The worst way to end a bad week was for a loose-mouthed agent to pitch up at Lennoxtown on Friday before setting off on a rant because Brendan Rodgers was not available to him at a time he wanted. We had a remarkable week of distractions in and around the dressing room. These things often correlate with a poor result.
Brendan would be pleased to get his players out of the country yesterday, giving him two days to focus the squad on the matter in hand – tomorrow night’s Champions League qualifier against AEK Athens. This is where the manager earns his money.
Only a unified squad will have a chance of getting the required result against AEK. The better players in the first leg against AEK were these settled at Celtic for the long-term – McGregor, Brown, Tierney, Ntcham, Forrest. Tactical conversations will be needed, but the first thing Brendan needs to infuse into the squad is a laser-like focus.

We definitely need to freshen up our first team and squad, but the hard truth is if we don’t make CL we will probably need to sell and get that £50 annual wage bill down. I don’t like to say it but it’s probably hard facts.

Although, granted they went down to 10 men and you would expect us to have a lot of possesion.

Nice post. The fact that there will be a lot of people attending who like me, barely saw these years over the last 20+ years tells you what a lasting impression they made.
Funny you should mention their mum. I didn’t ever meet her. But when my best mate called to share the sad news he told me she had befriended his mum on holiday in Portugal some years back. And yes, she was apparently just as lovely a person as her sons.

But at one point throughout the summer at least 3 quarters of our first choice players have been linked with moves away, Only Broonie and Cragie G from the old guard and Eddie obviously. That was my point about our scouts getting it in the neck on here for allegedly not doing the job required.
Imho we need a Left sided CH, an attacking midfielder that can pick a pass out and take a free-kick and cover for our Swedish Cop,if Gamboa goes…
