Transfer window business is seldom completed in May, so anticipation based on Neil Lennon’s post-match comments about having bid £3m for a player should be tempered. We have a long close-season ahead, so I’ll avoid giving a name-check to the teenage midfielder Neil watched on international duty in February and who is being touted as a target today.
The most obvious question emerging from this story is why another central midfielder? Celtic have Wanyama, Ki, Brown, Ledley and Kayal all battling for places there, but it’s Kris Commons who is a rare entity. Kris is able to create goals at a rate none of the rest can. He’s also had a disappointing season, much of which was spent watching the action from the side-lines.
The problem for Celtic in central-mid is balance. When Kris Commons is injured, off-form, or playing in a wide position, we’re short of creativity in the middle. For the record, creativity doesn’t mean someone who can turn in a tight space or dribble, Charlie Mulgrew was our most creative player last season (as it now is). This strong area of the squad needs rebalanced.

Good evening friends. All feeling just champion?
Jabba can say what he likes but guess what, it doesn’t matter!
If Livingstone sue the SFA, Fergus McCann sues Murray, Celtic or prominent shareholders sue the huns or the SFA then Jabbas utterances have as much relevance as a cow fartin in a field!
As Lou Reed sang in ‘last great american whale’ “stick a fork in his ass and turn him over,he’s done”

BT – I’m swithering regarding San Fran; the last time it was there the guys at our club raved about it. Your dad is going to have a really great time. We have about 34 going from our club; apparently the big dinner night is on a boat out in the harbour with great entertainment. Still swithering:0)

So Green & Co, while pretending to go for CVA, are really thinking more along the lines of the Bill Miller plan – save the assets, liquidate the debt and start again.
Miller decided it wouldn’t work. Why does Green think it will?

Is that on La Rambla ?
Sell Ki, consistent under achiever in my opinion. He’s seldom taken an spl game by scruff of so fail to see how some expect him to do it in Europe. Of all our marketable players he’s the one I feel we won’t miss.
Wanyama, his future lies at the back for me, don’t think he’s suited to CM role, too often caught dithering, far better with game in front of him.
jobo
not particularly…. o))

yeah, that’s the one TK. both philvis (as i understand it) and i are ex-pupils hence i thought he would enjoy seeing the banner ;-)
reminded me of a ruse when several 6th form lads lifted a teacher’s car out of the car park and hid it elsewhere….
Just back on the blog. Someone posted a pic of a light aircraft flying over McDiarmid Park with a banner ‘ Give me an L’. It might have been sparklegirl. Later someone said it might have been photo-shopped. Can anyone confirm either way.
Been on my mind all day !!!
thanks

I posted it, I can’t confirm either way. Someone later uploaded another version with a second banner photoshopped in. I tried downloading and viewing enlarged. The 2nd one was clearly fake but the first one showed no signs of having been edited in.
But I can’t help thinking we’d have heard about it if it was real….
I could be wrong but didnt Gerry McCulloch used to present Celtic TV a few years back?????
Hail hail
Well watched the Scottish news on both channels and if I didnt know better it would seem that overnight Charles Green has saved Rangers.H.H.
Ibleed…..
He did indeed
He’s a ‘tic man

From what i’ve heard via MSM – Green is the saviour and job done …. be war chests next ?
Ewan Murray @mrewanmurray
Celtic £3m bid last week (as emerged yesterday) was for Artjoms Rudnevs, who joined Hamburg. Not Markus Henriksen.

Of course what he says and what he thinks may not be the same.
So the fighting fund has paid for a QC to defend Rangers at the appeal hearing on Wed??

Looks like we’re on the trail of a striker, tough competition against the Bundesliega..

What would they do without Gerry McCulloch. he’s bailing out these two numpty panellists at every turn. Ned Flanders is a bumbling fool with no idea of what’s going on and McColl hasn’t uttered a word for about 15 minutes.
Gerry McCulloch is not a rangers fan.

Thanks sparklegirl. Sounds as though it is a spoof pic. Pity, as its the sort of thing that that you dream of doing yourself. Running out of time to get a last dig in before they hit the deck.
celtfish, this is the obviously fake one ;)

I will be utterly disgusted if the punishment is reduced on Wednesday’s appeal. If it wasn’t Scotland the very real expectation following the publishing of the reasoning would be that there is a far greater chance of it being increased.

Correct mate. Its embarrasing, he’s actually said a few times a few times he’s ‘stealing their thunder.’ As you say it should read ‘bail then out..’ Keevins sounds as though he’s well and truly spat the dummy, can’t be bothered with the hassle discussing something that doesn’t focus on his banal take on things.
How do you make any money out of rangers to satisfy an investor?
More importantly, how do you make money out of rangers without European football to satisfy 20 investors!
Stupid huns…
Our midfield creativity lies in the hands of young Twrdzik, Ibahim and Paddy McCourt, and maybe McGeough.
Paddy is constantly criticised for not ‘turning it on when he gets the chance’.
What chance? 10 minutes from the bench now and then when the team’s struggling?
Give him ten starts in a row and then judge the guy.
For whatever faults you may think he has, I was converted by his central midfield performance in the Sammi Ibrox 2-0 January last year.
Chips down, Paddy running 90 mins, throwing himself into vital tackles in the Hun bog of a midfield.
Add this to his qualities, you’ve got an asset. An asset it would cost more than a million to replace, plus wages. No defence likes someone with his ability running at them fom centre mid; NO defence in the world.
It makes sense to keep him. It makes sense to give him the platform to prove his ultimate worth.
Ki has failed to concrete himself as the playmaker. But there’s a 50-50 divide (by my reckoning) among the support as to whether he is worth his reputation.
Nowadays, people talk in terms of specialised positions, players who can do a certain job well, though are encumbered by lacking in other areas.
Paddy McCourt, for all his presumed ‘faults’ is a proper footballer, more than comfortable with the ball at his dancing feet. There aren’t many of those around anymore. I wouldn’t rid ourselves of the few we have.
The striker signed for Hamburg on Friday, neil would have known that yesterday.
