackles

    – 6/10 duels won

    – 88 touches

    – 55/59 passes

Not a bad day at all for the #CanMNT defender.

  28. THE EXILED TIM on 2nd January 2023 8:39 pm

Jota is NOT 100% fit, or Ange is a liar, he missed training a few days ago, prob the reason he is not starting, but some on here will know better.

    …………………………………………………………..

As long as Jota bins the Tache. :))

    He is phenomenal.

It’s that Time of year where people are struggling.

We shoulda Won this day. We didnae but the League is looking a Cert.

I know the 8th of April game is likely to be moved but PARTY TIME. :)

If Sunday – It’s Monday off.

“He does land on the top of Starfelt’s foot therefore it is a foul and a penalty” Copyright Shaun Maloney .

Re Goldson’s handball “Was it a penalty? …I don’t like the rule” . Copyright Shaun Maloney . Just answer the question ya wee shite .

That is not really Ange’s job.

The Celtic Hierarchy should be asking the question Shakespeare style @ least. Certainly not the Head Coach of the Fitba operations.
