Kilmarnock are unbeaten across five League Cup and three league games this season, although all the latter ended in draws (home to Livingston, away and Hibs and Motherwell). The only black mark came as they dropped the points on penalties, after a 0-0 League Cup draw at Kelty Hearts. Their solitary win over a top flight side came in a 2-0 over Dundee United in the second round of the League Cup.
Brendan Rodgers big decision will be who to fill the gap created by injuries to Alistair Johnston and Anthony Ralston. Colby Donovan (turned 19 last week) is a natural right back who played against Livingston and Kairat. Having come through the development leagues in Scotland, he will also be more than familiar with plastic pitches.
The more experienced Marcelo Saracchi made his Celtic debut when he replaced Kieran Tierney at Ibrox two weeks ago. Marcelo is a left back who has played on the right before. Most expectations are likely to favour the Uruguayan getting the nod but that plastic will play on the manager’s mind. I would be tempted to go with Colby.
It will read as tongue-in-cheek, but we have an interest in whether Hearts drop points at Ibrox tomorrow. The Edinburgh side are joint top with Celtic, whereas the Ibrox outfit are not even in the top six. We are accustomed to looking locally for a challenge but that situation is fluid. Tony Bloom’s Hearts takeover will become relevant soon. Another Ibrox draw would be a decent outcome, although all we can do is look after ourselves.

The blogger. Thanks for that. I think 🤔
Brendan saying that the Board are” nice guys”and last week that these guys”Bleed Celtic”.All this,I suspect is true, but not once has Brendan said they are doing a good job”.Working hard in the window”does not count .He in fact said today,in his words they did a bad job in recruitment. He was left feelinng” Empty”.
All in all it was a brilliant performance from Brendan, maintaining his dignity, even being stabbed in the back by,a coward, did not reduce him to visible anger.
His interview on Sky,also very good.
Fairhill Bhoy @ 8:17 pm,
Yes, what a great loss, always well thought out and well constructed was SFTB’s comments.
May he R.I.P.

I reckon when Brendan said he wants to be Celtic manager beyond this season, he was putting a knife into the person who went running to the Sun about him “working his ticket”.
As BRRB said earlier, will be good to get back to the football
We know the cowards are still there but that’ll have to go on the back burner for now
Personally, .I’m not a fan of boycotts though completely respect those who do
I rarely attend in person these days though see 2 of my former CSCs listed as letter signatories. Hope a solution can be found

Why could Ange get players in in the 1st week of the window, but Brendan disappointingly can’t?
Didn’t realise it was the manager who did the scouting, negotiating and signing of players…
Tut tut Brendan, must do better……
………
Ange got the Celtic management keys, all scouting, negotiating, and signing of players done in week 1, week 2, at a stretch.
Brendan got the same Celtic management keys, and the club was hanging on at the last minute of the window, not knowing who was staying, or leaving, or arriving. That has to be unacceptable to a serious club?
Ange gets on with it, although in Europe he needed a clout on the lugs, which only came his way at Spurs, not Celtic.
Brendan is all polish, with a hollow shell underneath imho.
BBC’s “Only An Excuse” sketch show at New Year, of Brendan’s 1st season with us, were someone at the club must have been telling tales out of school, as it were.
The sketch started with Brendan all calm, composed, taing questions from a reporter, on the ball, answering the reporter speaking to him outside Lennoxtown front door, when the guy acting Brendan says:”Can you hold on for a wee minute…” well the sketch cut to Brendan going into a large dressing room thingy, closes the door, then the sound of shouting, players or staff shouting out as though someone had just gubbed them, and other shouts of a similar pain level, then Brendan reappears, coming back out the door, walked up to the reporter and continues with, “….Yes as I just said to you, etc, etc….” as though nothing had just happened.
What were whoever spoke to the BBC, trying to tell us?
That Brendan is a Jekyll and Hide? if not that, then what?
This was 9 years ago.
Turkeybhoy @ 8:35 pm,
No, he didn’t say they were good at their job and he did say they were good guys but he specifically said… “we need more than that.”
Also when asked about the Saturday 9:00 pm statement and how much Celtic have brought in and the money in the bank he replied…
“….If the chief executive or the chairman were here, then I’m sure they would speak. They’re not my questions to answer. But I understand why having that level of resource you would ask the question.”
So BR certainly sees the Chairman as party to the statement.
Hail Hail
I’m on Dubai time here. So it’s already cot time 💚
hoping for a 4-0 win on Sunday – All goals scored in first 11mins!!!!!
So,the Board knew by February, that Kyogo, and Maeda would need replacing in the Summer, along with Taylor. We then had the sale of Kuhn, and then Idah, and at the time had replaced none of them !!.We were forced to cancel Yang’s move, losing £3 million, and because we took no action in replacing Maeda, lost another£25 million in transfer fees.
I just find this incredibly bad planning.Would get you the sack in many jobs, probably, the ones a Mason got you into, the only ones retaining your services.
“And if that disnae work we’ll be leaving the game twelve minutes early an aw”
“Oh aye”
Stebhoy,
Not in the least bit funny.
CHAIRBHOY. If I remember correctly you gave as good as you got. Anyway, keep going son . Hate an arsehole 😉
After the speculation that brendan might hide and pass presser duties on to Kennedy , I was delighted that he not only faced the questions but took the fight to his enemies (whoever he/they *cough* might be).
He knows he has the backing of the vast majority of fans ,and that is a mighty thing .
Fairhill Bhoy @ 8:52 pm,
Cheers… Enjoy Dubai…
Hail Hail
Chairbhoy,
Was that not what I said, in a nutshell, as it where,

“He knows he has the backing of the vast majority of fans ,and that is a mighty thing.”
……….
He also knows that the vast majority of fans can’t see through him.
That is a problem.
Brendan chased Lawwells incompetent son,who was nowhere near qualified for the job,and that’s where we are,and yet again Desmond does nothing

You keep mentioning 17 titles in the last 22 years and you suggest you can’t quite understand why anyone would find fault with that or why they would want to change a Board that presided over those wins. Why do you then moan about Brendan Rodgers and want him out of the club when he has contributed 11 honours including 4 of those league titles. When he left first time round we were something like 9 points ahead with 8 games to go. He can take a lot of credit for that title win too.
Turkeybhoy @ 8:56 pm,
Yes, was in complete agreement, why I started on a negative, no idea…
Interesting mention of the Chairman though.

……..
Why can Brendan not speak in a straight line, like MON and his “Slow Lane” warning.
Why does Brendan say he is happy with recruitment, then at the 1st slip up, he distances himself from the recruitment of players who aren’t measuring up?!?!
Is Brendan what we all are supposed to think he is?
Are NDA’s providing cover for stuff that they shouldn’t be?
How will we know in a club that hasn’t known truth for 25 years?
And a supporter base that can’t ask a searching, serious, uncomfortable question, never mind answer one.
JO…
My feeling is there will be no NDA signed with any agreement this time.
Might be why Brendan is still here:))))
Hail Hail
Fairhillbhoy
Obviously missing something in your life to be showing such anger about things. Relax please all your nasty names are not big nor clever.
Chairboy….the only ‘Celtic fan’ in the world who wants Sevco to qualify for the Champions League.
I love reading your giddy posts when Celtic are having a wee problem.
Fairhillboy….mate, you jumped the shark when you tried to bully GFTB off the site…if I recall your comments contained…..”I’m loaded”….you’re a wee dik.
If you’re going to claim to be Celtic fans guys…..fekin act like it and stop giving hun lurkers a semi.

I agree 100%. He was really good first time around. Huge credit too him. Right manager at right time and delivered against a rangers with some bounce.
Less good in my view this time after inheriting a great team for me it has got worse and results similarly have got worse.
Re the 5 leagues lost 4 of those were when we were against an EBT cheating rival and 1 was Covid season.
It’s a fair question you ask though. Hopefully my answer makes sense to you.

……….
What makes you have a feeling there will be no NDA?
Are they all going to be 100% truthful, Management, staff, board?
Maybe we should get some NDA’s for the supporters groups who made it into a “Brendan is my security blanket” splodgenessabounds performance the other day.
chairbhoy not hairbhoy ha!
Oh no,it’s the ‘ you need help’ stage seriously embarrassing

Thanks for the response, much appreciated, first opportunty to respond.
Yup you are right no guarantees in football. Not like any other industry. Wissa and Delap, both out injured for Newcastle and Chelsea, cost £85 million between them. We sold a player who was fit, Adam Idah, because some felt he was not a good fit. With the right support and the tactics to suit I think he would have have got 25-30 goals for us this season. Him and Daezan got over fifty beween them last time out. Now dont get me wrong I think Brendan did well to manage us through the latter part of last season , nearly got another treble too, but he got his man, Paul Tisdale, on board, and yet spoke disparagingly of at least one signing, Inamura, saying he needed or might need to go out on loan. The Danish guy, Holberg, went to Ajax, and hasn’t done much since he was last there, didn’t show up against Glenn Hanley and Soapy Souter last week, and I doubt if he will repeat his early form in the Netherlands. And missing out on a winger? Who else? Name names.
We have 10 new players, and one old one, cant all be duds. Lets get the best out of them.
Resentment is a terrible thing, eats you from the inside.
Goodnight all
BURNLEY78, I genuinely try to avoid abuse or name calling on here. I don’t always succeed.
Why do you come across like a condescending prick most of the time? Do you have to demean other posters rather than debating with them?
Sorry for the abuse but imo you deserve it.
With reference to the murder of Brendan Rogers character:
think Peter Lawwell (Mr Green) did it In the Board Room with a rolled up copy of the 5WA.
His fingerprints were all over the latter in spite of denial.

How many times do I have to remind you? Celtic Football Club were not Party to the 5WA!
I wonder , if it comes down to it , who Dermot will choose between his favourite accountant and his favourite manager . The business or the football . I hope his room-reading is as good as his business acumen .
Burnley 78 @ 5:52pm; some good suggestions on a modernised footballing set up. Such would have a better chance of identifying and securing transfer targets timeously.
