  1. The only thing worse than the Celtic performance today was that ‘yet again’ CQN constantly crashing but with the added bonus of multiple ads still appearing and refreshing with the screen jumping all over as the ads refresh despite my having Ad blocker etc. Can’t anything be done as it is happening a lot during games?

  2. overseasbhoy on

waiting for the great one to come on and sugar coat that abysmal performance

  3. prestonpans bhoys on

If you have 57% of possession and only one shot on target, you have to seriously question your tactics

  4. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

    OG Rafferty.

Completely agree. Our club has agency here. The common concern amongst fans is whether they will do all within their control to succeed.

    Really depends on Desmond.

Lawwell will always, always do the minimum.

I’m already over today’s defeat. We were rank. Game meant nothing to our players and it showed.

  5. We just have to suck up the pish that will be forthcoming now from Ibrox for the next few months.

If our players wanted Lennon to get the job they haven’t shown it. We need a summer like the one after the semi final loss to warburton.

  6. Did Scott Sinclair get on?…As soon as he crossed the line I never saw him again.

Of course Lenny is going to get all the flak but for me it is of secondary importance of who’s manager.

The team [not squad] needs at least a 50% overhaul.

20-30 million needs to be spent.

If that job goes to Neil Lennon then that’s fine by me.

The alternative of Lennon or any other manager working by and large with what we have with one or two additions equates to us probably not winning the league next season and definately not making the Champions league.

    Over to you Peter Lawell.

  7. quadrophenian on

Gutted with that guff show from the Champs.

Watched with my big pal – exPro AFL player – and he observed only one team wanted to win that. Doesn’t Celtic have any hard men, he asked, cos they bossed yous all over the park.

H/t to them; they put a team on the park who had us sized up well before kick-off.

    Over to you Peter…Desmond…

  8. succulentlambstinks on

What chance do we have. Went down to 9 men soon as Sinclair came in the pitch.

  9. FAVOURITE UNCLE on

Only one question needed at interview for next manager.

HOW DID SPURS SCORE THREE GOALS ON WED. NIGHT.

  10. Ray Singh-Carr on

Dreadful performances all over the park and also in the dugout. If any good comes of this it will hasten the departure of a few of the passengers that we currently have (e.g.Burke, Toljan, Ntcham, Sinclair etc.)

This sort of performance has been months in the making. God alone knows just how we manage to get so many injuries, and just what on earth we do all week at Lennoxtown regarding practising deadballs. We continue to look clueless at corners and free-kicks. I will always love Lenny for all that he has brought to the club in his times here, but today (along with the last few months if we are honest!) show just why we need a new broom with a bit of cash to spend to refresh the squad before Sevco get themselves close enough for the MIB factor to have a damaging effect.

  11. This week has been a case study in how to do things badly.

From Weah being off loaded to team and tactics today, we pretty much got everything wrong.

Hope lots of work going on behind the scenes to secure title next season. Focus and regroup

  12. patmcgrathtakesapenalty on

However, we are the champions and as always, remain the better looking, more thoughtful and wittier supporters. We will never lose that contest.

  13. PASS MARKS from Me to Scott Bain and all the other Celtic defenders, especially Jonny Hayes who never stopped trying.

Again Broonie was left to try and do it ALL on his own in Midfield.

Our “Forwards” NOT holding the ball Up, our Midfield Swamped..resluting in our defence being under attack throughout. It took 83 Minutes for the Hun RESERVE Goalie to get his Gloves dirty after Burke totally scaffed his “Shot”.

Ollie Burke…couldnae trap a Mouse with a Ton of cheese….hopeless.

Did Sinclair actually touch the ball when he came on..Im NOT Blaming him ?

  14. From thefa.com

    VIOLENT CONDUCT

Violent conduct is when a player uses or attempts to use excessive force or brutality against an opponent when not challenging for the ball, or against a team-mate, team official, match official, spectator or any other person, regardless of whether contact is made.

In addition, a player who, when not challenging for the ball, deliberately strikes an opponent or any other person on the head or face with the hand or arm, is guilty of violent conduct unless the force used was negligible.

Only one question needed at interview for next manager.

HOW DID SPURS SCORE THREE GOALS ON WED. NIGHT.?

    ANSWER…..They took Victor Wanyama off…..

  16. We’ve played badly before during this season but never so many individually as well as collectively. And every player second best.

I hope it’s just the effect of nothing in it for us and them thinking it was a cup final.

  17. We just have not convinced under Lennon. Two good performances against Aberdeen aside we’ve been poor.

Neil keeps saying he’s changed nothing but our performances have markedly dipped since he came in. We’ve been poor in spells this season but have been consistently poor under Lennon.

There’s no way he should get the job.

  18. the treble treble is the priority – not a meaningless game against them. We rested players and gave a run out for other not featured recently. I’d rather he played Henderson tho, cracking player that Lennon has overlooked

  19. weebobbycollins on

Ole Dave, with that very observant eye of his, will sniff the toxic air and believe that if he can get some more dirties through the launderette then next season he can improve his lot tangibly and finally snatch the riches from the grasp of the sleepy, good guys…

  20. Kris Boyd says Lennon deserves the Celtic job.

    That should tell us something.

  21. Very poor today

    Is it really bothering me?

    No, the league is over.

Move on, final to look forward to and strengthen in the summer

    Champions again ole ole

    B-)

  22. quadrophenian on

Can the game meaning nothing to our players, be explained to the 800 who bought tickets and turned up?

As for key positions, I’d have Emilio at LB any day of the week over hapless Hayes (never a Tic player btw)

Aussie Tom musta been given an invisible cloak for his birthday.

CalMac still missing BRs mentoring something rotten. We havent learned from repeat matches v them at all!

Is John Kennedy picking the team, or what??

  23. Hopefully a blessing in disguise today. There can be no doubt left in anyone’s minds that we need quality additions. Such additions will bring out the best in the players who are performing below par. Ntcham for one – he can play but he needs to be playing with better players.

I would read no more than that in to the game. Maybe some complacency has crept in. Maybe a reminder that we won’t always thump them is a good thing too.

Tactically I was disappointed in Lenny. Didn’t change the shape significantly for my money. I almost thought Slippy might not be as bad as we thought but then I think back to every other team who have taken points off us this season and basically you’re looking at similar tactics with slightly better players.

But context is not meaningless either. The league was won. It was a dead rubber in reality.

After the initial celebrations from them I thought their players looked like they realised it wasn’t that big a deal. Inevitably that’ll sink in with the bulk of the support too.

Walker said one worthwhile thing today which SHOULD haunt the orcs – several of that Celtic team won’t be in the hoops again next season.

    THE PAIN BEFORE THE GAIN

I was never keen on a weakened team – my theory is give them nothing, particularly hope

Well they have hope now and between now and next season they will be foaming at the mouth

    Why I question NL

Micky Johnson is not ready for Huns away

Tom Rogic is simply not fit

Oliver Burke was thrown in after being ignored for 3 months

    Toljan the same

Lustig under Lennon has improved but he was a target for Ryan Kent (they got first goal by Kent closing down lustig)

If we are playing 3 at the back why replace lustig with a small right back when you have Benkovic

NL may be keeping certain players fresh for the Cup Final

We will all forget today when we win a Treble Treble

Apart from Aberdeen at Hampden and Pittodrie we have not dominated may games

A treble treble makes the summer

    But not sure about NL

Got my choc ice in hand, got over it, next a cup final. Oh if that result has pished anyone off I’ll take their cup final ticket?

  26. At least today exposes what WE need for next season to our money men whilst today will have THEIR money men thinking they need very little.

Of course I want the treble treble but it is not my priority .In all reality what I want is champions league football and and a comfortable gap in talent on the field between us and them. Both should be achievable but I doubt the team on the park I saw today will be up to it.

Being out thought and out fought by a rookie manager is not a great recommendation , I’m afraid.

“Our custodians are sleepwalking is towards on field parity with deidco. Let that sink in for a moment.”

Well- they’re ahead at the moment on the field.

Off the field we’ve won 8iar.

Cannae see them equalling that next year.

    ———

I don’t know if you’re shameless, but this response is most certainly glib. You’re a very intelligent Tim. You well know that 1IAR is EVERYTHING to the volk, just as it was for us when we stopped them.

Simple question, will today’s events help or hinder sevco – their players, fans and finances – as they look forward to next season and the next Glasgow derby?

“I’ve changed nothing” , and NOTHING will change under Lennon and cling-on Kennedy.

When he came on he had one touch, he NEVER defends, too damn lazy for that. Earning thousands per week and shows no interest. Hold yer head in shame Sinclair.

Cost £9 million. Dribbled himself constantly into a dizzy fit. Looks completely dembele’d. Chase yerself edouard.

Rogic was honking today his worst performance in a Celtic shirt imo.

McGregor was as ineffective as he was in left back position yon time.

Ajer big wavy arms will never be a defender if he plays to the age of 90.

Only one guy cares in that whole team

    one guy … brooney.

    The rest are robbers.

  30. Nye Bevans' rebel soldier on

Well beat, but the treble treble is still on so please please keep it in

prospective, don’t read back CQN these day’s too much drama.

Ps …..Dermot Weld has won the first 2 at Leopardstown :)

  31. I thought the New Year performance at Ibrox was worse,

We had more possession today and in fairness, there second goal was well worked.

Had Burke been a footballer, we would have had an interesting last 10 mins

  32. We win the league right?

    Asking for some friends.

Have a good day and don’t let this nonsense bother you.

Trophy to lift the next two weekends. No bad

    ROBERT

Ntcham will be playing with better players real soon. Most likely at a continental club w Euro aspirations.

Sorry bhoys, I just dont know how to easily dismiss a drubbing by a bunch of loanees, old lags and neds.

  34. Rose at 5.30am to watch the game but when I saw the team selection was sorely tempted to return to bed. Wish I had. Very poor performance which was due primarily to our midfield. Brown, McGregor, Rogic, Johnston, were all shocking. Ajer tried his best, Odsonne was completely isolated all game and what looked like a pacy forward line never got off the blocks. It doesn’t matter to me that we lost this game, it was meaningless, but I thought the bhoys would have tried harder for Lenny.

  35. Hard to get to upset about losing a game of football that has no baring on anything.

Maybe it will annoy the plc board to step it up in the summer and recruit.

Would like eduard to get a partner next season and a first choice rightback in too. Wee bit more legs in the he middle of the park alongside mayner and away we go again. Oh and a centreback.

Reckon compper, ntcham and sinclair will be off alongside all the loans and out of contract players too so should be decent resourses to freshen up the squad.

The smsm will talk up the challenge because that increases interest and keeps them relevant.

  36. Bill Shankly once said of a player he couldn`t trap a bag of cement,Burke comes to mind.Johnston is too good for development football but well out of his depth as he was in the last Ibrox game.Celtic could have played well and still lost that game but the lack of any real game plan and being consistently second to the ball is completely unacceptable.

  37. See if your out and about and run into a “rangers” player and he is smiling ask him to show you his medals …

Wee james would never have missed the Burke chance..
