Reason to enjoy Wednesday night number 67

Reason to enjoy Wednesday night number 67: Victor Wanyama didn’t get booked.

21-year-old Victor is a fabulous talent but he has also been a tad rash in his earlier Champions League outings this season.  One more yellow card will bring a suspension but his timing, and more importantly, his concentration, on Wednesday was excellent. This is a player maturing; more to come.

The 1254125 charity cycle left Lurgan this morning for Belfast port where they caught a ferry to Cairnryan. After they set wheel on Scotland they have a 37 mile cycle to Maybole, 7 miles of which is uphill, one of the most difficult parts of the endeavour.

They are people with the spirit of this club pumping through their veins right now. Check out their everyclick page for more information.

It was good but not as many Barca fans as I expected. Heard a rumour that the bus company who were supposed to collect 500 of them from Glasgow airport, who’d come on a package, failed to turn up so they had to make their own arrangements to get into the city centre.

Disapointing to hear, i see the band thats playing in brazen head tonight played at it .. Take it was very toned down ..celtic and folk songs ?

    Amahdams i think there called.

  3. just heard that sevco offered Hearts £500,00 of what they owe and Hearts have turned it down..strange way to do business.

You can’t blame “The Rangers” for commemorating remembrance day. It is their first one after all.

someone in our office does some bookclub thing, so there was a rangers annual 2012 sitting on display.

    this prompted a debate.

“how can you have an annual , when your not a year old ?”

Afternoon all. Need some advice. I’m in Abu Dhabi for the next 4 days and looking for a place to watch the game tomorrow. Checked Celticbars and the closest CSC is in Dubai which is out of my reach right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    —————————————————————

There is no ‘Celtic Pub’ in Abu Dhabi. Best bet is Heroes. It is a basement bar in the Crowne Plaza on Hamdan Street. Usually shows several matches simultaneously, but EPL tends to take priority. Call beforehand + check.

If you’re on your own, don’t be surprised if some exotic strangers start making small talk with you ;-)

Definitely, just keep me posted with details but tell that BMCUW he can make the arrangements for his own entourage this time ;-)

I didn’t get the chance to hear them mate sorry.

  7. Amahdams doesn’t mean anything that I am aware of, are you sure they are not called Amahdans, that is the phonetic Irish for Idiots. Not suggesting that the band are idiots but it is the type of name a folk group might call themselves.

I have unfortunately just watched the same – possibly one of the most sickening 15 minutes I’ve ever witnessed. What happened to quiet and solemn introspection in memory of the wasted lives from 2 world wars (and the tagged-on other conflicts)? They had military personnel playing a wee game of shooty in and the crowd in their triumphalist full-voiced worst. I was angry after seeing the portacabin selling poppy ‘tat’ in Buchanan Street this week but nothing prepared me for this. Oh, and a wee advert for upcoming games while we’ve got your attention – another world first proclaimed cos they’re broadcasting live from some non-entity ground.

And all of this in a cathedral raised on the avoidance of paying tax – even if they declare that the EBTs are legal the avoidance of tax still prevails.

This stain on humanity should just disappear. The supposed decent majority must have taken the day off.

Actually, the triumphalist jingoism reminded me of one of the WW1 dramas where all the young lads are rushing to sign-up with ‘Rule Britannia’ blaring, flags waving and the ‘over by Christmas’ optimism. Another lie that is soon made real.

  9. LondonCalling. Huns owe Hertz 850,000 they were trying to take advantage of Hertz’s problems by offering 500,000 now in FULL & FINAL settlement of debt. Glad that the minis told them to stuff it.

Poppy tedium comes round again. My old man is 96 in January and has been a Celtic man all his days and worked at CP for many years. He fought in WW2 and has many terrible memories of it. My uncle died in it as well, another Celtic man.

We’ve had a fabulous week, with our name and our fans reverberating all over the world. Respect the moment and don’t fall into the trap our media want. It can’t be hard to stay silent for 1 minute is all I want to say.

  15. Sorry if this question has been posted previously.

How many coefficient ponints have Celtic got in Europe this season? 8 games so far with only 1 defeat, we must have a good score even with 2 games left to play at the very least.

Cliftonville 2 up at ht v Linfield, is it just a coincidence that a certain team wearing blue in NI are hitting the skids at the same time as their parent club ?

What is happening at Aye Brokes sounds very much like a ludge organised rally for the kind of angry white men described during the week as typical Romney voters.

Redneck hillbilly fundamentalist flag wavers, most of whom would run a mile at the prospect of being involved in any real fighting.

You know. Morons who are too dumb to realise they are being royally shafted and manipulated by more intelligent sinister forces.

With 15 minutes to go I had to go out for a walk. I’ve never known stress like it. It’s clearly not healthy. When I came back my Wife and Son were banging on the window for me to get my considerable erse back in the house. 2-0. I then had to endure 4 minutes of injury time. (Where did that come from ?)

I watched it again on Sky+ the day after and I was still nervous. Don’t know what that’s all about.
