There was plenty to fret about in the first half. Celtic’s passing was hesitant and unable to prize a solid Motherwell shape open. It wasn’t until Yang competed for a loose ball which never should have been his in stoppage time before the break, that the game changed. Motherwell keeper, Oxborough, tried to make the ball his, but only succeeded in clattering into Yang. Arne Engels scored with the resultant penalty kick.
Nothing worked for Daizen Maeda in the first period, but when Liam Scales got a near-post flick on a corner early in the second, Daizen was all alone to head into the empty net.
A refreshed-looking Reo Hatate came on just after the hour, along with Kyogo and Nicolas Kuhn. All three improved Celtic, as the game decisively slipped away from Motherwell. Kuhn, on his return from injury, and Hatate, scored late on to emphasis Celtic’s strength in depth.
With the two teams below them both losing, Celtic’s lead at the top of the table stretched to 12 points. The title race is certainly not over after only 17 games, but this Celtic team have a formidable look about them.

Really rubbish to see so many empty seats yesterday.
—-———————————————
Does not explain all the empty seats but bhoys from Ireland were by and large not there as no ferries from Belfast or Larne
AN TEARMANN from earlier
Beautiful! What a lovely wee boy!
Mrs was in tears too!
Well done Liverpool!
And God bless wee Isaac and his family!
It was the day after Christmas.
My family is much more important than Celtic.
Much more.

I was NEVER at a game on Christmas Day even when single, my mother very active in the Women’s Guild just widnae have it, and no chance when I had my own 2 wee weans and the only game I ever saw on Boxing Day was my one and only Christmas back hame a 2-2 draw with the sheep and thats only because mrs tt’s da was at it tae
because there wasnt a huge crowd yesterday it meant i could hear every single conversation in the whole stadium.
and absolutely everyone to a man (and woman) were all going on about how unimportant their families were to them 😉

I guess the last time I was at a Boxing day game was the 70’s perhaps early 80’s, when single.
Gave my ticket to the bus, since it’s in the standing area, sure they had a hoot 😁
Big Jimmy from previous thread, thank you.
Currently out for and Indian meal, I am sure you know a joke about an Indian whether its red or not.
D. :)
The rain is pouring down outside my house but there is more water running down my face after watching little Isaac. Good job parents, Liverpool fc.
Sean
Ffs don’t encourage him. 🙄

Agree with all you say – we are hearing positive noises from Brendan about strengthening from strength next month. I’m confident we will – however the top-side of the menu you present should also trigger another adage – “speculate to accumulate’.
We’ll show a big profit in the July-December interims, with probably c100m bank balance. Together in the January and Summer Windows we have the opportunity, not only to progress in this year’CL, but to make sure, as far as is possible, that we get through qualifying for the next.
We have ‘the ball at our feet’, let’s use it to progress in Europe and increase the yawning gap domestically. HH
it is not a boast, but it was a fact.
in my granny and grandas holiday times, getting to the match, xmas day, boxing day and in particular new years day saw the entire male poplation older than 11 going to the games, en masse.
it was a tradition, and a right of passage,
it was expected, all my uncles and their brothers in law went together, often individuals who hadbnot attended all season.
a different world and a different time, but the women wanted the men and any weans gone to the game.
that changed some with the ibrox disaster.
its just me, but i dont understand people having tickets and not attending, i get there will be reasons, weather , ferries, etc etc, and circumstances beyond control, but the non attendnace yesterday was shockingly bad, dont get me started on the halftime exodus or the stream from 20 minutes to go.
dont get me started on weddings and holidays during the season, seriously.
and anither thing.
the ne-er day game, very often the highest attendance for all the teams during a season and many a record broken.
my inlaws are here tonight, i wish i was at a game.
Stivs
🤣🤣
SS – 🤣 my in laws are coming on Monday and I wish ……they weren’t..😜

“the stream from 20 minutes to go.”
From my view around 110 the mass exodus is the 80th minute, add extra time , these bhoys are missing about 15 minutes at least. However as one bhoy explained to me, it’s the new cycle lanes on London Rd that causes delays.
i dont mind them tbh, all their weans apart from 3 are celtic supporters, and taken to the games as a kid by me.
but if there was a match on and i had a ticket i wouldnt stay in for them.
i am adding cycle lanes to the excuses for leaving early list.
hatate scored on the 81st minute, honestly by tha point the ground was only half full.
if i was in brendans shoes i really would ask questions – can you not give us your full support for the gaame ?
SS
Yip 👍 that’s what this bhoy said😅🤣😂
aye, we are in agreement.
If I was in Brendans shoes I would order a bottle of Bollinger, curry from the Anarkali and a troupe of scantily clad dancing girls. To hell with poverty and the working class. 😉

brendans slippery shoes.
I hope my last comment is taken as a joke. Ya dumplings. 😂

Love a bit of hun eating hun:
“In an Ibrox Noise poll, 91% of Rangers fans asked want to see the Scotland goalkeeper given his shot between the sticks, and only 9% would stick with Butland.”
Scottish keeper is Liam Kelly btw 🙃 anyway cheerio for now (TM) Hot Smoked!

Boxing day football is a tradition. But lifestyles have changed. Life expectations are different from years ago.
Many fans want to spend time and socialise with friends and family. Especially ones they have not seen for some time.
To many watching the game in the pub or at home with great festive cheer was the more preferable option.
Two conclusions can be deduced;-
The paying public have sent out a message about playing on boxing day. The empty seats speak for themselves
Anyone who really wanted a ticket could have obtained one. There were loads of spares. Our ground needs modernised but tje capacity does not need increased.

Your absence from meeting on 20th December has been noted. You are summoned to a disciplinary meeting in January.
BRRB.
I do apologise. I had an unforseen engagment i could not escape.
However I stand duely chastised
If I am home, I will be pleased to attend your disciplinary meeting in January.
Cheers and HH.

Yes, of course, and if I may add, the legacy of Covid has bitten deep into society. In my opinion there are no absolutes anymore. The restrictions placed on family life, especially interaction with the elderly and infirm, will take a long time to get over.
Full football stadia at Christmas and New Year are now a thing of the past because as you say, lifestyles and expectations have changed. HH
catching up with felip fillops comment.
never saw it coming. great management.

the english grounds were packed, full to capaciy occupied.
buying a season book and not attending is a very evidenced celtic thing.
