Record correct, SFA prepare to disband Appellate Panel

1122

This morning’s article in the Daily Record is not a work of fiction.  They reported that SFA chief executive Stewart Regan’s “bid to deliver a broad consensus over the way forward also involved discussions over the appellate tribunal’s transfer embargo on Rangers.”

In short, the SFA discussed changing their rules to disband the Independent Appellate Panel process before instructing Lord Carloway to sit in response to the Court of Session’s rejection of his previous judgement.

With two further Independent Judicial Tribunals still to sit in judgement on the actions of Rangers, for the illegal registration of players and non-payment of social taxes during the EBT era, the SFA will also subvert these rules before ‘Rangers’ are expelled from the Association.

After the meeting Regan left for his summer vacation without instructing Lord Carloway to convene the Appellate Panel.

That’s not all.

The scam to establish an SLP 2 in order to allow the SFA and SPL to co-opt ‘Rangers’ into that league is what the governing bodies have planned for your game.

If rules are changed AFTER a club is found guilty and in receipt of a penalty in order to nullify that penalty the game in this country is broke, ethically and financially.  Having established independent judicial panels to deal with serious rule breaches the SFA cannot do Rangers bidding without removing all judicial oversight.

We’re back to the days of George Peat walking in and out of hearings for the Celtic manager.

Most disturbingly of all, YOU are the cash cow for this outrageous enterprise.  With Rangers gone from the SPL Celtic fans bring all the commercial and television income into the game, and are set to buy more away ground tickets than all other clubs put together.

You are expected to continue to cough up for tickets to Tynecastle, Rugby Park etc, and subscribe to ESPN and Sky Sports – money which will divvied up among SPL 1 and SPL 2 teams, as well as they rest of the Scottish Football League clubs, to compensate for them missing out on a ‘Rangers’ game.

You will also pay more money for those tickets than any other group of fans in the league.  Why don’t you just write a cheque to Kilmarnock, Falkirk or Cowdenbeath today?

This nonsense will not bring another £1 into the game, all it will do is redistribute money from your pocket to clubs who care nothing for you.  Partick Thistle yesterday released a statement on their site, “We believe Scottish football needs to be restructured, financial distribution needs to be fairer for all clubs”.

“Financial distribution needs to be fairer”!  Patrick Thistle get to keep all their ticket sales, commercial and other income.  By “fairer” they mean they want some of your money.  If you agree with them, write them a cheque, but if you disagree, you better figure out what to do next.

Thoughts that some great victory has been achieved are premature.   Prepare for the next instalment.

Our domestic competition is, at best, uninspiring.  This disgusting land-grab for your cash will destroy our ability to compete in Europe, and it’s not just the senior team who will suffer.  The Celtic youth system costs millions to operate each year, don’t fantasise that it will survive intact.

Celtic currently employ 27 Scotland youth internationals.  They are almost single-handedly carrying the future of our national team.  This attempt to bleed your club dry will devastate all areas, with subsequent consequences for the Scotland team.

It’s not often I’ve told you the Daily Record have nailed a story but this one is on the money (your money).  I’m at a loss as to what to do next.

We cannot accept this.

The Spainish never even broke a sweat tonight, they will do the Germans, who imo are a quality team, just not on the same planet as the Spanish….yet.

if it’s ten installments it will be over 10 months…doesn’t make sense any other way……finance company adds a few quid for their trouble Celtic get their money up front…they make their living on the interest

  7. The cunning plan is as follows:

Sevcon apply to SFL 3 and is accepted.

A line is drawn and no further investigations or sanctions on club formerly known as Rangers.

Celtic thrown out of SPL because it refuses to hand over money from TV etc.

Celtic apply to SFL3 and is accepted.

SKY contract for zillions signed with SFL3.

One authority is established for all Scottish football and is sponsored by Cooperative Funeral Society.

McCoist appointed Scotland manager and Neil Lennon is charged with receiving explosive goods.

Germany play football the way it should be played, that Spanish team are difficult to watch, also they are arrogant beyond belief.

Payments via zebra can be over ten months. I would imagine Celtic are effectively guarantors for all applicants. Likely to be accepted should u apply, I think? I did it a coupla years ago, worked out about £60 per month for £560 season ticket.

I disagree that the Spainsh are arrogant, they are bloody frustrating at times, but I don’t believe they are arrogant.

Del Bosce is using the Barca midfield in the main, they play that way, they win more than they lose, why would he change it ?

Too much of the EPL up and at them attitude, Spain play football the way football should be played, pass and move, let the other teams chase shadows.

The clue is in the name of the game, if punting long high balls were what the game was all about, they would call it head the ball, or hump the ball, or hun the ball :>)))

    Evening fholks!

I think the most important point in this is not that rangers are punished sufficiently, but that Celtic are not penalised further in the process. What makes this even more disgusting is that we have been potentially cheated out of millions of pounds (allegedly).

I want the defunct club punished and any club claiming to be their replacement to carry the burden on. Seems fair.

But how are Celtic going to be recompensed?

    Condign redress. Compensation.

If we can’t protect our income, then we can protect the power of a boycott, other wise they have insured themselves against that.

How do we ring fence our income?

  23. PFAyr – complicit? A league is an organisation of complicit competitors. And nobody, nobody, has been more complicit with Rangers than we over the past 124 years.

Settingfreethebears – still waiting for your civil answer: you seem unable to write without a personal attack and a sneer.

The argument about reciprocity would carry weight if the two sides were comparable in size and support. The point I am making is that, as we currently stand, much, much more than half of the income of the SPL is coming into one club. This is obviously, I mean obviously, wrong and unsustainable. This is implicitly conceded in the justification based on the need to compete against wealthy clubs in Europe.

Hanging over all this discussion is the fallout from the disastrous, insulting, and so, of course, popular campaign to leave the SPL. Europe is not our prime concern: we are a Scottish club, now theScottish club, and without a healthy Scottish league to operate in we are doomed.

The syndrome that is operating on this blog every time the case for redistribution is put forward is called “monstering”. It exactly parallels the reaction of the hundreds of Rangers supporters over the years to the people pointing out that their club was operating in an unsustainable manner.

I say as clearly as I can – this club will not survive in the operating environment that faces us now. All the ad hominem, insolent and aggressive responses in the world do not change that. We need a competitive, balanced domestic league.

  24. Bookies Pen for a Button on a Blazer

As yet the huns have not been punished for anything.

They got a transfer ban, they went to court and got the ban overturned.

They have cheated scottish football for decades, and still they clamour to accomodate them, the whole thing stinks.

Their 10 point deduction was for going into admin, their fault, nothing to do with any other club, them going into the blender, their fault, same as, and yet they still bleat about being punished, punished by whom ????

    Resign Celtic.

the game in scotland has been rigged for years, the sfa/spl steps to protect the ‘establishment’ club are no surprise. the thing is, nothing can protect them from themselves! they have passed the point of no return, the event horizon. in order to get back to cardi-post- dick, someone will need to invest £50M and then spend £30M pa with no return. they are past the u-bend.

if the court of session is to be ignored, good luck with that!
