CALLUM McGREGOR will lead out Celtic for the Premier Sports League Cup semi-final against Aberdeen at Hampden tomorrow night.
The Hoops skipper has confirmed he is “ready to go” after missing out the last two league games against Motherwell and Dundee with an abductor injury.
However, the influential midfielder will be in his usual berth against Dons with the Hoops just 90 minutes away from another showpiece occasion at the national stadium next month.
Fears from the Parkhead faithful that their inspirational onfield leader would miss out were dispelled when McGregor told Celtic TV: “I’m all good. Ready to go.
CALMAC BACK…skipper Callum McGregor will return for the League Cup semi-final against Aberdeen.
“It’s been a quiet week this week, but I’m feeling good and ready to get back out there.
”Sitting it out is not a feeling I’m used to. Sitting on the sidelines, kicking every ball, desperate to get back out there.
“But I’m good and ready to go.”
Luke McCowan took advantage of McGregor’s absence to start against Well and the Dens Parkers, but, of course, the energetic middle-of-the-park performer is not eligible for tomorrow’s occasion.
The £1million bargain buy on deadline day is Cup-tied after playing in the tournament earlier in the season for previous club Dundee.
Brendan Rodgers has the trio of Arne Engels, Reo Hatate and Paulo Bernardo from which to choose two to partner McGregor in the team’s engine room.
