Referees: we can only shine a light

I doubt very much if there was a conspiracy between referees in Scottish football over the weekend, that does not happen.  They cross the white line making their own decisions.

Whether they are just terrible, compromised, or perform well in difficult conditions, is not the consequence of some grand plan.  In my view, they are not good enough to do the tasks required and on Sunday inhibited Celtic’s chances of winning the title.

They will close ranks this week, they always do. All we can do is continue to shine a light.

Fair enough, I haven’t seen that much of him and was surprised at the vociferous support from the young team.

As I said happy to be wrong and the boy turns out to be a player but for now I have to be convinced. So far I don’t think either Jota or Abada replace Jamesy.

  2. lionroars67 on 6th October 2021 7:52 am

I agree. It’s dreadful watching/listening to the easy ride the fat tory mess gets from the UK press.

Last night they dedicated a section of the news to his wifes appearance at the conference!!

  3. LIONROARS67 AKA Timmy7 on 6TH OCTOBER 2021 8:07 AM

Terrible evil person but what’s it got to do with Celtic?

  4. This tory conference really makes you proud to be part of the Union, doesn’t it?

Particularly with labour as ineffective as they are, an opposition that spends most of its time trying not to upset tory voters in the vain hope that some of them may actually see through Bojo and change their mind, pathetic.

‘This tory conference really makes you proud to be part of the Union, doesn’t it?’

Not sure what you’re on about.

There are plenty of Tories in Scotland.

Didn’t Salmond’s first administration at Holyrood rely on Tory support to stay in power?

And the Nats are quite happy to vote with the Tories when it suits them.

The truth is that the Nats will always prefer a Tory Government to a Labour Government.

So save us the fake outrage.

  8. Multi moniker gets un-nerved when called out shocker.

Post about bad tories, attempt tenuous link to Labour(who are strongly opposed to the cuts and universal credit in it’s entirety ) conclude Indy must happen as a result.

    Great logic!

  9. Tom McLaughlin on

I know someone who played for Celtic Boys Club and was subsequently scouted and signed by Celtic FC on an S-Form. This meant that he continued to play for CBC until he reached 16, by which date CFC had to offer him a professional contract, or release him.

During his time on the S-Form, he was the only CBC player attached to CFC and he trained at Barrowfield 2 nights a week with other S-Forms from various youth teams. In fact 2 of his CBC team mates were S-Form signings with other Scottish clubs.

The boy was not offered a professional contract at 16 and was told he was being released. He continued to play for CBC until he was 18 when he joined a Junior team.

From legal and contractual standpoints, Celtic FC and Celtic Boys Club are definitely separate entities. The lawyers know this and are trying to publicly shame Celtic into financial payouts.

For the record we are a club founded by migrants not immigrants.

Moving from a farming hamlet in rural Ireland to a miner’s row in urban / industrial Scotland in the 19th century was not immigration it was labour migration.

    Boston = Immigration.

    Glasgow = Migration.

  11. Let’s keep talking about the cheatin’…………………..

Draw the light into the cheatin’….and talk about the refs and those that employ them.

In scoddland, cheatin’ takes many forms, especially where us and ours are concerned.

  12. Clicking on one of the links re the 20 pounds Universal Credit cut ( I think) I saw a clip of a Tory MP /Councillor saying that families should consider how many children they have ie can afford.

Is that not a fair enough comment?

  13. BANKIEBHOY1 on 6TH OCTOBER 2021 9:12 AM

Whilst I agree with the general sentiment, I feel a massive change in the social mores of Scotland would need to happen before light shining would have any effect.

  14. A wee massage for Mr AJETI….Ramon Vega is RIGHT about you and your lack of talent… Ramon gave us Celtic supporters MORE Enjoyment/Effort and showed more talent in his brief spell with us, than You can ever hope to achieve, no matter how long you are at Celtic…

Mr Ajeti…feel free to prove ME and others wrong…….

  15. PrPa is a just a bitter / twisted / sour individual who is happy to play the villain and more for the gallery of grotesques who take pride in voting Tory so that the poor / the sick / the under employed are hurt for their enjoyment.

The current asylum charade is just big nation power politics being played out using human cannon-fodder but without the guns.

Brexit for too many was all about immigration and duty free booze.

Easiest way for others to discredit BoJo and his booster club is to launch the boats.

Games being played and they know they are in a weak position.

Unleash the beast — or failing that get a cheap / low rent political caricature to throw raw meat to the gallery. PrPa is just the useless idiot they need — the lack of self awareness is just an extra to make it hurt all the more for anyone with a heart and a conscience.

Back to Old Monkey Glands — he wants the UK to be more like Aus.

BoJo is just this year’s puppet to do the needful.

They just poke him with sticks so that he stumbles in the right direction.

    BoJo = the Torygraph candidate.

MG = the NI / Times candidate.

That is why they poke BoJo.

  16. Hot Smoked…………….

It is a general sentiment. A change has to start somewhere. As expressed previously it is reasonable for Celtic and Celtica to discuss the subject – especially when we win. The arrogance of our officials and the willful ignorance of our media needs addressing within reasonable parameters.

The game of football is a huge positive. One Klub and one mindset has held it back for long.

I believe in an enlightened Scotland.

    Keep The Faith.

  17. HOT SMOKED on 6TH OCTOBER 2021 9:13 AM

    In some instances, yes.

But some people’s circumstances can change after having children – redundancy, divorce etc…

The Tories also told us that £141,000 wasn’t enough to live on so not sure what I should believe….

  18. HS @ 9.13

Step away from the FB facts / links.

The poor could always eat their children if it all gets too much.

Was seemingly all the rage in 17th / 18th century England regarding poverty in Ireland.

ShamCam = Tory dog boiler / things are a bit tight then eat the family pet.

BoJo = Tory children consumer / times are tough so just eat the smallest.

Things are not improving just a case that the Tories now lead with more conviction.

What was once beyond the pale — KJ’s fall from grace in 73/74 — is now seem a common sense on a CFC website.

This is what happens when people become to lazy to remember as they get older.

    Good point.

The same would apply when buying a house but I don`t suppose that Tory guy I referred would be telling people not to buy their own homes !

” is now seem a common sense on a CFC website.”

What , in particular, is seen as common sense on here?

  21. HS / GB78 @ the edge of reason

Stop being sucked into the Tory vortex of blaming the poor for being poor.

Nobody is perfect just a case that some have more wiggle room than others.

BoJo is an erse of some repute.

He is a bigger waster / low rent sha*g*r than LG.

Just a case he impregnates burds from rich families.

He talks about his abhorrence of violence against women but cannot bring himself to criticise his father for breaking his — recently deceased — mother’s nose / jaw.

He / they are frauds without equal.

  22. HS @

Please re-read the comment you made at 9.13.

If that comment is complete and you haven’t missed anything out then it is a comment / viewpoint that supports the viewpoint that the poor need to have fewer children — that the number of children is the reason why they are poor.

You describe that as a “fair enough comment”.

I say that is wrong and you need to remember your — social — history.

If your are calling out lionsroar67 and Timmy7noted

    as the same are wrong.

Also your ‘whats it got to do with Celtic’ query

I wish everything in the planet was not interrelated

Alas they are.and always will be.

You could also ask at the Celtic foundation about ‘what its got to do with Celtic? They support a number of charities helping our excluded and poor.

If only the world was not interconnected eh

  26. TOM MCLAUGHLIN on 6TH OCTOBER 2021 9:09 AM

‘From legal and contractual standpoints, Celtic FC and Celtic Boys Club are definitely separate entities.’

It’s not as simple as that.

I suspect they’ll run two arguments 1. the boys club was part of Celtic FC and Celtic FC are therefore liable, and alternatively 2. if they are two separate entities nonetheless Celtic FC owed a duty of care to the kids who were abused, failed in that duty of care as a result of which failure the abuse took place and are therefore liable.

The direction of travel for the courts in cases like this is to side with claimants in so far as the law allows.

There is no good outcome for Celtic in any of this.

  27. TIMMY7_NOTED on 6TH OCTOBER 2021 9:44 AM

Your wee story. Could of just said “you don’t Jota” 3 words. It was a token from you as you were about to get on the real reason you post here- Indy.

I post regularly about Celtic quite comfortable on my Celticness. I also never bring up politics, but occassionally respond to the campaigning on here and actually have argued against some on both sides, particuarly about the frequency of poltical posts, their repetitive arguments, but mostly because of the p@#$ poor content.

  28. MADMITCH on 6TH OCTOBER 2021 9:49 AM
