Tomorrow evening four or five Celtic players will represent Scotland in a match of the upmost importance to the SFA. The Association, who employ around 170 people, face a financial cliff edge if they fail to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
Current income does not match expenditure; financial reserves are dwindling, with no certainty ahead. The existing deal with Sky TV ends next summer, while William Hill’s sponsorship of the Scottish Cup has an additional year to run. Qualification for Russian 2018, with the millions it would bring, is a financial necessity.
I’m a Scotland fan and a Gordon Strachan fan, but I’m a Celtic fan first and foremost. It grates that the very same people who rejected the Celtic and SPFL’s call for a review into (among other things) the conduct of their officeholders, now need our players to pay their wages. They want us to feed them, but God forbid you want SFA officeholders to be accountable for actions.
If Regan, Petrie and their cronies know anything about motivating footballers, they will hide their faces from the Celtic players around Hampden.
Maybe I should do the team talk tomorrow.
NEW CQN PODCAST FROM CELTIC PARK ON SATURDAY
Kevin Graham is back with a new CQN Podcast from Saturday. He talks to supporters on the bus on the way to Parkhead, interviews John Paul Taylor outside the ground and captures the atmosphere and action inside the ground before getting some more supporters’ views on the bus home after an eventful afternoon at Celtic Park.
Apologies for a few sweary words in this podcast near the end.

Jupp Heynckes to manage Bayern till end of the season
Ray Donovan….oooft…
Bada Bing, that’s not good news Bayern getting Heynckes in. He was a very good manager in his last spell at Bayern .
I just watched our 5 1 demolition of Hearts on 17/11/84 at Tynecastle with choccy getting a hat trick , despite playing in midfield, le petit merde and Tommy getting the other two.
Hearts had such footballing luminaries as Henry Henry drop the ball, Walter Kidd, Brian Whittaker , Kenny Black, Sandy Cark, Jimmy Bone , Craig , Willie Johnstone and the huns hun, Alex McDonald playing for them.
Tommy, Danny , the Maestro and Davie Provan were terrific for us in the above match. Tommy’s goal was class just placing the ball past the diving Smith
In our two follwing games we scored 7 against St Mirren then 5 against Dundee with Frank McGarvey getting a at trick v the Saints and the petit merde doing the same against Dundee.
I wonder if that is the only time three different Celtic players have scored a hat trick in three matches .
It is àll about the money. Apropos of nothing…
Dallas- one for the record books i think HH
Bada Bing, it probably is.
I dont think we will ever see 3 different Celtic players score a hat trick in 3 games on the trot.
The result at Old Trafford against that Viennese team stopped us in our tracks as we had been doing well in our league games in the run up to that match.
Good night all and seep well .
Since it’s so quiet,I’ll post this-without further comment-as seen on JOHNJAMESSITE

Great baseball playoff tonight.
Arizona beat Colorado 11-8 to advance and meet Kojo’s Dodgers on Friday.
Yankees saw off the Twins last night in the American League
Friday is a godsend for couch potatoes.
Four games one after the other from 2pm in Houston withthe last game from Dodgers stadium starting 10:30pm.
Extra cushions and Corona in fridge should help us get through it.
Who needs a Scotland game?
Also on Friday evening USA play Panama in a WC qualifier from Orlando.
USA, in 4th place with 9 points, are a point behind Panama with 2 games remaining for both.
3 teams in the CONCACAF section automatically qualify and a win would see USA leap frog into 3rd and in good shape to qualify as their final game is against bottom side Trinidad and Tobago next Tuesday, while Panama hosts Costa Rica at presently sitting second with 15 points.
Friday is indeed a red letter day for us wee couch potatoes.
Tonight’s the night. C’mon you bhoys in blue ;-)
Just passed a house on Aitkenhead Road with a Christmas Tree in the window!
Good morning CQN from a dull, dry and very breezy East Devon.
Jobo,
Where would you expect them to put it?
Cheerio for now

The sun is shining. Don’t know when we last had this sight in Largs……
________________
Yes, but I’m sure it’s accompanied by the apparently eternal gale that blows through Largs :)
ZIGGYDOC1,
It’s actually no too bad at the moment. But, yes, we do get more than our fair share in the gale department.
PARKHEADCUMSALFORD: Certainly wasn’t shining yesterday when I got there for the golf
Only ask for it to be good two days a week ,Monday and Wednesday!!!!!!!
COSY CORNER BHOY,
Surprised you were able to play yesterday. It bucketed down most of the day.
No Christmas trees in Dublin ……yet. Plenty of sunshine though.
For Ireland to qualify we need to win our last two matches AND Scotland to win tonight, apparently.

Earlier you referred to “Henry Henry drop the ball”
One of my sons was in a penalty competition. Henry Smith in goals.
5 penalties each player.
My son put his first 4 past him with the minimum of fuss.
As he placed the ball for his final kick Henry announced:
“You won’t beat me again.. I guarantee it”
My son took 2-3 steps back, and with the inside of his foot calmly placed it in the postage stamp corner.
Henry nearly done himself an injury he tried so hard to reach it. He wasn’t amused.
Nothing remarkable I hear you say, scoring 5 pens…… but at the time he hit all 5 past him…… he was 13!
Beginning to think that “sober October ” is having an effect on here, very quiet lately.

P.S. Mon Scotland 2 wins then we can have a glorious failure in the play-offs.
Day 3 of a biblical downpour -way down south .

Released in the week that Celtic beat Clyde 7-0 at Shawfield ( a game which featured 2 Danny McGrains ) and the Deady Bears with an injury time header from Jim Brogan . Hey Ho !!!!
Good Morning Bhoys well for me the nothing game at Hampden tonight wont even be worth watching. The only interest I have is that no celtic player picks up an injury we have plenty of injuries already this season. The weather here this morning in Central Scotland is bright and sunny with a light wind.H.H.

Off oot to the doctors. Myself and Mrs H heading to Ullapool early Saturday morning, to get the ferry to Stornaway. We have a cottage booked for a week. First time on Lewis and Harris, so HEBCELT, if your lurking, or anybody else with Inside knowledge, where is the best placs to eat in Stornaway, or elsewhere on the Island?
Will check back later for any replies. Should probably have asked this when the blog was a bit busier.
We enjoy Islands. In the last five years we have been to all of the Uists, including Barra; four of the Azores; four of the Orkney’s and most recently Sardinia and a small Island off of it. Oh! And we were on Skye to get to the Uists.
Think that’s about 16 Islands in five years. If Crammond Island and Incholm Island count, 18.

Also love the islands. Was in Benbecula, Eriskay and N/S Uist a few months ago.
But according to a certain silly Mason, Skye is not a “real” Island anymore.

Morning guys,
Is anyone else having issues cancelling Premier Sports?
I subscribed for our game back in August, but despite cancelling within the 10 days ( and getting confirmation) I’ve just found out that I’m still being charged.
I did this on line and didn’t screen grab this confirmation. I’ve contacted my Bank but they are unable to assist me.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
