REGAN GETS UEFA ROLE ON DAY WHYTE CLEARED AND JOHNSTON APPOINTED SEVCO CHAIRMAN

ON the day Craig Whyte was cleared of all charges at the highest criminal court in the land and Alastair Johnston was appointed as Chairman at Sevco Rangers, the SFA have announced that their Chief Executive Stewart Regan has been appointed to the Board of Administration of UEFA Club Competitions SA (UCC).

A new subsidiary company of UEFA, UCC’s role is to advise and make recommendations to UEFA Club Competitions’ Committee on strategic business matters and opportunities for its consideration before being referred up to the UEFA Executive Committee for approval.

The announcement was made to the members of the Scottish FA at its Annual General Meeting this morning.

“I am pleased to have been given the chance to represent UEFA on this new board, which will deal with the business affairs of UEFA’s competitions, including the Champions League and the Europa League,” Regan said.

The UCC does not deal with sporting matters, but looks at a wide range of business matters within UEFA, so my appointment to the Board of Administration will allow Scottish Football to have a strong voice on vitally important business issues.
