Relieved to get last night’s game out of the way. Ross County limited us to few chances. The opening goal was a shot which Erik Sviatchenko didn’t connect cleanly with, a defender tried to block but failed to make contact, only succeeding in blocking his keeper’s view, before the ball found the corner of the goal.
When the added two minutes at the end of the first half were announced, County visibly pulled tighter, waiting on the break. That was a mistake. In the most composed moment of the game, Stuart Armstrong twisted this way, then that, before carving an opening he took with aplomb.
We now have two days to recuperate ahead of the final game before the midseason break; our ninth game of what will be an exhausting month. We’ll talk more about this game tomorrow, it will be far from easy, so please don’t be misled by the 5-1 win over Newco earlier in the season. They are shambles of a football team, but this is a different challenge.

Walfrid’s Wish
Our Foundation’s big project for 2017, Walfrid’s Wish, launched last night. It’s an opportunity for each of us to join the Foundation in a formal capacity – to be one of its Champions.
I think this is a key strategy for the future of Celtic. We’ve done so much in recent years to bring our founding sentiment back to the forefront of the club. The challenge remains to push the boundaries further, and to keep them there.
To achieve this, for years and decades to come, we need to organise. We need to keep telling ourselves what Celtic is all about, to encourage each other share and live our common values, and – hopefully – make participation in the Foundation an everyday part of being a Celtic supporter for 100% of our community.
On its simplest level, Walfrid’s Wish is a membership scheme. You become a member of the Foundation Champions community. It’ll cost you £3 per month.
I suspect we’re 40% of the way along the road of where we could be as a community, much of that progress has been achieved within the last five years, but we need innovative ways to spread the message. This has an excellent chance of reinvigorating the sentiment that those who gathered in St Mary’s church hall all those years ago.

I hope you’re well sir. Regarding your earlier post about the Club1872 meeting with the polis and their subsequent statement. I do hope those in the Broomloan Stand on Saturday box clever. I believe that the decision to play this particular game at 12:30pm on Hogmanay is a recipe for carnage, however, it has been taken jointly by the Scottish government and the hierarchy of Police Scotland. Their wish is that the number of arrests will justify further funding. That’s the terribly sad reality.

There was an earlier post referring to this meeting of Orcs suppprters and the police. The suggestion was that they were agreeing the songbook for Saturday. I , for one do not believe that the police will be agreeing what can be sung in sole consultation with Rangers supporters. Secondly , I agree with you that there will be strict policing. A song as the rules are enforced without prejudice, fair enough .
I also hope our supporters are cute enough to know this, I am hopeful rather than confident of this.

Dangerous stuff from so called ” fan” leaders
St Stiv’s, thank you, kind words.
I can’t say it’s easy, but I have spent a lot of time with family this last week or so, and it has been a real comfort, we have actually had good times.
On Saturday we will have a wake for him after the mass and cemetery, and I know after the tears there will be laughter. His was a life to be celebrated after being well lived.
He leaves a lot of great memories for a great many people. I think I could write a book!
One of my aunts, Mum’s younger sister, just called and we reminisced about how my Dad used to take her to Celtic Park and lift her over the turnstiles, he did the same with my brother and I, he introduced more than just his children to Celtic. She said that those on the bus were like a family, they looked out for each other, they still do. I sent my 15 year old daughter to games on the bus, happy and certain she would be looked after.

At the millennium my wife lost her old granny. Boxing day.
She was laid to rest on hogmanay 1999.
Its a sore memory every year . maybe the only one, every other memory is less.

Have I missed something or do supporters groups regularly talk to the authorities about their policing strategy?
Anyway, reading between the lines for me the Sevco supporter is saying , we know we are getting pumped but we are doing all we can to spoil your party.
