Reconstruction in the time of near-universal insolvency

283

It fell to Elgin City chairman Graham Tatters to call out Hearts chairwoman, Ann Budge:

“We go and put the two teams who are bottom of the league in charge of the reconstruction talks.

“I just feel all of this is being done just to find a way to stop teams going down.

“We’ve lost out on the chance of promotion but when the resolution was put out to end
the season it was a no-brainer for us.

“I’ve got no problem with Neil Doncaster and the SPFL. They are
doing what they can and have been fantastic at getting
information to all the clubs. Someone had to make the decision – there was no point fannying about.”

Tatters moved on from not fannying about to the crux of football’s problem:

“People are scared to say it but we might not be playing until Christmas, or even until they have a vaccine.

“Forget about playing behind closed doors. We have a real problem here. Reconstruction talk is a bit of a joke – it’s a total red herring.”

It is impossible to decide how many teams should occupy each league on a temporary two-year basis (which Budge hopes will give her enough time to avoid relegation) if you do not know how many games it will be possible to play next season, what cash flow there will be in the game or how many professional clubs will remain in business.

If Motherwell and Kilmarnock cannot sell a match ticket until January, and then only for around a dozen home games, will they want the league’s commercial income distributed 14 ways instead of 12?

With so many clubs sitting precariously on the edge of insolvency, do you expect them to vote to reduce their share of the pie?  I think Ann Budge will meet resistance in her plans to reconstruct Scottish football on a temporary basis to allow Hearts to avoid relegation.

Reconstruction is in the wind, but will look different to what many imagine.  Pretty much all of the community clubs, occupying the bottom two leagues in the SPFL can cut their cash burn to near zero and survive, the same is true for some in the Championship, with Alloa  and Arbroath.

The vast majority of the rest will have to go into administration, make relatively high-earners redundant, in order to survive.  How else can Aberdeen get through a £1m per month cash burn?  There will be a Bonfire of the Vanities, from Edinburgh, to Aberdeen, Dundee and, of course, Govan.   The same is true across Europe, most particularly, in the English Championship.

There is an almighty reconstruction ahead, but I don’t think anyone can imagine what it will look like yet.  Dare we hope for the biggest change of all?  I’m not sure.

  1. I said the other week we got a £1500 worth of credit in B&M for our foodbank – must spend it over 2 weeks max. Went out this morning and managed to spend just over £1,100.

Not easy to spend that amount when you’re not buying alcohol ☹️. Anyway lots of canned food and general cleaning products and personal hygiene stuff. Normally the collection on Holy Thursday goes to the foodbank so it has come at the right time.

could I ask that you pray for the intercession of the saints with the passing of so many of our friends and family at this time and that they will offer their own prayers to Our Lord.

I’m going to be straight – me and family are comfortable at the moment, we have an income, we get out to tesco once a week and get to our own shop once a week, there are no symptoms in the family and untill this thing comes our way, we are ok!

    Canman and SFTB

I reckon I can address both together.

The problem I have is that I believe rightly or wrongly there is a much bigger agenda at stake here, for my sins I do believe that the “Virus” is a squirrel, I may well be 100% wrong, I honestly hope I am 100% wrong but it’s what I do believe, both of you know that for years I have always been a conspiratorial kinda bloke and from what I am seeing nothing has made me change that view.

I am open to ridicule but any that comes my way I expect it to be backed up with facts, independant facts, that seems fair to me.

OK, this pandemic, from the start there was computer models that predicted death on a massive scale, the one that the UK government and it’s looking like all western governments reactions were initially was based on what a Prof Neil Ferguson from The Imperial College in London produced, it has been reigned in a fair few times cos his original forecasts were so far off the scale and for that I can understand the msm’s mass hysteria, given that most of them are as thick as, but as things are turning out the figures are total bollix, so you would think that governments policies would have changed to suit, they haven’t, the lockdowns are still ongoing, the death tolls are nothing more than normal for the time of the year, so why are we where we are is the question.

According to the worldometer site there are at the time of typing …….

4.330 CV deaths and rising today

    Then we have these………..

28,465 and rising Communicable disease deaths today

2,153 and rising Deaths caused by malaria today

1,850 and rising Deaths caused by water related

    diseases today

24,582 People who died of hunger today, this will rise to over 30K by the end of the day

Now I ask myself where is the outcry over these things, there is none, hence why I believe this to be a massive squirrel, sorry if that bothers some folks but it’s what I believe.

I posted the other day that I have lost four friends in the past few weeks, all were recorded as CV deaths, none were, but in a roundabout way one was, he died of a heart attack due to the stress of being confined, the stress of no job, no money and no chance of paying his way and looking after his family, yet it’s been recorded as CV, just another stat.

Do a little bit of research into eugenics and those who advocate it, you will find that the likes of Bill Gates is at the forefront, chipping and vaccinating the population, no vaccines no crowds ever again, no work and no leaving your house unless you have the vaccination, that’s what he is telling the world, this is not me being paranoid, it’s what he is advocating, there are countless times he is on record saying this, then add in the destruction of the $ and all the other world currencies to herald in a one world digital currency, I understand that this all sounds crazy, but given the new laws that are getting rolled out on a daily basis in the US it’s maybes not that crazy after all, they are also restricting the food supply in the US big time, again this is all on record from the MSM, it’s not a con theory, it’s happening.

If it was OTT, why the mass censorship, why are they bringing in laws that make talking about things like 5G, vaccines and the like on social media an offence that can land you five years in the jail, if everything was A Ok, lets have a discussion about it then things will be made clear, but no, you just can’t talk about it without censorship.

Also please remember this is the bloke who predicted that there would be a pandemic like what is happening just now during the Trump administration, he is on record saying this and he can be seen telling this to the world, so again it’s not paranoia nor is it a con theory, it’s real.

Also during one of the US task force broadcasts we had Mike Pompeo telling us that we are in the middle of “a live exercise here”, a bit of a gaff me thinks but he did actually say it.

You talk about the relatively low number of deaths.

Surely you realise that this is only because of the unprecedented levels of shutdown, measures the world has never seen before. HH

  13. I’m not getting into any debate regarding the current situation but see if you’re referencing the number of deaths that are flu related each year and using it to play down the seriousness of this situation please remember that the number of cases and the number of deaths would it be significantly higher were it not for the widespread lockdown around the globe. Such lockdown restrictions are not put in place during a flu outbreak.
