This morning world football has plenty reason to be ashamed of itself. US prosecutors yesterday charged 16 Fifa officials, on top of the 14 charged earlier this year. As well as taking bribes and kick-backs, it is alleged money designated for charitable causes such as the relief of natural disasters, were siphoned off by Fifa executives. In recent years we’ve seen how revenue from charity games have been hijacked by club officials to pay bills, or perhaps fund signing bids for Daniel Cousin.
Tomorrow you are going to see the most Ethical Football Club in the World do its thing. Thousands of you will support the Foundation Christmas Appeal by putting money in buckets as you enter the ground.
That money will do incredible things.
It will support the Scottish Refugee Council, as they aid some of the world’s most vulnerable who have recently arrived in Scotland.
It will support the volunteers who run The Invisibles, who help homeless charities in Glasgow by providing sleeping bags, clothing and toiletries for rough sleepers.
It will support the Glasgow City Mission, in their work with vulnerable adults and families with disadvantaged pre-school children.
It will support the incredible work of the Wayside Club, who provide food, shower, shaving and First Aid facilities to Glasgow’s homeless 365 days a year.
It will support Loaves and Fishes, who open their doors to people who need clothes, toiletries and food.
It will support Glasgow East Women’s Aid, who work with women, children and young people affected by domestic abuse.
And it will support the Salvation Army, who have been a lifeline for countless thousands for longer than Celtic have been in existence.
The bar on ethics in football is not set particularly high, few clubs have a social mission as their core value. None do it like Celtic, the most Ethical Football Club in the World – bar none.
This is the story of football in Scotland 2015, no matter what happens in Switzerland or the Concafa region. You should be proud of your part in this great story. Let’s make it a good one tomorrow – and let people know this is happening tomorrow.

The TO is the small white building on the left…………………where the q is !
For clarity
The ticket office is a fancy portakabin on the Barrowfield side of the superstore.
I have been in the park head forge and retail park most of the day ( I detest Christmas shopping so I was dragged round )
Anyhoo – the usual rainy cold and windy weather but no big deal with no floods on the roads or traffic issues
Howeva – predicting storm Desmond to hit town around 2 am Saturday until 6 am Sunday and that might effect the match
Sure Desmond doesn’t attend often but wondering why the storm ?
rogers not even close to being the best ever.
I would postpone that game tomorrow, you can’t play in that, never mind sitting in it, I’ll be thinking twice if it’s on, it’s not fun to watch let’s be honest, it becomes a lottery.
Let Big Mike spend his cash on outing this lot, he has plenty por cierto

I know the weather is wild but is it a pitch inspection or a Stadium safety issue?

Thanks for the Ticket Office info. All geared up take a guest tomorrow -but will the game go ahead??

I think I agree. My seat adds to the Lottery aspect inasmuch as if the wind is blowing the wrong way I will get absolutely soaked. I leave home around 10:30 so I am luckier than those further afield in that I can await the announcement after the inspection.

I’m more lay than Law I’m afraid, but I’d be happy to put some effort into a crowd-funding. Let’s see how things play out in the meantime, and take it from there.
TBB
Fair enough and I will be willing to help you should I have anything to offer.
JJ
TBJ…
Hope my journey wasn’t a waste of time and the game is on tomorrow.
Thanks again for the ticket.
Ps…was hoping to have a wee look at your goodlady :) HH
Tim Horton
Its all a matter of opinions as in any sport …. I still think it’s between Marino and favre but Rogers has time
Not a fan of Brady as he plays for cheats who wear red white and blue.
sipsini, I just saw a Facebook pic but it looks like ol’ Jinky has hit the jackpot.
Sips
If the games off tomorrow I will be OK with that as I don’t appreciate sitting in 107 getting soaked to the skin.
My Mrs was trying on some sexy santa lingerie when I came to pick up my ticket .. you should have said and I could have introduced you lmfao
Corky
I won the Polish lotto ;)
Auldheid,
yeah that is why I believe that until the funds are withheld from the crooks nothing will change. As long as the revenue streams are worthwhile …. and how much has Sevco generated these last four years ?? Nothing will change. No government office will help. Look at how many hoops HMRC have had to jump through to get as far as they have and they are still not there yet because football has many friends in high places. In the end they will get what they desire (a ruling a change of law). Could be done in Westminster in a day if they really wanted too.
It can also be clearly seen from our accounts that nobody at Celtic is sitting on the board for any anthropological reasons.
We had the chance to mark everyone’s card but NO we choose to become a player in the ECA and the SFA and have achieved nothing about it.
The easily led will be fed the line that we don’t shout it from the rooftops and that we do our business privately. Tosh as far as I am concerned and misplaced tosh. Why not ? Why hide anything ?
Because we want to join the nose in the trough party. DD has become a billionaire doing exactly that.
Anyone who thinks that we are playing it clever is being fooled,
HH
tbj will give you two imo montana and bradshaw.by the way I am a browns fan. hurting.
Daft question.
Which would please Celtic most.
BDO winning, or BDO losing appeal.
I am glad Ronny came out and said it was a culmination of issues on Stokes suspension.
Tom Rogic in an interview for Inside Futbol said that Stokes is a regular when it comes to being late for the team bus on away trips.I seem to remember at Sunderland Roy Keane left him behind. He came back a day late for our most important game of the season against Inter Milan. In these days of social media I think its a good idea for players to stay away from pubs like the Brazen Head,so much can be misconstrued. You only have to watch him supposedly warm up at half time, his attitude is appalling. He is 27 probable to late in football terms to change his ways,I think it would be good for him and Celtic if there was a parting of the ways.
Managed to log in without any hassle!!!
Haven’t read back but
TBJ SAYS WEE OSCAR KNOX IS IN HEAVEN WITH THE ANGELS on 4TH DECEMBER 2015 3:47 PM
IMO A Rodgers the best at the moment and last night further proof to that effect.
Surely any all-time great QB argument needs to include Joe Montana??
soukous on 4th December 2015 4:08 pm
Stokes, if he is unhappy should simply be told that his time is up.
The problem with this one is, that like so much in football, it can be ten or twenty years before the ordinary fan learns the full truth of the affair.
And in the interests of consistency, if reports are true, should Rogic be disciplined for talking on social media about Stokes’ behaviour?
Last post should have read interview in Inside Football
Corckcelt…
BT showed me a couple of photos a while ago, yep, TBJ has excelled himself. Lucky bassa :))
greatest NFL QB ….. has to be Montana …. always a bit scrappy, but the guy was a winner
40,000 yard, 273 td, 8 probowls, 2MVP’s, 4/4 in superbowls, including 3 MVP’s
plus possibly the greatest ever showing for a college QB in the chicken soup bowl comeback …. for Notre Dame.

i thought it was the roads in edinburgh that were goosed
sitting here at waverly station and there are train delays and cancellations all over the place
is there a more useless piece of shite of an organisation in this country than scotrail
they should be disbanded or renamed hunrail so we will understand why they are so pish

apparently, Real kicked out of Copa del Rey for fielding an ineligible player!
“And in the interests of consistency, if reports are true, should Rogic be disciplined for talking on social media about Stokes’ behaviour?”
Quonno,
If this is the latest in a long line of discipline problems for Rogic the he might well be.
But I wouldn’t think so using a common sense approach.
I’m more inclined to think it was done in a jokey way much in the same way Broony described kc as biggest moaner and izzy as ‘longest in the shower.” on Soccer Am

but they will appeal and will win it.

Joe Montana has to be the best QB I saw, and the rest of the 49r team where not to shabby either, they where like the Barcalona of the NFL.
Foghorn,
I don’t want to start any rumours but…..
Bits falling off ibrox….days later…bits falling off everything!!!
Any old iron csc
Aw Naw
It’s a balancing act. Without the business there is no Celtic to support.
The business is a competitive one so we have to be competitive to stay in the game on and off the park. So we join the ECA.
Most importantly football is totally interdependent by nature which means we have to work with and play against others no matter how reprehensible we find them.
It doesn’t help that other clubs in this interdependent industry depend on what we dislike to survive. They keep the reprehensible alive as much as if not more than Celtic do and that’s how it is in Scotland.
We can strive to make how it is better but the realities of human nature as reflected by football mean that it will always be a balancing act.
Blaming Celtic for being part of it or driving it as you seem to suggest ignores so may realities that to blame what isn’t there on Celtic alone is simply unfair.
You might as well blame the scorpion for stinging the fox on whose nose he is hitching a ride across the river. It’s the nature of things.

I will reiterate comment I made on Stokes’ affair a few days ago.
It is another example of why players, especially Celtic players, should not be allowed within a hundred miles of any form of media.

The interview is in a jokey manner, but the guy has previous. Its been on the World Wide Web Sphere (as Gordon Brown would say) since 7th Nov.
Tim Horton / Squire / Mike
When I started watching American football it was Montana Marino mcmahon ….. Didn’t like chicago. .. not the 9ers… preferred the green and white ( almost ) of Miami and Marino hittING the marks brothers all Sunday long.
Guess my judgment on Montana is flawed as it’s biased… I admit that willingly.
Those channel 4 days of Walter payton, gerry rice .. Brett Favre. .. William Perry. .. and Lawrence Taylor. .. sold me on the sport.
I always liked the packers but when I moved to wisconsin in 2002 I became a cheese head for life …. the green and gold obviously help but I felt an affinity with their history.
The mannings are great qbs … and obviously Tom Brady is a legend already but he’s tainted imho by the patriots cheating .
One other guy who I rate very highly was Joe theisman … have you ever watched the movie blind side?

hi there, congrats on your daughter graduating, well done :-)
may i ask a question.
the other day when BDO sought leave to appeal, you rightly point out there is over £1billion resting on this outcome in the financial advisory sector.so there is some heavy duty interests concerned
Q.if say for e.g minty/(or other vested interest)funded an appeal, would this have to be disclosed by BDO?
Thanks in advance,
good luck tomorrow against stenni,:-)

A wee tech question.
CQN is my most visited site when I go online with my phone.
My phone contract gives me 500MB of data per month which I think is a fairly standard ammount. I dont watch videos or use any data greedy apps unless I am on wifi.
I used to use maybe 150 or 200 MB per month as normal usage.
My usage hasnt changed but it is next to impossible to get through a month now without surpassing my data allowance.
This all seemed to start around the launch of the new look CQN.
Just want to know if this is a consequence or a coincidence. Or if anybody else has the same thing happening to them
