Referees: we can only shine a light

415

I doubt very much if there was a conspiracy between referees in Scottish football over the weekend, that does not happen.  They cross the white line making their own decisions.

Whether they are just terrible, compromised, or perform well in difficult conditions, is not the consequence of some grand plan.  In my view, they are not good enough to do the tasks required and on Sunday inhibited Celtic’s chances of winning the title.

They will close ranks this week, they always do. All we can do is continue to shine a light.

Re Ajeti . Even allowing for the fact that some players take longer to settle in than others , I have seen nothing to convince me that Ajeti was worth the money .

Wee Kyogo , apart from a 10 minute cameo v Hearts (when he was just off a plane from Japan) showed us early on that he was going to be a star . Kyogo has all the attributes Ange needs for his brand of football but Ajeti has none of them . I’d be gobsmacked if he gets on the park for the Swiss team .

Clicking on one of the links re the 20 pounds Universal Credit cut ( I think) I saw a clip of a Tory MP /Councillor saying that families should consider how many children they have ie can afford.

Is that not a fair enough comment?

I have re-read my comment and don`t see anything wrong with my general premise that being able to look after one`s children is vitally important.

The two comments are not the same and you know damn fine they’re not.

You mentioned the comments by the Tory MP — we only should have children that they can afford.

    Your response — and I quote …

“Is that not a fair enough comment?”

Seems like you are into the Tory vibe and are just looking for confirmation.

Base point — the Tory was talking Drymen bar room *hite.

    And you agreed with him.

The world is a complex place.

Re Patel’s patois…I recognise that Stop The Boats ‘soundbite’ as straight from the Australian Liberal’s campaign deck from circa 2014, where one Tony Abbott Esq played it as a winning dog-whistle election card ‘ere dannunda’.

Has he being taking tiffin with Tories and offering message management as a side hustle to his trade gig??

I’m campaigning for some Celtic football talk but in international week, guess I’d have slim pickings in here.

I don’t want involved in the politics of it all, as someone, once posted on here, has anyone ever changed their minds, after reading the political posts, on here.

I just wanted you to know, that Timmy and TLR are not the same poster.

Thanks for the confirmation I was beginning to get confused myself :)

Its a standard technique on here these days to accuse anyone you disagree with of being a “multi moniker” in the hope that it devalues the message, reality is that most of those making the accusations have no way of determining whether multi monikers actually exist. I’ve asked in the past for evidence and unsurprisingly never got a response, it’s childish.

  11. Not Celtic related and an old once, but here goes…..

A man is walking down his street and comes to a house with a sign outside which reads, ‘talking greyhound for sale’. Intrigued he calls at the front door, the door is opened and he asks the man,

‘do you have a talking greyhound for sale?’

    The man replies,

‘ I have yes, he’s out in the back garden if you want to have a look’.

Intrigued even more the man goes around to the back of the house and there in the garden is a greyhound. He walks up to the greyhound and asks,

‘Is it true that you can talk?’ The dog replies,

‘Yes’. Taken aback for a while, the man composes himself and asks him a question.

‘you’re a talking dog, tell me about yourself’. The dog replies,

‘well, once I discovered my gift I was quickly taken to a secret location and trained in espionage. The government decided that I could be useful in eavesdropping on in conversations and then reporting back on what was said. I did this for many years and travelled all of the world as the government ‘mascot’ little did the others know of my incredible gift. After receiving many honours, I retired, had a few puppies and so here I am.’

‘wow incredible!’ the man replied. He then walked back to the front of the house, knocked the door and asked,

‘I’m amazed at the life this dog has lived and his service to the country, how much for him?’

‘€10’ the man replied, astounded at such a cheap asking price, the man replied’

    ‘€10 , why so cheap?!’

‘He’s a bloody liar, he’s never left that back garden!’

    Have a good day all!

  12. Is it just a coincidence that it’s very quiet on here during the fat liars conference address?

Or have you all been invited to Bankiers for a celebratory lunch?

  13. Anti-immigration always plays well will the indigenous population ‘come over here , stealing our jobs’

Irish in Scotland, Chinese in US, Indians in Kenya, Filipinos in Hong Kong, Eastern Europeans across UK etc

The ‘divide and conquer’ tactics by the employers works a treat every time.

    1. offer desperate people low wages if they stay out of a union/guild

    2. union/guild members are angry but have just lost bargaining power

    3. blame the immigrants

PS technically the Irish who moved to Scotland in the mid 19th century were not immigrants, they were itinerant workers with the same state

I can’t stand anything about Patel but there is a legitimate debate in the West on how to deal with the issue. The Dublin protocol says that immigrants stay in the country where they land but this is clearly unfair on Italy, Greece, Spain. Language and family already in UK drives people to come to the UK , plus the thriving and encouraged illegal working economy (same as Mexico and US).

within the EU there should be a grown up protocol on distributing migrants based on quotas and their personal situation – no need for boats.

With the UK outside of the EU, I can’t see the UK buying into this, hence a hard stance now will make the EU look more inviting going forwards. For the Tories; job done and the working class continue to vote for them

  23. The Social Security and Benefits system was designed as a safety-net for those in the population that genuinely couldn’t find work, or were unable to work due to some mental, or, physical impairment.

The Labour Party was the pile-driver that, when in power, incrementally installed almost all the pillars that even today support a system designed to support the needy in our society.

Universal Credit together with sickness benefit, state pension and all other benefits should be fit for purpose and as generous as we can make them. As a nation, we should be prepared to contribute more through our taxes to achieve this, in addition to increasing funding of the NHS.

There is a problem however that haunts the benefit system, no matter which colour of government is in power. That problem is that for some, living on benefit although being fit to work to support themselves, has become a lifestyle choice. It doesn’t take a genius to see that if this could be eradicated there would be more money available for those who actually need it.

As far as children are concerned – we all have to make the choice as to the size of our families. The number of children a family has is a fundemental choice and is driven by many factors, the main one being affordability. Supporting children during their formative years, feeding & clothing, ensuring a big enough house to live in and catering for all their needs and wants, takes money. Those who are able to work for a living always have to balance family size with family income – it is a defining decision – there is no other way. Why then should those who, although work may be available, make the decision to permanently live on benefit, be any different?
