Relentless pillage of transfer stories wearisome

802

News (confirmed by his club) that our next Champions League opponents Juventus have opened negotiations with Athletic Blibao striker Fernando Llorente, ahead of a possible free-transfer move in the summer, appears to put recent fantasy stories about Gary Hooper supposedly moving to Turin in the correct context.  Liverpool, who several newspapers also ‘reported’ were interested in Hooper, signed a different striker this week.

The relentless pillage of Celtic player’s names used to sell newspapers is wearisome, probably more so to those at the club hoping to convince Hooper, and Victor Wanyama, to sign new contracts.  Chances of re-signing Hooper if he thinks Juventus and Liverpool are about to bid for him: 0%. Chances if it’s relegation battlers from England: considerably higher. I see a new front has been opened today on Beram. We have to ensure another 28 days of this nonsense.

Llorente is a current Spanish international and played a huge part in Atheltic’s march to the Europa League final last season, but I would not be too concerned if Juventus tried to secure him this month.  Moving to Turin is notoriously challenging for strikers and Llorente has never been based outside of the Basque country.

The Hun with the whistle yesterday tried to satisfy his masters, but only succeeded in galvanising the team and support.

Lets see the next time we get a penalty the player places the ball just touching the spot and refuse’s to move it no matter what the mib says.

  2. You Bhoys complaining about the Annan Newco on the telly in the warmth of the lounges inside Celtic Park. You dont know how lucky you all are, try standing outside in the freezing wind and rain on match days,

  3. Guys, I listened to SSB from its inception when Richard Park and James Sanderson ran things followed by Paul Cooney. I read the Herald when Ian Archer (a proper journalist) ruled the roost and before a young promising reporter called James Traynor sold his soul for some Succulamt lamb.

Stopped listening to SSB last season when my blood pressure could no longer handle their absolute, point-blank refusal to tell the truth over the death of Rangers and their prejudiced anti-Celtic tosh spouted by Keevins, King, Jackson. Then, to compound things, when you think it couldnt get any worse, they go and introduce that complete fud, Gordon Dalziell. Has lost any credibility and should not be taken as anything other than a Fanzene for Sevco.

The DR has been discredited for years now – it’s disgraceful “reporting” of Celtic players Xmas night out in Newcastle was the last straw for me.

It’s beyond me why any Celtic fan would choose to listen to SSB or read the DR as they are blatant Propoganda machines for Deadco and Sevco and the less Celtic supporters who buy into this claptrap the quicker they will die. it does make me smile when folk keep listening to this drivel and then complain on CQN about Sevco bias – it surely can’t possibly be a surprise to any of us any more? So why put yourself through that angst?

I hope that CFC never lift Keevins’ ban – he’s a bitter and twisted yesterday’s man who has been totally discredited over and over again eg “Internet bambots”.

As for the Herald, it has gone downhill rapidly as it gave up trying to be a quality newspaper in the chase for circulation nos. I actually think that Michael Grant is better than most in that he steers clear of the Sevco herd, but the fact that it allows Richard Wilson to give free advertising space for Sevco games and report blatant PR spin – his article last weekend was truly awful, with his “the fans saved Rangers” utter nonsense! They didnt as Oldco were liquidated and he refuses to acknowledge liquidation and what liquidation actually means FFS!) is the sign of a desperate paper – one which has sold its soul in a futile attempt to arrest its terminal decline in circulation.

SSB, DR and now the Herald gave up pursuing journalistic principles years ago and instead now peddle PR and propaganda trying to pander to the fan base of a deceased corrupt company – the irony being that they played a major part in its demise by helping to keep the fiction going for so long.

Off the Ball, CQN and TSFM for all my football information and analysis.

FURIOUS LENNON IN ‘SHOWDOWN’ TALKS WITH BOARD

The Daily Record can exclusively surmise that flame haired Neil Lennon’s Celtic are set to be rocked by the transfer of 10 (TEN!) (DIX!) (DIEZ!) players from the club to a number of lower league English clubs.

Our Inside Man at Parkhead has it on good authority that flame haired Neil Lennon will lose the services of the ill disciplined Victor Wanyama (£250,000 to Walsall), fiery Scott Brown (£150,000 to ex-Celt-fiery-Italian Paulo Di Canio’s Swindon), James Forrest (£300,000 to flame haired Big Eck Alex McLeish’s Birmingham City), Kris Commons (£125,000 to ex-Celtic manager Tony Mowbray’s Middlesboro, home of flame haired ex-Celt Barry Robson), Fraser Forster (£250,000 to dark haired ex-Celt Malky Mackay), Gary Hooper (£175,000 to ex-Celt Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich), Charlie Mulgrew (£200,000 to Darren Ferguson (son of ex-flame-haired-ex-Rangers player Alex Ferguson) at Peterborough, Beram Kayal (free to ex-celt John Yogi Hughes’ Hartlepool), Adam Matthews (£75,000 to ex-Rangers’ Derek McInnes’ Bristol City) Emilio Izzaguirre (free to Nigel Pearson at flame-haired Neil Lennon’s former club Leicester),

The combined transfer fees of just over £1.5million will give Neil Lennon, the fiery flame haired rookie manager (who has had a number of disciplinary hearings with the SFA and SPL), limited scope for filling the chasm to be left as a result of the flight south by half of his squad.

Peter Lawell, it is said, was keen to reduce the wage bill at Parkhead , and is said to have pointed to the significant cost cutting which has taken place at The Rangers, who continue to excel in Division 3 in Scotland. Lennon is said to be “furious” and has demanded an explanation, apology and extended contract from the shadowy Parkhead power-brokers. The fiery Lurgan-born Manager is currently with the Celtic team on a mid season winter break and was unavailable for official controversial comment. He is “furious”, though. And the SFA look set to investigate Lennon’s fury.

The football authorities want you not to focus on Sevco. They do not want justice or equality. Without your focus, they can propel them back to the top with ease and normal service can be resumed asap. They want you to get bored with the talk of Rangers/Sevco.

One of less than a handful of journalists who have reported on the Rangers scam has been Alex Thomson. Yesterday his blog highlights just how mis-information propaganda is helping to gloss over their sins and move on. Yes, Rangers died. What difference is there now? Not much. yes, this year they are not playing in the SPL. Is that it? Are you seriously happen that the the length of retribution? What they have got away with is criminal, immoral and just wrong. To forget about it or not act to prevent it getting worse is in my opinion negligent of you.

Alex Thomson’s first point is mince. This should not be the end. Sevco should never have been granted a licence to play in division three the first place. You should be raging that they were. Unless you want them to return of course. The SFA gave them a temporary membership out-with the remit of their own rules. We accepted this when we should not have. It should have been a simple case of no license without three years of accounts. A team like Spartans should be playing in division three this season. Not Sevco. You should be upset this has been allowed, as it makes a mockery of fair and equal competition. You are being asked to pay to watch a sporting competition akin to wrestling. Lets be honest. If this has been Gala fairydean, Do you think they would have been accepted? No. Me neither. Just one of the reasons Ogilvie and company should have been kicked out of Scottish football. This was not an application from Rangers. They are in process of being liquidated. This is from the Newco club, which despite what we are told, are the same club as the dead Rangers.

Regarding the FTTT. We are told they won. That they were hard done by. 35 of the 80 plus EBTs were found to be illegal and tax was due.

HMRC will hopefully appeal and win a case that should never have been found in their favour in the first place. Just another example of only in Scotland. Another example of why you should not just focus on Celtic but be demanding justice and equality. We are not even allowed to ask for penalties to be taken from the penalty spot. Don’t ask me not to focus on the inequality of Sevco. The main stream media want you to roll over. I wont. I will be a thorn in their side and I think you should be too.Remind them every time they claim that Sevco are the same club. They are not. RFC went bust, owing the taxpayers in excess of £20M and a further £55M to creditors. They can not be allowed to airbrush this out from history. I agree with point two. I also agree with point three but before we move on, proper justice must be served to the guilty.

Regarding point four. They did die. Sevco are a zombie club. The living dead, or perhaps the dying dead. Now is your chance to stand on their wind-pipe, unless you want it to be as if nothing happened. Culture and a club may have connections but they are not the same thing. A club is a legal entity like any other business. As I read in a post by someone in a forum yesterday. If McDonalds went bust, would you say it was still alive cause of kids love their happy meals? No, I don’t think so either. RFC went bust. Not the holding company. The club ran up debts and continued to win trophies when they should have been stopped. That club with collusion from the SFA cheated. They were caught and paid the ultimate penalty. It doesn’t matter about their heritage. Shameful as it is. Heritage means nothing and Charlie Green only bought the assets from the dead company. He did not pay for their goodwill. He left the creditors with nothing. He did not buy their history. He was right when he said without a CVA Rangers would die. They did. It was not a change of ownership. RFC were LIQUIDATED. We are being fed lies and it should be challenged and put right every time. You should not support publications that ask you to pay for their Sevco propaganda. You shouldn’t be supporting that. You should withdraw your financial support. It is not just the red tops that are guilty of that. In 2013, you don’t need them. You will get better, more accurate information on-line and without clicking their websites.

    I’ll agree with point 5.

On point six.. No.there can be no credit to RFC fans for attending third division games. That team are not RFC. Rangers were LIQUIDATED. They no longer exist. The liabilities of RFC were not included when Charles Grren/TickleUs bought their assets and formed Sevco. The same underclass of support may attend the games of the new club. The are the same shame with their ‘paedo free in division 3 banners. The only club in country to be debt free (minus their debt holders). Whilst other clubs pay their way and struggle to service their debt, Sevco and their vile fans laugh at us all. Why should we pay credit to them?

On point 7, no club has 100% perfect fans. Although very much exaggerated, the behaviour of some fans at Dundee was unacceptable, especially by Celtic standards. The same media that are feeding us bullshit on a daily basis regarding Sevco being Rangers are trying to balance things out between the Celtic support are theirs. It is just lies and manipulation. You don’t win Fairplay awards by UEFA for nothing. The sectarian singing coming from that mob week in week out is worth reporting and is not anywhere near comparable to what actually happened in Dundee. Shame Alex missed out reporting that. With all the police and Focus cameras, they make four arrests at the Dundee 70′s era-like riot. Yeah, ok! Why do the authorities ignoring and turn a blind eye to the mass racist and sectarian displays such as witnessed at Hampden last week? The truth is Scottish football and Scottish society would be better off without them.

On point eight. The fact that the Daily record this week printed it is no longer the job of journalist to break stories or report is proof positive. What is their role then? The no longer even try to hide their agenda. To buy their publications and subscription, you support that agenda. Why blanking out or repeating thie spin, you become part of the problem.

Regarding point 9. Crap Alex. BDO are liquidators and act in the interests of creditors. NOT Rangers or Sevco. Sevco are bragging about Ibrox being worth £70m. Green only paid £5m, so this must be challenged under ‘Alienation’ through the courts. This standard practise for this situation must apply in this case. The creditors and the taxpayers such as you are the victims here. It is a clear case of tax evasion. Those responsible must be sent to prison for their crimes. Murray cheated the system and rangers took full advantage. The SFA & seem to have been completely aware of what RFC (1872-2012) were up to. BDO don’t have any duty to the tribute act. Their priorities are to the the victims. Neither the defunct Rangers or Sevco are the the victims.

On point 10. It is a little bit late for them to be asking questions now. Rangers international are back on the stock market, and doing great. Better than celtic. Strange but true.

Between May and August, 19M shares were issued at 1p and 2M at 50p (including 1M issued in October) Compared to the £12M issued at £1. It is too late for those investors to ask questions. The off-shore entities such as Blue pitch holding, margarita funds holding trust and Norne Anstalt will cash in, starting in six months. Some need to wait one year. Every penny over the 1p investment will be a cute profit for them

I agree with follow the money. The millions that leaked from rangers when they existed needs to be examined. The thieves and cheats must be punished. Equality and justice must be served. I think it is your duty not to get bored with this issue until then.

    Nothing changes….

” Rangers supremo Charles Green repeatedly tells us that Newco has transferred everything from Rangers 1872.

You know, the stadium, the training ground, some of the players. He even claims their titles, despite he and his media buddy and now hired gun, Jim Traynor, saying earlier in 2012 that should Rangers not attain a CVA, the club and its history were dead.

He talks about all of this, as flowing naturally from one corporate shell to the other, but never once has he been forthright about the transfer of something else; the transfer over of institutionalized sectarianism.

Recently, Spanish forward Fran Sandaza gave an interview to a Spanish newspaper about life in Scotland. It transpires that he was warned not to “cross” himself. He is not the first, but it was to be hoped that we’d seen the last of this kind of nonsense. Apparently not. It seems the informal policy is still maintained, even now, under a man with no connection to the dark days of Rangers past.

Whilst the Dundee “riot” yielded five arrests, one being a Dundee fan, and had several pages and column inches and was widely debated on football phone-ins, yet again the issue of religious bigotry was given a wide berth and frankly laughed off.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist stated in a press conference that he has no problems with any of his players “crossing themselves”.

“It is not even an issue for us.”

Adding: “It hasn’t been an issue in the past, and it won’t be in the future.”

So if Sandaza openly blessed himself in front of the Copland Road you’re telling me that there would be no derision or booing? Would he be sent to Coventry?

Ally, we all know you’re the cheeky chappy but you cannae kid a kidder. It is an issue, and it has been an issue, for longer than we care to remember. It is a stain on the game here, and a scandal.

Seeing as you’re desperate to hang on to the history, let me remind you of a few ex-Rangers players who felt the need to comment on this and how big name players have been bemused.

Take Shota Arveladze, a Georgian Orthodox who was booed at a Linfield v Rangers game in Windsor Park for “crossing” himself coming onto the pitch in 2003. It came from both sets of fans and he must have been absolutely bewildered by this. How can you possibly boo your own player for his beliefs? I don’t think Marvin Andews ever was and he was very public about his beliefs. Perhaps it was okay because the never went to an RC Church.

Former fans favourite Mikel Arteta told Toffee’ Talk the following, whilst at Everton.

“I am Catholic. But I have always been Catholic. The people at Rangers didn’t really like it, so I had to be respectful.”

Obviously not overtly criticising his former club but read into this what you will. Does this mean not blessing yourself? No wearing of Catholic paraphernalia? Keep your Crucifix at home Mikel, locked away in a darkened room with the Holy Water and the Bible you follow.

As to being respectful, why was Arteta the one who had to show “respect”? Respect to what? Intolerance, ignorance, hate?

Even more preposterous were tales from Wayne Rooney and the story of United’s Javier Hernandez.

The former Everton ace and Manchester United hero said in his book:

“We went to Ibrox to play Glasgow Rangers in a pre-season friendly and I got a very ‘warm’ reception from the home fans. Getting off the bus my crucifix had fallen outside my top and was on full display. They booed me from the start.”

How dare you wear any religious symbol within 500 yards of Ibrox Wayne! You should have known the rules pal.

So much so that Sir Alex Ferguson, a former Rangers player, who was effectively sine-die inside the club itself because he married a Catholic, warned Javier Hernandez not to perform his pre-match ritual before his side took on Rangers at Ibrox.

The article reads: “Rangers fans have already vowed on websites to target Hernandez if he goes through his normal routine and that will worry Ferguson who is anxious for United’s visit to pass peacefully.”

So Rangers fans were set to intimdate a footballer not based on his ability, but on his religion? Can you imagine what Ferguson had to tell his player prior to taking the field?

“Listen wee man, ye cannae bless yourself or do that ritual you do before the game, it’ll cause a riot.”.

Another player who allegedly fell victim of the non-crossing policy was Marco Negri, who incredibly scored around 30 goals for Rangers by Christmas and was told not to bless himself again. Take from this what you will. There was a hoax interview peddled on the internet and we will no doubt never know the true story. Negri is a virtual recluse now and doesn’t do interviews.

Even Bailey’s swigging Lorenzo Amoruso’s stated  in his biography that when he joined the club the then manager, Walter Smith, and unnamed others, advised the player not to bless himself when running onto the pitch, as was his custom. This might inflame the support. Here we have the first Catholic to captain Rangers being warned that should he dare acknowledge his background the masses, if you pardon the pun, would go mental.

“When I first came here, several people, including Walter, advised me not to cross myself as I ran on to the pitch because it would antagonise the Rangers fans.

“I thought that was ridiculous but I was in a strange land so I complied.”

Captain’s are often dubbed “courageous” so why could big Lorenzo not  stand up for his faith and do it? Souness signed Maurice Johnston supposedly to quell this bigotry, or so we’re told, but there is ample evidence to suggest it is still carried on today.

Stories of Rangers kitman, Jimmy Bell, emanated from Ibrox that he refused to wash Johstone’s kit and held a vow of silence. Ironic really.

The list is longer than we’d believe. You had players like Basil Boli, Sebastian Rosenthal, Andrei Kanchelskis and Jorg Albertz who were effectively barred from displaying any religious beliefs. All players idolised by their fans.

Surprisingly, one player spoke very openly about this to the Scotlad on Sunday newspaper.

Fernando Ricksen said: “If you’re Catholic and you play for Rangers, then you are a Protestant.

“If you play for the Protestant people, you don’t play for the Catholic people.”

Ricksen added: “If you can’t handle that, if you’re really a Catholic and you feel too  much about it, you don’t come to Rangers. You stay away.

“You’d better go to the other side [Celtic] or there will be a lot of problems for you.”

The player’s comments suggest that inside Rangers there is a virulent anti-Catholicism, and this is embraced, despite ditching their policy of not signing Catholic players, years ago. It seems very sinister to be indoctrinating players into this way of belief.

It clearly demonstrates that players from outside of Scotland had this ingrained into them as much as those born here. Step forward Andy Goram, Stuart McCall and Terry Butcher. They were English born and bred but came to Glasgow and found themselves sucked in.

Butcher spoke openly about this in his book, at the shame he felt when he realised he had become a part time bigot, and how his wife’s pointing it out to him filled him with regret, and as a result he is now about as popular as a fart in a spacesuit throughout the Rangers support.

During a 2-0 defeat at Celtic Park in January 1998, Goram wore a black armband in tribute to Billy ‘King Rat’ Wright, leader of the LVF who had been killed just days earlier. Goram’s excuse was that it was in respect to his dead Aunt. She had passed away four months earlier, and surely there would have been plenty of games previous to this to mourn someone so close? This was a guy who was born in Bury. What made him obtain such beliefs? How did it manifest itself into such hatred? I’ll leave you to draw your  own conclusions there.

Then, there’s Artur Boruc. The Holy Goalie was questioned by police for Blessing himself at Ibrox (something he did at every ground and every game). I seriously can’t imagine someone calling the Police in uber-rage.

“I want to complain about the Celtic goalkeeper – he crossed himself and we’re all pure beelin’ ”

I’ve always been of the thinking that the person doing the complaining is the bigot and unable to accept someone else’s beliefs. The notion that those complaining could have been “incited to violence” by the act is, in fact, not a reason to arrest Boruc but, surely, the very reason those doing the shouting should have been off the streets? After all, if you were to walk into a police station and claim the sight of someone doing something you didn’t like (and which is legal!) had moved you to want to hurt them, it would be you, not the person you’re talking about, who would spend time in a cell.

If someone blessing themselves really sparks fury and boils your blood then shouldn’t you be taking a look at yourself. I don’t walk past the local Church of Scotland and self combust with rage.

Should the modern day Rangers fan on the big adventure not be willing to accept Sandaza’s beliefs. Surely he’s an integral part of their quest? We are continually told by Charles Green and the fans that they are making new friends on their travels. I take it many of those new friends are not disclosing their religious persuasion to the club from Glasgow? Let’s not kid ourselves, the baggage of sectarianism is still being carried as they pass through the towns of Annan, Peterhead and Elgin.

Even last Saturday, the same old songs were being belted out at Hampden, perhaps a two-fingered salute at the office bearers on the 6th Floor.

The bottom line is – either McCoist or Sandaza is lying.

I’m picturing McCoist putting his arm around Sandaza before his first appearance for this new team.

“Fran, let me make this clear.

    “WE DON’T DO CROSSING OURSELVES!”

  17. The whole r*****s franchise is simply a criminal enterprise, complete with omerta and an orange-hued resemblance to the cosa nostra.

Maybe Tommo got a goat’s head for Christmas from the scum.

    Nothing would surprise me.

  18. Not sure about this Gershwin guy signing for us…what with his Rhapsody in Blue and Tin Pan Ally McCoist connections.

Also hope his brother, Ira, isn’t joining too. Hmmm.

The The Rangers story…… That must really upset Matt Johnston (sorry Matt) ….. was easy pickings for Alan Thomson. Nobody was interested in it and if he had not been initimidated when he had shown initial interest in it I dont believe he would have given the story as much attention as he eventually did. Thomson never struck me as being a football man.

I suspect that if ever the truth relating to the circumstances that surround Rangers friendly media and Celtic anti media was to really out itself or be exposed by someone that it will be truly horrific for the media industry. Written and broadcast media.

The Rangers friendly media and Celtic anti media slant is but an infintesmal part of how PERTINENT information is relayed to the British public. If the collusion of the written and broadcast media along with the; businessman, politicians, police courts were to be truly exposed they will not come out of it smelling of roses. In fact they may fear those not involved with the Manchester riots actually getting involved this time for real.

    MPs expenses

The Banks (and how they have screwed everyone including themselves the silly Bas****s

    Cuts- Austerity – HMRC

Rupert Murdoch (and not just him) phone hacking, Google, Starbucks, Amazon etc.

    Police Hillsboro

The complete lack of appetite by the written and broadcast media to report anything that may upset the submissive passive UK public is what I reckon is at stake here. I choose only the above four as examples but the list is getting longer and the crimes more substantial.

I suspect that the written and broadcast media are living in fear of quite a few things at the moment and fear of being exposed that they have fully co operated in not delivering the news to the British public is what they fear most. Especially when you consider that this is not a free service. You pay for it.

If you expose one then in todays information age it is easy to joing the dots and if I can use an analogy … pull out one stone from the foundations and it starts to get unsteady …. pull out more and more and the whole hoose falls down. And its there Hoose

It is IMPERATIVE that this information is not divulged to Joe Public. Those in charge of the information will sleep well at night truly beliveing that they are doing Joe Public a public service and making his life easier and more tolerable that their priviledged position is protected being just a by product.

Alex Thomson has chosen to play Pontious Pilate and is washing his hands off it… not because The Rangers are innocent like Jesus was … so it is a bit of an inappropriate analogy but because the hun hordes are Joe Public too.

Now whether his sympathy is for Joe Public or the written and Broadcast media and its better not to pull out another brick is up to you to decide.
