Regan on SFA acting without fear

944

“The Scottish FA has a responsibility to all its members and must implement its rules without fear or favour”.  Stewart Regan, SFA chief executive, 24 April 2012.

What chance the SFA will be able to act without fear now?  I don’t imply they will act without favour, but do you believe SFA panellists can act without fear?  Anyone who participates in Rangers appeal process and upholds their punishment will act despite fear.

This process, one of the most important the SFA has dealt with in years, has been subverted, and that calls for a far greater sanction that any already imposed.

Brilliant. Won’t get down till tomorrow evening, but will be out all day on Saturday. Great atmosphere – just need to find a pub for the game on Sunday.

I don’t know Ferguson. But I do remember one particular feature of his repertoire – straight from kick-off he would go in late, hardand nasty on Paul McStay’s ankle. He was never booked.

  4. The point is though, the current politicians of our time believe greed to be good in just about every example, we justify bankers bonuses and their ridiculous pension plans, we then justify screwing ordinary people of their pensions, we go to war for oil, to showcase our homemade aircraft carriers and fighter planes etc…

If a business fails under today’s laws, then under today’s laws, the business must fail, it’s what our votes condone after all

If our politicians believe Rangers being liquidated is wrong, then its also wrong to liquidate coal mines, steel works, NHS hospital beds and complete towns for the sake of profit.

Heard some Scottish journo on Talksport saying the SPL enquiry in the Huns is due on Monday. Can anyone confirm?

  6. jobo – there are a few ‘celtic minded’ bars in castle street area – a 5 minute walk from bus station.

cosgroves, the hercules – alright for fitba. tell her to watch the colours if she doesn’t know the city.

If she gets a taxi the Falls is full of Celtic bars. Some better than others in my opinion – the taxi men could probably advise if they are of the right persuasion.

Long time from I watched a Glasgow derby in a Belfast pub but it used to be great craic in the right company!

I would know the city fairly well but don’t live there. Some of our belfast ones might know better than me.

They might tell you the names of taxi firms to use as well.

Agreed. But I fail to understand the respect shown to Speirs by some. He is nothing more and nothing less than a hun apolgist. If he was half as clever as he thinks he is he would be moderately dangerous.

Barcabhoy neglected to mention the possible collusion of various SFA personnel.

Think about it, tabloid stories saying Celtic and Rankers players supposedly on £30K per week….Sutton, Hartson, Lambert, De Boer, Flo, Van Bronkhurst, etc.

Only thing is, if the allegations of EBT’s and dual-contracts prove to be fact, then SFA personnel had copies of contracts showing much smaller salaries.

Why did they not question a certain club about these contracts or did they ask questions and meekly accepted that there was no issue?

Who will investigate the SFA? As mentioned on here earlier today, we need UEFA to fully investigate this rotten set up.

  11. Brilliant stuff from Barcabhoy, good point tommytwiststommyturns

Possible collusion by the SFA must become a huge part of the story.

Why on earth is Campbell Ogilvie still in post, even after the dust settles on the death of the Hun, the SFA and their role will come into focus.

Look forward to the MSM taking up the story, or maybe just keep reading the Internet bampots.

Cheers Zbysek – I had planned to go there. have never been in the bar, but know the other ‘irish’ pub quite well – Biddy early’s in the basement. A total waste of space, who hardly show any football. Will set up camp in O’reilly’s on Sunday.

Gotta agree – I love Stuttgart too.

  18. tommytwiststommyturns on

Doc – we’ve always had good reason to distrust the SFA, but we’ve yet to see the proof. I hope it’s only a matter of time.

NAFOS – the SFA must be able to prove their innocence, which would further incriminate Rankers, or this story goes to a completely different level.

We know in our hearts what’s been going on with the revolving door between Hampden and Ipox, but to see it finally exposed to the rest of the football world is something worth waiting a little bit longer for. Tick tock!

Didn’t the flying pig produce a document in court saying he only earned a grand a week when he was involved in divorce proceedings? I remember finding that a bit strange then when guys like Danny crainie and David mouse were earning that in the early 80s. I thought it was something he fiddled to avoid alimony. Ebt anyone?

  20. ffs , no wonder he’s going off his nut, he’ll know what rangers means to him, is based on fraud

Moving forward to our attempt to qualify for the champions league, I believe we have the nucleolus of an outstanding team, the seven players below can grace the competition and with the addition of some experience we might go far. I would like to see a dominant Centre back probably playing with Rogne and a very pacy forward with one of our existing forwards or play makers just behind.

    ……………………Forster……………..

    Matthews …………….. ………Issy

    Forrest Kayal Wanyama Mulgrew

All others would be sellable assets to enhance the team. Good luck Neil and good luck Celtic. Rangers, for once not on our radar.

Barcabhoy and James Forrest, will you co edit the book with Paul 67, RTC, Alex Thomson, The Battered Bunnet et al when their demise is a footnote in history?

I’m quite behind on this, been busy at work, but visited RTC tonight and one thing caught my eye, which I am sure will have been discussed on here:

    Q. How many Rangers players who won the title on the last day of the season, 22nd May 2005, (first team and subs) had an EBT?

    A. Every single one of them.

    Good God.

This is absolutely incredible, but then you all know that, I know that. However, sometimes the whole thing just slaps you in the face with a big wet fish and you think of your forefathers and realise that this is monumental, in the most epic sense and I have no more words for it.

I can hardly say I have been to that pub. After five minutes we were asked go off. When they saw VfB scarf we were told that the table was reserved and no place available. We went to another pub on Marienstrasse but I can’t remember the name of that pub (restaurant).
