Refreshed looking Hatate back in control

241

There was plenty to fret about in the first half.  Celtic’s passing was hesitant and unable to prize a solid Motherwell shape open.  It wasn’t until Yang competed for a loose ball which never should have been his in stoppage time before the break, that the game changed.  Motherwell keeper, Oxborough, tried to make the ball his, but only succeeded in clattering into Yang.  Arne Engels scored with the resultant penalty kick.

Nothing worked for Daizen Maeda in the first period, but when Liam Scales got a near-post flick on a corner early in the second, Daizen was all alone to head into the empty net.

A refreshed-looking Reo Hatate came on just after the hour, along with Kyogo and Nicolas Kuhn.  All three improved Celtic, as the game decisively slipped away from Motherwell.  Kuhn, on his return from injury, and Hatate, scored late on to emphasis Celtic’s strength in depth.

With the two teams below them both losing, Celtic’s lead at the top of the table stretched to 12 points.  The title race is certainly not over after only 17 games, but this Celtic team have a formidable look about them.

  3. compare and contrast – liverpool fans turn up, sell out the stadium, and are still there at then end.

can you see any empties at anfield ? one or two, but at celtic park it is thousands with excuses,

you missed out “we aren’t playing rangers”

  6. Ststiv s perhaps you could add illness to your list. I for one was not able to attend due to having illness. This was my valid reason for non attendance ,

    —————-

illness of yourself and others is the mot genuine reason for non attendnace, been there, terrible time.

hope you are on the mend.

  8. The Ticket Exchange idea has been on here for a while, and other clubs can do it no bother, is ideal on dates like yesterday and Sunday, why can’t we do it? A win- win for all.

friday 27th is not really a good comparison to make with boxing day…

my auldman would sometimes rather watch the game in the hoose, or even listen to the radio cos he gets fed up with the attitude of fellow tims….

anyhow, with so many cup games, semis, finals, league winning games, away trips, euro trips – do you know any fans who invest so much money on watching and celebrating ?

liverpool are know in liverpool as the tourists team….

“A surprise exclusion from this list to some, especially given their stadium capacity of over 61,000, is Liverpool, who only allocate 27,000 of those seats to season ticket holders”

again, not really a fair comparison on the attitudes, behaviour and demograhics of the fan base.

‘dont get me started on weddings and holidays during the season, seriously.‘

You’re an arrogant prick. Who the hell appointed you to a position of authority over fans attending games at Celtic Park!

Big Jimmy from previous thread, thank you.

    ……………

I know at least TWO Jokes about Red Indians……..I told the Shipwreck Crew the LONG Joke at the last CQN Bevvy session….but here is the SHORT Red Indian Joke which I have told previously on here….

” What do you call a Red Indian VIRGIN” ?

    ” CHEYENNE” !

    Get it ?…

  12. On holiday games.SS memories sparked mine last night.Whole family lived in Govan. All would be in my Das sisters for Hogmanay. All met up again on NYD,to go to the Hun game.Sisters, brothers, and me.Loved it.Walked it up to Ibrox, and the bus or tram, might have been Trolleybus,to Celtic Park, for the game.Around 12 of us.A highlight of the year for me.One of the games was the 5-1 game.

  13. Big Jimmy,

Might have not been a shy Red Indian Virgin.

Might have been a boy named Sioux !!!!!!!

  14. 5-1 game is one of the few 1st team games I was in the Celtic end. I grew up on the wall at the back of the Hayshed. My Dad always stood in the middle of the Hayshed (as he always called it, although he spent some of the war in the Jungle in Malaya), because of his eyesight. Stood in much the same place with Cathac’s brother for many a year. After reconstruction we eventually got tickets for the North Stand, which we still have.

As a wee boy, I used to go to the Reserve games (usually on a Friday evening) and used to walk around the ground, depending on what end Celtic were attacking.

  15. Traffic is a huge problem after a game at Celtic Park, and that’s why a lot of fans leave early ,plus them bycicle lanes on the London Rd don’t help either,

  16. ASSUMING BOTH Celtic and the Huns win this weekend ( On Sunday) come JAN 2nd when Celtic play the Huns at Ipox……….IF that game ends in a DRAW….CLEMENT and his ugly squad would be well advised NOT to do a Lap of Honour and claim some sort of ” Moral Victory” like he did in the 3 – 3 Draw last season, as I think the Hun Fans will show their displeasure IF him and his mob tried that again ?

Then again, what the Hell do I care ?

    LOL.

My MAIN concern for this game on JAN 2nd is the SAFETY of the Celtic players and staff. I hope that I am wrong in being concerned.

    HH.

  17. Guys,

Lots of tickets on Celtic Spares for Sunday. ( Twittering X or the Facing Book.)

    “2 spare tickets

for st Johnstone game on Sunday”

Celtic need you, take that empty seat.

Twinkle Twinkle little star lead me out the nearest bar.

    Tosb

Were you there on boxing day ? You turning up on Sunday ?

    …………………..

As a matter of fact I was. I drove my two mates to the game. We’ll be there again on Sunday too. This time by train. I haven’t missed a game this season. Even got a ticket to the recent League Cup final on the morning of the game ……… BUT …….. I understand some fans will not get to a game for their own reasons ……….. AND ………. those reasons are absolutely none of my business.

  19. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Looking forward to tomorrow already.

Genuine question : these ticket resale schemes in operation elsewhere.

How much would a ticket cost?

(As a percentage of face value)

BTW – the Isaac video, thank you the CQNer who posted it.

    Watched it three times now.

    What football should be about.
