Their league chances are wafer thin so a Scottish Cup was the minimum they expected/demanded. Only a cobbled together and tired Celtic team stood in their way. They had a week free to prepare whilst we slugged it out midweek in Aberdeen. We then lose our 2 best players to add to a dreadful list of injuries to key players.
The scene was set and you couldn’t make it up.
A poor, poor game but brilliant Celtic victory has sent a dagger into their black hearts.
So very grateful and proud tonight. 🍀

There will be a growing narrative that “both sides are equally to blame” and/or “the vast majority of both sets of fans behaved impeccably”. Bull, absolute bullshit !!
The tone was set by the “f— the Pope” stuff before the game sung by thousands – thousands – not any “minority”. So before mealy-mouthed Scottish politicians start commenting they should forget about “dancing roon the handbags” and effing call it out properly.

The transition from Schmeichel to Sinisalo was always going to happen. It can happen seamlessly at the end of season or it can happen mid-season when the form of one keeper dips and puts us in jeopardy. That has happened. We transit and move on. I think we’re in safe hands.
I’m in the mood for a little shadenfruede, anyone got some FF quotes ??

There have only been , as far as I recall ( albeit I’m open to correction ), three significant altercations between fans of Scottish clubs on the pitch after significant Scottish Cup games

2016 Rangers lose to Hibs and
Today ( albeit far more minor than the other two thankfully) – Rangers lose to Celtic.

Love it. Can’t imagine what damage is being done to the English language on FF. A rare moment of joy for us in a difficult season.
I think parades with the trophy around the ground after a final was stopped after we beat them in the League Cup Final of 66 (I think) when they invaded and attacked our players.
I know he’s not universally liked here but I thought that big Packy was a decent goal-keeper and far from the worst commentator. But what a diatribe on shortie at full time! Listeners from abroad, or even from Mars, might well have thought that the Celtic team bus should have been driven direct from Ibrox to Barlinnie.
Sanity broke out on RS when the Martin O’N was finally broadcast.

“We are Dortmund to their Munich Everton to their Liverpool. And anyone who thinks otherwise is just kidding themselves. Rangers are losers, don’t take my word for it look at where we are come May when the silverware is handed out. 2012 killed the spirit in the club. This is who we are now.”
“Yes, worst I’ve felt in a while, they were playing without 5 of ther best players and we were at home. Our showing was poor we never looked like scoring. The ending just summed it all up. Real sore one.”
“We live on all our past glories. We are now the Glasgow version of aberdeen who live on their early 80s glory”.
“I’m 36, spent the entirety of my 20s – my best years basically – watching failure after failure. Keep waiting for it to turn the corner. The corner never comes. We spend tens of millions and still produce that against the worst celtc team in decades. Someone above says they accept it now. I understand that that but I can’t and won’t. Never been closer to giving up the season ticket. I just get zero joy from going anymore, so what’s the point? The players can’t be arsed either.”
“It’s beyond belief to be honest, we look across the city, we see a club in permanent crisis mode, at war with their supporters, chairman and managers quitting, they hire a 74 year old dinosaur to much hilarity on here.
Yet look at us now, today is watershed moment and it can’t go on.
They were missing most of their first choice XI yet we still couldn’t score against a back line containing 2nd choice players and loan signings, an utter embarrassment.
Rohl should be utterly mortified at going out of 2 cup competitions (soon to be 3) to that loathsome wee b****”
“Just bored of the same dross.
No matter the quality of the Celtic team, we inevitably find a way to lose.
That was an embarrassingly bad starting eleven from them today.
The only proper explanation for my support of Rangers since being back in the top flight, barring one season, is I must unconsciously be one of the most depraved masochists in the annals human history.
The reason it’s unclear to me is to marry up with that, I must also have catastrophic erectile dysfunction so even getting a stauner when it’s this bad isn’t possible.
Nothing else can explain it.’
“Can’t even beat a make shift Celtic team.
No Tierney, Jota, McGregor, Carter Vickers, Engels, 2nd choice keeper, a LB at CB, a nobody in the heart of defence who was then replaced by a dumpling. Yang, McGowan in from the start.
We are absolutely pathetic.”
“We have these cnuts on the ropes for 120 minutes, with Falkirk and St. mirren standing between us and a Scottish Cup, which could be Tav’s sending off with a trophy to close out his time here – and we, and he, bottle it. It is so unbelievable that I am convinced I am living in hell and constantly retrace my steps in life to see where I went wrong to endure this.”
BBC Radio Scotland’s front man started his post-penalties summary with, ‘From Celtic there was nothing. Absolutely nothing in either half.’ The very definition of a hurting Hotel Uniform November.
